PLOT POST FOR MAY 19TH
This format of plot post is designed for players to ask questions and find ways to influence the plot. Be bold and ask what you can or can't do; the worst that can happen is that I will say no. As plots in Save the Earth are not self resolving nor on a time limit they can evolve in many ways. Although some potential outcomes are given, they are little more than suggestion and can be changed by character action. What role you take is up to you.
The post is also open for players to plot and coordinate between one another.
Events occurring currently;
• The three statues as detailed in the previous plot post remain up and adored by the public. The huge buzz surrounding David Proud has resulted in some information regarding the mysterious fellow entering public knowledge, even if he himself has yet to appear or be interviewed or ...well, anything visible. The art gallery in which he has exhibited his works, however has caved to demand and revealed a little, alongside media investigation.
David Proud is a twenty seven year old man who has lived his entire life in the Locke region. He is, due to a tragic heart defect common in his family, the only surviving member of what was once the Native American tribe that lived primarily in the Locke Region. An uneventful childhood resulted in becoming a car mechanic for several years until late last year when his art career began. Remaining in obscurity until recently, he remains reclusive and has not appeared in public often. His work was noticed by chance by Jimmy Won of Thunder Corp. and he found it inspiring enough to bring the artist to the popular eye. Proud gets all of the stone for his statues from a now closed coal mine, a place he played at as a child.
Said coal mine can be visited and for details, see the potentially occurring segment.
Events occurring in the immediate future:
• Following the 'negotiations', the enemy has had its suspicions confirmed. Instead of facing up against a complicated organization with its own agendas and resources they're facing up against a bunch of idiot yahoos who have no idea what they're doing or even why they're doing it. This, alongside the fact that interference in their operations did not cease as the Whatever on the other end of the internet requested means a change of plans.
So basically they're swapping from cautious, potential deal making to 'just kill 'em.' It's way simpler all around. To that end, a Vermedi will soon be released into Locke and will be the source of Monster Of the Week style troubles (in case you didn't feel enough like a bunch of Magical Girls) for some time. From May 23rd until May 30th, two sightings of the Vermedi per day will be allowed. One per character and it will always escape the scene once noticed. As with the 'werewolf ghosts', arranging a schedule for these and keeping in mind those who may need them more is appreciated.
On top of that some individuals whose identities are already known will be directly targeted soon.
Events potentially occurring in the immediate future:
• Visiting the long abandoned coal mine will show that security is nothing more than a rusted chain link fence with a big hole in it. It's pretty remote and nothing suspicious leaps to mind unless someone chooses to enter the mine itself instead of just the clearing it inhabits. Inside the mine, characters will be able to find a little old man who will claim to be a Sage of Earth who has been awaiting their arrival for a long time and has answers to their questions. Answers he can only give once and can only be given in the confines of the mine.
Looks like we got ourselves an underground party, although when will depend on when characters wish to do so.
Potential Echo Opportunities
As previously, the statues in the art gallery represent the potential for two Echoes by touch and one by hanging around them long enough. Meeting the Sage of Earth gets one, so anyone who wants to attend the underground party will get one. From May 23rd onwards, Vermedi nonsense will commence and from that there will be numerous Echo chances. Just seeing the Vermedi is enough to trigger an Echo. Canon parallels are a constant.
Please direct questions regarding these plot points to the thread below and not the post in general.

Because his parents are deeeeeeeeeeeadHe's 16 with anger issues and feeling powerless against something bigger than he is. And the adults are acting like idiots. [or at least one of them is and another yelled at him so he's kinda.... yeah :) Everything's being taken personally.]Well, normally, Bakura goes to the gym to use exercise as anger management after having a cranky day, which gets him back to being a more reasonable human. After that, either getting food or hitting up the arcade or something could work. Not sure what Brendan's schedule normally is?

FFFF, BRENDAN GOING TO THE GYM no right uhhh let's see. Food would be most likely. Brendan isn't much of a gamer
except for Starcraft. What sort of food place are we talking here?no subject
I may or may not be modeling his behaviors off one of the students I work with~Likely either like... pizza, Chinese or Japanese food. He's not especially picky.
no subject
.... oh wait that's a California only chain WOW OKAY I don't know how to describe this DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS.
no subject
Buffet place maybe? IDK, gotta think of a reason that they'd actually talk somehow!
Oh hey, actually, he's a student at the university, and Bakura hangs out there a lot because legacy of dead parents and all. Bakura having a bad day would totally go hang out where he had good memories of his parents, and since his mum was an English prof, if Brendan is the type to ask a somewhat upset/sulky looking teenager what's up, maybe can go with that set up?
no subject
As for the university student thing, there is the point to be made that LCU is on the semester system and therefore finals are likely either over, occurring now, or soon.
... Anndd uhhhh Brendan is not really the sort to ask what an upset/sulky looking teen is upset about. He's kind of a dick.
no subject
but yeah, if he's too much a dick to prod, then that doesn't work.
and now I'm picturing like Chuck E Cheese's or something silly like that :D
no subject
Well, it would probably be more accurate to say that he's not very sociable. He's just a dick if the other person ticks him off enough (see also our thread).
... No, but I admire your creativity.

I was thinking something like "hey" "hey" "do you come here a lot" "sorta" "you a student" "yep" "thank god finals are over" "srsly i am dead" "i know nngh essays are evil" "preaching to the choir here what's your major" blah blah blah. The pizza place is merely a setting in which a conversation might happen. Call it a convenient excuse for why they would be in the same place at the same time.
Alternately, one of them could arrive late at a busy time and have no other place to sit. The other would be, Idk, hogging a table or booth to himself.
There's also the time-honored tradition of having the characters literally run into one another, or possibly their orders could get mixed up, or maybe one might say "Hey, I've seen you in the halls before," or etc etc etc
no subject
Could be a forced shared table and then a "...you're on campus, aren't you? Thought you looked familiar... English?" since Bakura's still in high school. He's just a university brat since both his parents taught at LockeU
no subject
This could work. When would you like to set it/get started?
