Salutations! I, Joysweeper, come bearing everybirdie's favorite flirtatious spy pigeon, Sakazaki Yuuya! Of course he doesn't look like a pigeon now. Just you wait. He's not going to be happy at all.

He's known as Julien Sakazaki here, because fandom dub names. Lived in the city for a couple years, moved away about seven years ago, moved back almost a year ago after graduating college. I feel like she's often better when there are coauthors. Except If I Pay Thee Not In Gold. Even though I really liked her first trilogy with James Mallory, I haven't read the second. Probably ought to get on that.

Yeah I noticed the ones I tend to like best are the ones where she has coauthors on! There are exceptions but if she's left alone I feel like she tends to like... rehash stuff a lot and run around in circles with the plot. And all the characters end up severely depressed somehow. In the Collegium Chronicles she actually writes out the main character's thick accent and it's... unfortunate...

Like he pronounces "foreigner" as "furrigner" and she actually spells it out as "furrigner" and I'm just, ML no 8(

Yeah... There's a lot of tell-don't-show, too, and I feel like a lot of the characters are basically the same.
