SALUTATIONS, STE. My name is Azi, and on top of adding to your list of newbies, I am increasing your vampire population by one as well.

This here is John Mitchell from Being Human, the UK version; he prefers to be referred to as Mitchell in his past life but goes by John nowadays. In canon, he was a very guilt-ridden vampire who just wanted to stop drinking blood and killing people. So what does he do to try and preserve his humanity? Become housemates with a werewolf and a ghost. Of course, this is the most sensible thing to do.

In this life, John's twenty-four and working at Open Arms, a local homeless shelter, doing his thing as a social worker after graduating from LCU a few years back. He's been living in Locke City since he was 13, but originally, John's from Ireland. Other than that, he's a recovering alcoholic, is still struggling to pay off his college debt, and doesn't really get along with his family, but hey! He's a nice enough guy and doesn't bite just yet. For those interested in the more detailed version of his history, his app is linked on his info page here. If anyone's up for it, I would love some pre-game CR. Classmates from college? Connections from work? Regulars at Starbucks? I'll take anything. 8D

My name is Myth and I play Riku and maybe someday a Tony. Pre-CR is always good! For recovering alcoholic, Riku's had some drug problems so perhaps they were in some of the same programs at the rehab center? -- or what kind of social worker might John be?

Why thank you! And yes, when all these people start craving the red stuff, there should totally be a vampire club. There will be enough brooding, tomato juice, leather, lace, and coffins for everyone! Including their human guests--I mean, uh.

Ahhh, Riku! And a maybe someday Tony!! Both excellent character choices, if I may say so myself.

As for stuff at the rehab center, John spent a longer amount of time there when he was in high school, but he did relapse in his freshman year in college. (I'm... not sure exactly how those times would check out with when Riku was there.) In regards to his job, he's technically trained as a substance abuse social worker (with a focus, unsurprisingly, in alcohol abuse), but at his current job, he's more... all-purpose: he'll help set people up with resources, do a bit of counseling, and make sure they're doing okay in whatever situation they're in. It's not exactly a big organization that he's working for, so he does whatever he can to help out.

Hm, he's 25 and Riku's 20, turning 21 in November, Riku was in rehab around 17 which means 22, yeah he'd be in college or a fresh grad. XD I was thinking that John might've worked with a group he was in (+ a senior worker?), maybe, unless you'd be fine with something more involved, like if he's Riku's uhm case worker of sorts, because he did get caught for drug use when he was underage and was rather ah, uncooperative, at the start. xD;; That'd mean he checks in with Riku regularly via phone or a quick meeting at regular intervals to see how he's doing, not relapsing, etc. I'm unfamiliar with the system, so if that doesn't work out, no problem either. xD

...yes. This... is a thing that needs to happen. They come in, and instead of having a needle stuck in them, the uh. "Donor" just sits down, offers their neck/arm, and FEEDING TIME. Mmm. Delicious. :9

You know, I was thinking about it, and apparently, social work majors have to take on pretty extensive internships before getting their degree? So maybe Riku could have been part of his... final semester internship? :|a John graduated when he was 22, so that'd be his final spring semester--and he'd probably be ready to take on a troublesome case like Riku?

Failing that, I'm not sure John would be able to simply pick up Riku as a case worker or anything right out of school, since he'll be associating almost exclusively with the people who come in to the homeless shelter he works at. That said, if Riku has to do any volunteer work and he just happens to end up at said homeless shelter... Well, I think it'd be okay for John to be assigned to keep an eye on him while he was there?

Yeeeep. I actually would love to see all the vampires compare their vampirism. xD Like which ones need blood and which ones just like the taste/get cravings, which ones are afraid of garlic and sunlight, etc. Dude. VAMPIRE CON.

Ooh, haha, community service might work! Riku would go stir crazy if he had to stay indoors doing paperwork for community service. xD He'd get all twitchy, esp with the withdrawals, would feel like he couldn't breathe. He'd be okay with like clean ups, soup drives, and other things, though! :D

I feel like there needs to be a spreadsheet for this or something. But yeah, once the vampirism is in full swing that there definitely needs to be like a vampire con. They can have panels! "How to handle your vampirism in a modern society!" And stuff. Yes. 8D

Community service it is then! :D John will probably start him on paperwork before putting him to better use. How long do you think they'll have been working together? And uh. Would they have been at each other's throats the entire time (no pun intended) or more like bros after the initial awkwardness fades?
