New Character!

Hey everyone! I'm Lexil, your resident L Lawliet, and I decided that I love this game enough to do something very rare for me and actually app a second character. While working on writing a movie review for Thanksgiving weekend, I kind of started cultivating a new muse after falling totally in love with my assigned film.

What character is special enough for me to do this? So glad you asked!

I'm bringing you Elsa of Arendelle, protagonist of Disney's "Frozen" and literal ice queen, reincarnated as overachieving child of privilege Elsa Skare. She is a 21-year-old Norwegian beauty who sits 3rd chair in the first violin section of the Locke City Symphony Orchestra and studies math at Locke City University (she has a thing for fractals.) She was also a gold medalist in figure skating when she was 15, so if your character pays attention to Olympic ice skating, feel free to recognize her from the Turin, Italy 2006 winter games. She also has a sister in Norway whose calls she is not returning.

Like her canon counterpart, Elsa tries to downplay her talents, seeing many of them as curses. A big part of this is because her skating coach took significant advantage of her trust and molested her while she was training for Turin, culminating in a full-on assault after she received her medal. I intend to play out her PTSD as sensitively as I am able, but please don't hesitate to tell me if you are triggered by this kind of material. Elsa has a permissions post, and I encourage you to drop me a line there if you would prefer to set some boundaries.

Hey there Lexil! I don't think our characters have crossed paths so far, so I'm Ren and I play Suzaku and this guy here.

Although I haven't seen Frozen I've heard awesome things about Elsa's character, so I'll look forward to seeing her in action. Suzaku's about her age, though Pierce is a span younger...however also an Orchestra buff.

Shou here is also a musical talent, having a super talented mother who is a pianist that usually holds several soloist concerts for a lot of money. He has sit in with his mother playing duets, though not so much now that he's 26 but is still dragged to play with her once in a great moon. He also can play a couple other instruments and often hides out in the sound-proof music rooms to work on pieces when he is suppose to be working at his job.

Oooh it is highly likely that Sho's mother has performed with the symphony then, yes? Elsa probably remembers backing one of her solo concertos.

Yes, it would be highly likely. And if it was a big enough event, Shou would have also been playing counter-point to her for a piece or two, even though he may seemed a little resigned to his fate since Shou's solo pieces are more rooted in rock-progression keys with a mixed of traditional Japanese chords.

Oooh awesome! I'm going to say that she's seen both of them in passing and knows them by name and appearance, and that she admires both of them.

That would be fine, although Shou might not recognize her at first. He knows a lot of people and sometimes the faces are just blurs.

Oooh. What year is Elsa in at school? Because she might have classes with Jeffrey; he takes a lot of math.

And I think it will be inevitable that she and Toushirou will meet eventually. People with ice powers unite!

Ooh! Elsa is like... a junior is where I have her, at the age of 21, and so it's very likely if he's in advanced classes!

And yessss she will be very reliant on someone who knows wtf they're doing, because goodness knows she won't at first.

Junior works out perfectly. He's a complete whiz kid who tested out of high-school at fifteen, and he's eighteen now. So he's a junior himself! Now I totally need to hit up her network post with him, now that I'm aware of just how horribly embarrasing it will be for the both of them .:D

Toushirou's been working with ice since April. He'll totally help somebody not be stupid with similar powers.

Good choice in character, I've had all the songs on repeat since I went to see it.

Just so you know, Siiri/Sweden-mun's established that there's a nordic community in Locke city (mostly centred around a nordic language church) so I don't know if Elsa would have visited or avoided it? Åsa only started to visit it this st Lucia past so she won't have seen Elsa there anyway and I've already tagged you but just to let you know that's a thing that we're working on!

Thank you! I saw the movie twice, reviewed it for the website I write for, and want to buy all the merch like right now. I really click with her character type, but you hardly ever see it in Disney. So I was super excited.

I super appreciate you letting me know about the nordic community! I think that Elsa would have shied away from it initially in her attempt to blend in (especially since the nordics are more likely to recognize her as that one chick who won the gold, but whose coach is in jail right now for assaulting her.) I think it's likely that she'll start attending at some point, when she gets over her fear that her sister will look for her there.

She should come with Åsa and Siiri! All the Nordic girls together. I don't know if you're canon familiar, but in past lives they were personifications of Sweden (Siiri) and Finland (Åsa) (and yes, their nationality has been switched for their reincarnations) so a Norway will fit in great with them!

I tried to look for merch in the covent garden disney store after I saw it but I went before Christmas and omg there was a queue to get in. It's a small store to start off with, but I ollied right out of there. I clicked better with Kristoff and Anna, who's pretty similar to Åsa tbh but I'm happy to see any of them.

I am... very glancingly canon-familiar, enough to know about Hetalia and country personification. Oh my gosh she will love, love, love the company if she can get over her hang-ups about hurting people, especially when the ice and snow starts, but I for one am all for people sticking by her and supporting her while she's being an isolationist drama queen. And someone who knows about those brutal winters might be perfect for the job.

Auuuugh I can only imagine. x_X Omigod you make me want a cast. All the much. But Åsa will remind Elsa hard of Anna either way!

Åsa's definitely one for sticking with people through tricky times. And should she get parts of her nationhood back before Elsa starts to get her snow powers then the cold isn't going to do much to her so that'll work out!
