Plotting post for October 5th: Enter the fairytale location!

This format of plot post is designed for players to ask questions and find ways to influence the plot. Be bold and ask what you can or can't do; the worst that can happen is that we will say no. As plots in Save the Earth are not self resolving nor on a time limit they can evolve in many ways. Although some potential outcomes are given, they are little more than suggestion and can be changed by character action. What role you take is up to you.

The post is also open for players to plot and coordinate between one another.

On Monday, the 6th of October, a pink light will go up over Neuschwanstein castle in Germany, near the Austrian border. All characters that witness the light, either by being in the location at the time or by seeing it recorded, will receive a Plot Tier 2 echo. The light however has a number of other consequences.

• A new echo boundary has been created. The applications page has been modify to reflect that characters can now be apped from this area.

Characters can travel there the same way they can travel from Locke to Vegas (refer to this handy-dandy brand spanking new info page for more information =D). This means that a new area is now glowing on the teleporter's world map, and when it is touched, the sigil of a double-headed swan creature will appear on the ground of the cabin. There is a sign-up here for the first person to use the teleporter to the Neuschwanstein area or otherwise find out where the sigil on that side is.

• In gratitude for her rescuing from cray cultists by reincarnates, Petunia Bonbright will help out with the stay of visitors. She has completely booked the Hotel Lilie in Reutte and also takes care of there being cars for the reincarnates. Her daughter Rose, who currently lives in Innsbruck, will drop in every once in a while to check that really only numbered people are taking up the offer.

• The pink light will bring a very massive change to the area: Right on the border, the Orbital Elevator will show up. Farms and other houses that were standing in the area are now located inside the ground level of the elevator. There is a plotting thread here for those who are interested in checking out the upper levels of the giant space ...finger.

All characters from the Gundam Universe will feel a sensation resembling the vertigo of an echo, only fainter and out of the blue with no other change materializing.

The mayor of Füssen, Elisabeth Kaufmann, will contact those numbered for whom she can acquire contact information and request them to come with other numbered and explore the building, assuming that they will be better equipped to do so than police, military or anyone else. If you want to thread this out, please contact Fae.

• Starting on the 11th, strange creatures will show up in the Neuschwanstein echo boundaries. They range in size from rabbit to Golden Retriever and all of them have at least a small part swan in them. At first, they seem to roam aimlessly, aggressive when approached or disturbed but not initiating contact themselves. They seem to be attracted to reincarnates more than to normal humans and will dog them, or stay near their houses or places that they often frequent.

• In Las Vegas, the public has started to shun the reincarnates, blaming them for the destruction wrecked upon the city over the last month and especially during the battle against Refined Shell. There are no attacks against them, and no attempts to put them out of their jobs and schools or make them leave, but the atmosphere has cooled down a lot. The reactions to the appearance of the Orbital Tower in Germany/Austria however brings a change and renewed cautiously positive interest in both reincarnates and the mountain and lake, specifically the question how they are connected and if they can be used to everyone's advantage - after all the reincarnates owe the city. This will become a very wide-spread sentiment over the course of the month.

• In Locke City, residents, media and mafia will all be happy about the additional place for one simple reason: It will hopefully make more numbered bugger off. All in all, things won't change much... at least not because of the world news.

Location: Vegas. He goes into the mountain but doesn't like to be in there for too long, and would take advantage of the teleporter now that it's apparently playing nice.

How soon: Pretty much right once she gets to Germany. She carries her phone around all the time, and she's getting bored without any obvious mafia targets so she's free to mess around with the teleporter all she likes.

Has Roxy ever stayed in the place in Las Vegas that Petunia offered the numbered, or would there otherwise exist a chance for one of the Bonbrights to to contact her? If so, they could contact Roxy and ask her to inform the network that they'll offer a place to stay in the Neuschwanstein area as well.

If not, I'll see what else'll crop up and then shoot you a message about it.

Plotting thread: Exploring the Orbital Elevator

I think after pummeling and shooting a giant bazooka at Refined Shell, Eugen's identity will be pretty well known as the pilot. The cult members also know he's an FBI so if they blab, that will certainly comes out as well.

I'm up for him being contacted by Kaufmann.

He will definitely head over to the Orbital Elevator since he'll knows how to operate one once he echoes it back upon coming into contact with it.

Winter's going to be heading for Neuschwanstein as soon as practicable, with a minimum of Lily and possibly more people in tow. I am not averse to her exploring a little bit; either she'd take a look around once she discovers it, or I'm kosher with Ms. Kaufmann looking her up and her learning that way. Not that she'll know what to do with it, but... eh. Maybe there'll be something helpful she can do.

A little late, but Lily is definitely on her way to Germany, and by the time of this post is probably already there. So along with Winter, and after speaking with Julien, she's definitely for the whole "exploration" thing.

If asked, Emilia would be up for exploring the Orbital Elevator too. Also, it looks like that if people can get it working, the European Space Agency's going to find getting into orbit much easier.

Emilia's pretty well known at this point, given her family's status.

Winter has, by this time, recognized that there's a pattern: pink lights in the sky, city steadily grows more dangerous, previously unknown or non-threatening group suddenly has a big Numbered connection, some kind of symbol grows in popularity, massive event, short lull in which everything seems to run on high tension, final battle with giant version of symbol. The cycle's starting again, and she's hoping that maybe she can do more to stop it this time. As a result, she'll be headed to Neuschwanstein as soon as she can get there - the teleporter's an option, but depending on how fast Lily finds the button on the Heartcatch Mirage, that can send them, too. During the Vegas cycle, she was too passive, or so she thinks. Motivated by certain people getting themselves hurt or killed, she's going to be pushing herself to search every cranny and miss absolutely nothing. Which is likely to be detrimental to her health, physical or otherwise, but it's What Must Be Done. She'll be (covertly) in Locke for a few days to gather her things and check on her friends, but most of her time will be spent in Vegas until she figures out how to make her way elsewhere.

Kevin (truthcharted) will be in on the ground floor for what he'll also recognize as a new cycle, and though it's technically outside his jurisdiction, he'll be looking to get a head start this time. Of course, this is also dependent on what my castmates end up getting up to, but his priorities are going to be trying (and failing) to smooth things over in Vegas and establishing a baseline in Neuschwanstein.

Just a note for Kevin's knowledge, Eugen is being transferred to the military and then moving to be based in Germany, in charge of the Orbital Elevator techs. Since they're colleagues, I figure he'll find out either from Eugen himself or through their boss.
