Greetings, Earthicans. My name is Carbon, and I have a brand-spanking new character for your game! For the past several months I could not get the idea out of my head of a malevolent AI reincarnated as a surly professor so... this was the result. In 1967 Harlan Ellison wrote a haunting short story supposedly in one night called I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, the main antagonist of which was the all-powerful, hateful, godlike, completely sadistic supercomputer named AM. Guess who I brought here!!! (There was also a video game based on the story made in 1995 but I mainly use the story as a source.)
AM has been reincarnated as an ex-military computer science professor named Alan Masterson. He also is the Major Shareholder for a budding company - Lemniscate Technologies. He uses that to dick around the employees. And as a professor he's a very strict grader, not very nice to his students. HOWEVER he is not the horribly malevolent, hateful, evil thing he was in the story... yet.
So because Alan/AM is not a very nice guy, feel free to opt-out if you're not comfortable interacting with him.

Chris here used to be a PhD student in engineering (specializing in drone avionics and AI) and adjunct professor of mathematics and computer science (teaching mostly grunt-level freshmen intro classes) at Locke; she's probably met him and most likely taken some of his classes. Also also, she's a giant air-force and military aviation nerd, so they have that in common as well?

I have a G1 Megatron account shhhalso my app for AM initially had a strikeout section about how he totally had an F-15 in the AF because Starscream. but I took that outOh man I need this CR so bad. Alan was in the AF himself (though he was discharged) so he might have grumbled about that to Chris at some point. It's possible she was a student he actually might have liked ffffff.

For pre-network CR, before joining up with the FBI, Gerald got his Masters' in Computer Engineering at LCU (and was a pretty dedicated student, if a little sarcastic), so it's incredibly likely that he probably took a few of his classes.

Yeah it's very likely Gerald took some of his classes! Alan may or may not have liked him, depending. He doesn't ever like his freshmen but he's usually fine with the grad students.

I'm Alec and I play this guy here - Sho from the movie Moon Child. In his past life, he was a street rat that grew up to become a mob boss and then was turned into a vampire by his BFF. In this life, he is a trust fund baby that's in America to 'find himself' and he brought with him his fancy sports car, his cosplay collection and his horse.

He is one of the pair of Jrockers that wrote and acted in a story that somehow mashed up everything except giant robots (the G-man saves that sort of thing for his concert storylines) so Rule Of Cool is in full-swing of the movie.
I did read the story in high school though I was one of those people who always thought that keeping one human alive in a slug-form was the worse punishment ever - as in not gory enough. It was during my punk 'studying horror for good ideas' phase.

That aside: Welcome to the game, Carbon! I'm Jax, and I play Snow from the FFXIII series. Right now he's just a car/motorcycle mechanic named Jake who just wanted a nice stable life when all this mess started up. There's probably not much as far as preestablished CR might go, but I'm hoping we get to play sometime!

And damn, I have beaten every single Final Fantasy I through XII (except XI) and I own Final Fantasy XIII but I STILL HAVEN'T PLAYED IT. DAMN IT. It's very close to the top of my "to play" list.... just need to get on it...
Yeah they probably don't have any CR unless Alan went to get his car repaired or something HAHAHA. But hopefully something can happen!

Oh man AM will be all over Daylen's human rights lawyerism. Alan studied anthropology in undergrad since he's fascinated by humans but at the same time is not a fan of them, so a lawyer advocating for their rights??? Wow, that's lame. This means CR needs to happen.

The second is Toph Beifong from Avatar, reincarnated as Sophie Bai, 13-year-old middle school student. She's sort of blunt and snarky still, but also is more polite and willing to work with people/ask for help in her current incarnation, partly because her family support system is a lot more awesome and less overprotective. She's still blind, and has a cane, although she got back her foot-sight recently. She's still practicing it.
And the third is Serah Farron, from Final Fantasy 13, reincarnated as Sierra Callahan. Sierra is a 20-year-old girl from a family of four (she has a younger brother) who works as a secretary at a local veterinary clinic. When she's not doing that, she attends classes in the four-year veterinary technologist program at Locke U. She's fairly cheerful and friendly, but she's also the most cautious of the three re: network information. Also her hair is currently light brown.
