I'll get back to you more thoroughly once I have actual internet, but re: 2: There are no driveable roads at all. Those that remained are serviced by helicopter/people on foot/lamas and stuff???? whatever can climb a mountain. It's a lot more expensive to visit there now all of a sudden (and thus a lot more exclusive =D aka the visitors might change, but the noveltz factor and sesationalist tourism are bringing new people in...), and while there are fundraisers to support residents, they'll mostly have to make sure that they get food etc themselves. Since electricity/water are still functioning it's not a really horrible situation though.
