In the early morning of Tuesday, the 19 of November, there was a shooting in the harbor area of Locke City after police had been tipped off by a mole about a major shipment of cocaine coming in at that time and location.

In short, two policemen (an NPC and Angela Roth von_uberwolf) and five criminals were killed or died of their wounds over the course of the next week, though a few other criminals, among them Blaine Frost siesinddasessen could escape. A few arrests were later made in connection with the shooting, though not everyone could be identified.

Below is a rundown of the information that could be found on the normal, local, off-network news, TV, radio and newspapers alike, over the course of the two weeks after the shooting. An IC post from the evening news with the first showcasing of a recognizable picture of Angela will be posted tonight.


19th, in the morning: Breaking news, shooting in the harbor area, police against criminals of unknown affiliation. Lots of speculations. During the day, the first pictures of the site and first details will emerge.

19th, in the evening: One police officer dead, another one at the brink of death. Unknown number of victims on the other side, but most of all: First grainy footage of the fight from security cameras, more pictures of police cordoning off an area with the entrance to a warehouse at the center.

20th, pictures of the dead and the critically injured police officers have been salvaged from footage and promptly the search for archive material has begun, also some pictures of involved criminals. Also apparently this is all a part of the war on drugs.

21st, Names are attached to the faces of the two police officers, and the press has started to dig around their backgrounds for emotional details. Slowly, more details about those injured and about the criminals escape as well.

Over the next few days, more and better pictures and footage will emerge, the police will release a statement with some information about how the whole thing was actually a success!!! and most of all information about those criminals that they are still looking for and a request to the public for help. Blaine is mentioned as a ”tall, lean, brown haired man in his twenties”, whom they are looking for in connection with the death of Angela Roth.

After roughly a week, and coinciding with the death of the second police officer, the digging into Angela's background will mostly stop. Digging into the background of a happily married person with children, who used to play football and all, is just a lot more selling than doing the same with a relatively normal single.

When the interest of the news outlets dies down around the end of the second week, no information of much substance will have gotten added to the above.

The short answer is no, no worries, she'll be fine! but that is also the ooc answer. I should have mentioned that somewhere, sorry!

The longer one is: No. I'm not sure what exactly Angela-mun plans, but from what I have been told she will be "back on her feet" not too long after.

When I ran the whole thing past the mods, I was however told that the police would not let any of that leak to the public, so for all what a normal person in Locke would know, she is dead for good. I'm not sure how many people within the police would know about her returning once it happened, and I don't know what Angela-mun plans regarding Angela telling people about it, so I sadly cannot answer questions regarding that.

Canon!Sho really really hates drugs and this Shou is just ew drugs though he does a lot of drinking. But anyways just have to say that this is an awesome player event :3

Blaine would never do drugs herself, she just slid into the trade when she lived on the streets as a kid and had not much reason to get out of it so far. She's not deep enough either...

Canon!Sho's big brother was a druggie and he had to bail him out of trouble a lot before he managed to get his brother cleaned. And then when their gang fell apart, his brother took a bunch of drugs and tried to kill the head of the big mob group and got himself killed instead. So, he really doesn't care for it and his gang was more into smuggling, stealing, laundering, and information.

It would be interesting if he finds out and we could have shenanigans with them about this eventually, because Blaine honestly believes the above - that she is not really deep in and it isn't really such a condemnable thing what she has done so far, at least in comparison with what other people do.

Though she knows that leaving isn't easy, she will try to stay away from anything related with it for now, completely giving up her persona that she used for it which... there are people who know her actual identity, and that should give her trouble in the long run. And she knows that. She'll probably gamble on her a. never having done drugs herself and b. never been in the tail end of the trade, aka selling stuff to clients, when that shit catches up with her. Because really, she wasn't that bad, right? Just involved.

Not even going into that the police may or may not find out who she is one day.

If they do end up meeting over this, talk about what might be a big canon echo of echo-ness for him. He already knows that his past self wasn't an angel but to know that his past self had a code would maybe help him accept the other aspects a bit easier.

A MILLION YEARS LATE TO THIS but

I realized that's a night Ravi's working, so if all this happened before 7AM then he's on duty at the hospital ER and could be one of the nurses in attendance when the NPC officer is rushed in.

I have been looking for a good excuse to have a patient die and raise the question of whether Ravi could've saved them if he'd used his healing powers so this seems pretty much perfect for that. I am assuming NPC cop ends up in ICU after the ER, which would have Ravi asking after him with the ICU nurses every shift. The post says he (she?) dies after roughly a week, so I'm assuming 26th or 27th, is that right?

Yes, correct. The officer would die on either of those days, and since the raid started at 5 am the officer would probably have come in between 5:30 and 6:00 am.

The only information about the NPC police officer that is set in stone is that he is male, happily married (gender of partner unspecified) and has children (again, age, number and gender unspecified).

If you would like to use his death that way, you are absolutely welcome to do so, it would make me happy to see the plot being useful to others, too!

Alright, awesome \o/!! I'll check w/some of the cop players and see if we can collab some info on him, and I'll post whatever we come up with here so there's a record of it.

Edit: Consensus is that he was a beat cop named Mike Wisniewski, and he and his spouse went to every office holiday party.
