Lazarus is prepared to kill these awful people, but terrified of what that would mean and how it would effect his friends. He wants to scare Albero and keep anyone else from getting hurt; his motives are pure but he sincerely doesn't know what the best way to go about it is. A voice of reason to ease him into committing to the more reasonable choice will be a godsend, since he's in a weird, sleep-deprived and single-minded state and needs some wiser guidance.
