OOC Clarification on Chris' Darknet

There's been some confusion about this, so I'll go ahead and clear it up!

While the Darknet mentioned in this post is an invite-only network, it was not my intention for that to mean "only Chris' CR, ever." The idea is that characters already in it can invite other characters who they trust to use the Darknet if there's stuff they want to say that they feel they don't want out in the comparatively larger "public" of the Numbers Club, or hell, if they don't trust the Numbers origin.

This means that if you want in on it, all you have to do is OOCly go to someone already in the network and be like "hey I want in." Even if you don't already have CR with any of us, we're happy to make something up / get CR with you to get you in. In fact, there's actually a few characters whom OOCly I want in, but who ICly Chris doesn't have a lot of CR with or who she doesn't know well enough to trust them with this.

*edit* That being said, there still needs to be some kind of IC justification and at least ONE of the characters in on it already has to think you're not a serial killer or a loose canon.

The Darknet is more flexible than the Numbers Club and doesn't have the ONLY public or ONLY to one other person restriction; you can make your own little circles or groups in it (eg, private to X, Y, and Z) so if you're in it and want to make your OWN secret club WITHIN it, that's fine. Because of the way it's set up, once you're in, Chris can't banhammer a character from the whole thing; she can only lock her own conversations away from them. She could start a NEW Darknet, but that'd be silly.

This means that if your character has ulterior motives, but hasn't given anyone a reason not to trust them yet, they can well get in if someone already on there thinks they're trustworthy!

Some other caveats about it:

> Civvies (non Numbers people) can see it if they're looking over your shoulder, because it's a 100% mundane thing. This means that EVEN THOUGH it's through a secure peer-to-peer network, if you're an idiot who leaves it open on your laptop in a cafe or at your parent's house, it can be seen.

> Civvies could also USE it if they were given an access code and instructions, or if they stole an access code.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here. Also, if your characters want in, let's discuss getting them in here! In some cases there's still probably going to be cases made for not letting certain characters play (as mentioned ICly, most of the teenagers aren't considered trustworthy. Sorry guys.)

FINALLY, I'm keeping a list of people who have access over here so you can look at that at any time.

Hope this clears things up!

Hah. Julien doesn't think much of Shiro! But I expect Aaron, Emmanuel, and Lyall would vouch, maybe Kotesu too, when I see their players around again.
