Well, if the mods give out echoes for participating I could maaaaaybe get away with echoing in his flying powers if things went sour to give him a chance to get away. |D But yeah, that's the main thing I'm waffling on, even if he's to where he can walk on his leg a little I probably can't reasonably say he can get around well since I think he should still have some sort of cast on it...

Eh, yeah, actually the more I think about it the more difficult it seems like it'd be to handwave it away that Sam would even feel that up to dealing with his leg in that situation.
