Hello, everybody, I'm Nick and I will be bringing in Vin, the main character of the fantastic fantasy-adventure-heist novel "Mistborn."

In Locke City she will go by Vanessa Carter and is a a street kid turned moderately successful criminal mastermind petty thief and fraudster so she's somebody to go to if stuff needs to be stolen. She's currently looking for a way out of the criminal life but has a few problems still in her way like being wanted by the law, owing a good deal of money to the underworld and her past incarnation coming back to haunt her.

Looking forward to jumping in and playing with you all. I don't have a Plurk at the moment but it seems I'll need to look into getting one. Until then you can reach me on AIM under YamiKuja to chat or work out any plot or CR ideas.

Ooh, those are troublesome problems. And if I know muns, that last is absolutely not going to help the others. (She could get back, say, 3,000 boxings, which could feasibly be turned into salable gold if not sold on their own. Instead she'll probably get, I dunno, memories of Camon and Reen, right?)

Anyway, hi, Nick! I'm KD, though I'm thinking of going by Waffle Sorter. I've got Fred here who used to be Felix, and Sarah who used to be Fluttershy (whom you've met) and I'm still working on the Sazed I told you about. Got most of his reincarnation down now, but the voice is still slightly eluding me.

You know, I never even thought about her getting boxings from her echoes? Did they even say what they were made out of? Oh well, memories of Reen and Camon are much more likely or even Steelpushing without any idea how to use it properly!

*shrugs* It seems to me those three thousand from the first book, at least, would be significant enough to get Echoed if you wanted. And I'm not sure how uniform they are, but I do remember when Kelsier was teaching her gold he filed down a boxing to get it.

Good point, I forgot about that being where she got gold from. A gigantic box of gold coins would be a pretty nice Echo to get but I am not nearly generous or kind enough to my characters to give them something like that. So months of nothing but bad memories and copper Allomancy it is! *diabolical laugh complete with dramatic thunderclap*

I'm Gail, and I play this fellow here, who is a Victorian werewolf from the Parasol Protectorate books, and also a local high school biology teacher. Plus I play Arhu, a wizard kitten from Diane Duane's Young Wizards books (sorta-kinda, it's actually a spin-off from it...), who in this life is a not-so-wizardly kitten named Gomez. He'll get there, though :)

I'm Blue, player of Anthony from the video game Eternal Darkness, former messenger boy turned zombie, now rather serious but goody-goody also-former high school student on account of also-zombie; Rarity from My Little Pony, unicorn tailor reincarnated as a family pet pony named Cinderella; and Sho Minamimoto from The World Ends With You, spectral-government would-be-overthrower maniacal punk, reincarnated as somewhat more standard cheerily-punk Shawn Minamoto.

Hey bro hey! Welcome to the game! I'm Krystal, one of the mods, and I play Aragorn/Aaron Strider here and also Ichigo Kurosaki/Mamoru Nakamura at 15minuteslate.

Of the two, Aaron's loads more likely to know Vin, since he and Mordin Solus run a charity clinic down near the Dead District that specializes in people who can't/don't want to go to a normal doctor or hospital. Uninsured, no ID, criminal, homeless, altered by Echoes...you get the idea. LSR Clinic's well known enough among the homeless as somewhere you can go that won't ask questions and won't charge you more than you can pay (and also will deal you pot on the side if you ask Dr. Strider. Mordin doesn't know). Think he's patched Vanessa up before?

I was thinking much the same. Like Vin, Vanessa isn't much for making friends but a clinic like that is exactly the kind of place she'd go to. I'm sure she's been in and out of there a few times either sick or kind of battered and bruised, paid cash and taken off until the next time. She also might have bought some pot occasionally if only just to resell later.

And, hey, Mamoru might have seen her hanging around Starbucks pickpoocketing the college kids and maybe a tip jar!

Sounds good! Aaron comes off as kind of sketchy in that he doesn't bat an eyelash at treating odd injuries or people with checkered pasts (or checkered presents). He's a kind person in that he'll go above and beyond for anyone who needs the extra help, but that kindness is usually hidden by professional distance and pragmatism. So the CR there is likely positive, since it doesn't seem like Vanessa would try to steal anything from the clinic?

Oh yeah, definitely positive CR. Vanessa would never steal from the clinic or even anybody in there at the time if Aaron frowns on pickpocketing in his clinic. Partially because robbing the clinic that fixes her up for cheap is just a terrible idea, and also because when there's only one place she can go to for help and where somebody shows her any kindness (hidden by professionalism or not) that means something to her. Not that she'd say as such, being pretty happy to keep her distance as well.

HOWEVER, IT IS OPEN SEASON ON TIP JARS DOWN AT STARBUCKS. SHE'S JUST DOING IT FOR FUN NOW.

Excellent!! Though Aaron won't judge her doing it elsewhere, he most definitely frowns on pickpocketing in his clinic -- the people in his clinic either can't spare it or would be very inadvisable to steal from. SO YES this all sounds good to me!

HONESTLY I LOVE BOTH OF THESE IDEAS. I can't tell you which I'm more excited for, since I love me some negative CR and it's about time someone got Mamoru mad! His reincarnation is super laid back and super tolerant, but if she keeps showing up and jacking people's shit

As for Aaron, he's probably not going to post to the network all that soon, but if you ever want to thread anything in the clinic, hit me up via PM? Lately, he's gotten a few interesting items in his lost and found: a broken sword, a glass orb, a ~mysterious letter~....and there's a potted plant in the window of his examining room that smells really, really nice. Other than that, though, there's nothing lying around that would let her know that he's in the Super Secret Numbers Club.

How far back through the network archives will Vanessa go? Because Strider's got a video post up a while back, but it's been a couple of weeks.

The potential is amazing.

I'm looking around for places to start getting her involved with the action so I can toss her in there so hilarity and shenanigans.

Now that Vanessa knows that her, apparently magic, notepad can play videos I can say she went further back and spotted his video. She might go see him just to confirm that she isn't totally crazy and that it's all actually happening. I can go and set up a log if you like.
