His opinion of Sherman will pretty much be "he's an ass, but he's good at what he does," and he'll maintain that he's friends and colleagues with Sherman but he still gets his orders from the chief. Any direct questions about the allegations directed at Sherman or about the corruption will be met with answers like "there's nothing going on that I could tell." He's just trying to do his job, and if they want to know about Sherman they should ask Sherman himself or Chief Edwards.
