Hello Earthlings~! Haley/Sasame-mun here with a brand new character! Aaaand it's another guy with wings. I was going to app a girl but, y'know, sometimes the muse just leads you elsewhere.

This is Joshua Christopher from Chrono Crusade (manga version, specifically), reincarnated as Joshua Christopher Simmons. In his previous life he was a kid with holy powers (including pretty angel wings) that got demon horns slapped onto his head and went completely bonkers from it. In his new life, he's the son of a pastor with some deep insecurities that spends too much time playing video games. He's pretty sane. ...For now.

There's actually quite a few opportunities for pre-game CR with this one if you'd like!

Joshua was homeschooled for a while, but just started going to public school again in 2012. If your character goes to Locke High School or works there, they might know him! At school he's usually pretty quiet, and hangs out with the geekier kids. (Additionally, he was also originally pulled out of public school when he was 9 after being suspended for a fist fight with some bullies--feel free to have had your character know about this.)

Joshua's father, Glen Simmons, is the pastor of a decently sized Generic Conservative Evangelical Christian Church (I'll figure out a name for it eventually IDK). If your character is the religious type of the Christian variety, feel free to assume they go to the church and know Joshua from there. In church he's a bit more stiff, but outgoing, than he is in school.

Joshua hangs out a lot online, usually going by the handle 'JC.' He also plays a lot of video games, including at least one MMO and probably a few shooters.

Why do I still know virtually nothing about Chrono Crusade - he does sound like the sort of character whose Echo-regaining process shall be a mix of fascinating and slightly painful, at any rate~

And also, on my end, I could see Anthony knowing him - though they're the same age and grade, seeing as my boy's bookish but not so much as pop-culture-savvy and has only recently been getting so-to-speak geekiness lessons from Bakura, probably moreso from church than school (his family's Catholic, should that make a difference)! Also I suppose partly dependent on how Joshua's respond to the fact that Anthony's making friends manifests as saying something that sounds all polite and intelligent punctuated with the sort of "Did I do good?" smile that gets accompanied by a disembodied sheep noise in cartoons.

Oh gosh if you ever want me to TL;DR at you I could probably fix the "know virtually nothing about Chrono Crusade" bit. But it might turn into I know WAY too much about Chrono Crusade now, lol. But yeah, the Echoes should be...interesting! I've only ever played him post-manga, where he's mostly recovered from the insanity caused by the horns, so I'm a bit nervous about playing him once the horns come into play!

I don't think Anthony and Joshua would know each other from church--Evangelical churches are more Protestant than anything, so religiously Joshua and Anthony's parents would probably have a lot of theological differences. Joshua canonically likes to read a lot, though, so they might be at least casual acquaintances at school?

Possibly! :D Maybe something like WoW where there's Horde vs Alliance or whatnot? has never had the money to play WoW T~T Since I assume Joshua would play for the side of good and Bakura sides with the ghouls and creeps ;)

Or if there are guilds based on location where one split off from the other.

Yeah, something like that would probably work! I've tried to get into MMOs but I never last long in them so I'm relying a little on what I've learned from osmosis, lol.

So, the guild Locke on a WoW clone/off brand had some drama and split between "forces of good" and "forces of evil" and then went to war with each other? Since Bakura goes by "DreamEater" in game and has used it on the network as well.. should be easy enough to uncover that eventually :D

lol, sure, I could see that. Joshua probably has some sort of elaborate fantasy name for his main--ehhh, let's say he named his character after the Poe poem/mythological angel Israfel? But he goes by 'JC' as an online handle, which he'll probably use on the Network too.

Also he plays healer, which probably means 'DreamEater' has killed him a few times during PvP. XD

tbh I'm pretty sure that some of the crazier moments in Chrono Crusade are heavily inspired by NGE so I must concede to this.
