Julien's irises have a pebbled texture and a pale inner ring, though otherwise they are still blue. His pupils are usually small but can dilate or contract extremely far very very fast, most noticeably if he's excited or experiencing strong emotions. Since the whites of his eyes are unchanged it's normally hard to tell without being very close. He's often slightly dazed and distracted, but it's hard to tell what he's staring at because he doesn't have to look directly at it.
He has mostly clear inner eyelids where those little pink inner-corner lumps used to be. Sometimes they're very briefly visible while blinking.
When he breathes he does so more slowly and deeply than humans can and his chest expands somewhat more than it should. There's a slightly unusual resonant quality to his voice and he can speak and sound almost the same whether inhaling or exhaling, mouth open or closed; he normally does his best not to speak abnormally but may slip if relaxed. Julien's voice is generated and manipulated down in his ribcage, his lips and tongue are kind of superfluous to speech now.
Nick is welcome to notice any or all of that! But it'd be difficult to draw the conclusion "bird" from it, I think.
