A Wild Event has Appeared!

 Heeeey, StE-ers, who wants to talk about how the mafia has gotten info on over a dozen Numbered over the past seven weeks? I sure do. Let's talk consequences!

 

This here will be a plotting and questions post for things happening over the next two weeks: do you want the mafia to strike at your character in any way? They could do anything from just trying to scare them to trying to ruin their livelihood. They could even do nothing at all, and just bide their time until later! (Everything here is totally optional.)

 

Meanwhile, how did the mafia know any of this? That there sure is a mystery. Someone from the Network must have leaked! Here's the place to plot possible investigations and ask questions.

It definitely doesn't help that L will see the vandalism as really annoying and stupid, set his jaw, and immediately repair and rebuild. It's likely that "the message" will get swept aside in the interest of moving forward defiantly and bravely. So I think that escalation is inevitable.

That could work. He does have two cats though, an attentive black Siamese and a more skittish white tabby.

Unless you want to go the 'mafia tries to bring him to the dark side' route, what if the mafia vandalized some of his further-out properties, or messed with his family's homes, then? I don't have any of the authority to make these kinds of plots, but they might even try to press Shou into channeling money into them... Idk, they're just almost certainly after any added advantage they can get, and huge amounts of money is totally on that list.

... I am a cat owner, and it hurts me to even suggest this, but what if the mafia did something to his cats? Do you think that'd be overboard? It could plausibly be anything from actual injury to just bagging them and dropping them off somewhere random elsewhere...

It pains me too. Xander would definitely not forgive the mafia for harming his cats or even stealing them. (He got Connor, the black Siamese, when he was a kitten and after the death of his twin brother. So, they've been together for about seven years.)

They can try and it might work slightly until he echoes back enough of his canon personality which was 'fry anyone that tells me what to do; i go my own way' kind of mobness. He also would know tricks to channeling money that they wouldn't - his father does it honestly in Japan after all.

So we talked about it briefly in a PP a while back, but possible kidnapping/ransom with Anthony against Richard? He also now works at Espresso Yourself, so further links with the numbered crew there.

I remember we talked about Cesar leaking him and there being consequences later, but my memory is crap and I don't remember much beyond that! You'll need to talk something like a kidnapping over with the mods, since all I'm orchestrating here are some vandalisms and possible roughing-ups. (If he gets kidnapped Cesar's gonna feel bad.)

Hello. I'm just wondering if there's a place for Fuyuka in all of this, considering she started offering assistance to Chuck, what with his connection to the mafia and the Blood Keys. If not, it's cool, I just wanted to see if it was a possibility.

If she's leaked her name or info anywhere (or if you want her to leak any of it), Cesar can leak her to the mafia and she could be on the list of possible victims! She could also just plain be in the wrong place at the wrong time, like being in Espresso Yourself when shit goes down!

If you don't want that, we can also take a different route where she could get in trouble by sheer association with Chuck, though we should probably talk that over with Chuck-mun before we actually think of anything specific. A three-way plurk could be good for that!

Bottom line: there is totally room for you here, if we can brainstorm enough. <3

I mentioned this briefly when talking about the potential of running afoul of Chuck at Thunder, but HAVING KEPT DERPING OUT OF THROWING ANYONE AT THIS, I'd still be down for something given the opportunity. Bearing in mind that most if not all of these would probably also require involvement from muns of characters that are heavily linked to them, and probably would require some discussion with them too~

Lily as a Precure has been pretty public and is prominent on the Network; Neil as one of the Gundam pilots got caught on TV after the Wise Snake and has made himself and his affiliation with the FBI known on the Network. Due to the FBI connection, I am not sure if that would encourage or deter setting anyone after him or his family. SARETHA I BELIEVE WE HAVE DISCUSSED A LITTLE BIT.

While Natalie-- ah, I see you've already been talking with her roommate Fuyuka above~

I actually still don't know a thing about Natalie, but I see Lily is over 18! I kind of want him to avoid her due to her youth anyway, but he's already tossed in Fred, Anthony, and Kara (due to desperation to make info-ends meet), so I may poke at his canon tendency to assume 'yeah they can probably handle this', if we want Lily to be leaked!

Neil: Yeah I think Cesar's going to avoid leaking him due to FBI stuff, even if he totally would have him noted down by now!

Saretha: WE NEED TO PLOT GREAT THINGS BETWEEN THESE TWO, JUST FYI.

Lily would require input from Jasmine + Winter's muns, but the thing about them is they don't so much have to be leaked as, "Cesar wouldn't have even had to say anything, all they need to do is have turned on the TV in March." So while I can't say on that one without said input, it's worth noting! (In fact, Lily turns 19 in a few days.)

Natalie hasn't yet made a post, and has just been replying to people because she's wary about this whole echo and network thing. However, if Fuyuka gets involved she may get affected by it! Which I am all for.

And yes, I am totally up for plotting WHATEVER with Saretha.

Aaah, okay! Well, as you may already know, Fuyuka-mun and Chuck-mun and I actually have a plotting plurk open right now, so there may be stuff in the works after it's done! Be on the lookout for it. :3

Ahaha if you're up for anything then I have a suggestion (which you can totally take or leave): Cesar wants to see where Saretha's plans take her, and wouldn't mind helping behind the scenes. He's scared of doing anything too overt that might put his family and brother in danger, but he wants to do something, and honestly he wouldn't mind doing something big. He has the potential to echo back important programming skills, fantastic nanite design skills, and whatever the skills were that let him climb to influential positions in the labs and organizations that he did and stay there. (Family connections may have helped, but hey, he used that, didn't he?)

Considering that there's not much to have in STE in the way of nanite-building or artificial intelligence-creating without a looot more echoes, he might be most useful if he were to echo back some of his organization and office-politics-savvy-ness. Do you have any hopes/plans for where Saretha might go with her plans, someday?

Saretha would more than likely be interested in such help! So long as she can figure out some plausible deniability, at the very least.

Nailing down long term plans for her is a thing I have to be careful with, especially since she's not in position to orchestrate a 14 year plan here, as opposed to Satsuki. :p Either way I'm kind of looking at her plans in short bursts, depending on the ways plot swings, though so far every bit of plot has only helped her.

More detail might be easier on Plurk sometime, but for the immediate future it's trying to push people to be more proactive, but not stupid with it. A gambit she took by kicking Raye all around the Dead District, but one which paid off because Raye regained her full powers in the process. The reincarnates getting stronger and becoming more and more capable - and savvy - is the first thing she wants to push for.

Yes hello, I'm actually very much interested in having Eriks (who's FBI) stick his nose into mafia business however possible (and eat any consequences, of course, because he's an idiot 8Db)

He's been talking to Chuck some and is pretty well convinced there are a few Numbereds on the inside, and he's reckless enough that he'd probably try investigating into that somehow. I've just been trying to work out a good opening for that, so I figured I'd drop a comment here.

By the time the shit really hits the fan I want as many people looking into what's going on that Cesar has to constantly watch what he says, and can't every completely get away from it. Vash could be one of the detectives that clues on to the fact that the Numbereds on the inside aren't just being harmless anymore, when these attacks start?
