Basic communications and radar is what we see in canon, I believe. There's clearly ways around it as GN Drive mobile suits have some form of communicating, and for the true, green GN Drives the Gunadms use it's generally just immediate vicinity (though immediate vicinity is sort of the issue here, I suppose :'D ) not to be confused with the Gundam Thrones appearing and blacking out miles upon miles of communications and monitoring.
