This picturesque shoreline mountain just outside of Kirkwall is the largest in the Vinmark range. And it houses a number of fascinating features! Below it runs a cavern system, great for hiding out, stashing stuff, whatever. The topography makes it great for hiding all kinds of things, really, including encampments and ambushes, apostates on the lam, you name it!
It is mineral-rich as well, and the Bone Pit (a large mine that also happens to house a large dragon nest) is dug along one of its slopes.
It's also the site of an ancient battle, and especially near the summit, the Veil is thin, making it easy to summon demons or resurrect a Witch of the Wilds. The Dalish Elves hold a spiritual significance to it, and there's even a secret cavern guarded by one of their most fearsome protectors. And did we mention it's haunted? Because it totally is.
Picturesque scenery, valuable mineral and plant resources, secret caves, ghosts and ancient horrors! What's not to love?
