Hiya, Earthlings! I'm a new player, Haley, and I am SUPER excited to be here omg you have no idea.

This is Sasame from the ultra-shoujo magical girl anime known as Prétear! (Info post here, app here.) In his former life, Sasame was a handsome host of a popular pop-psychology radio show for teenage girls...who was actually an endlessly-reincarnating knight sworn to protect the life energy of the world, using his abilities to control the element of sound, as well as granting the Prétear/Chosen One the ability to transform into a magical girl through sex combining their life energy together and becoming one.

(No, I have no idea how "sound" became an element. They needed seven knights so they could say it's a retelling of Snow White so I'm guessing they just ran out of ideas really quickly.)

In his current life, Sasame is now Sasame Iwata--who chose to go by "Sam" because it's way, way easier for Americans to spell and remember. He's a former teen dreamboat who is now an college student at LCU with a talent for music, but has given up his dreams of being a musician and is instead studying psychology (partially due to his hard-working but somewhat strict single mother, who will NOT have her only child playing a saxophone on the street for quarters).

Sasame Sam (boy that's going to take a while to get used to) has actually resisted the urge to try out his number until now, so he's going to be dropped right into the middle of the action with no idea about what's going on! Fun!

Two semi-important notes: Sam has had a reputation since high school of being a flirt, and it's pretty well known that he's dated several girls in quick succession since then--just a little under 20 girls in about 5 years. Feel free to have your character know this, or even know an NPC ex-girlfriend of his. (I'd also be happy to have pre-game CR that assumes your character is one of Sam's ex-girlfriends if you'd like--feel free to contact me if you want to do this and we can work out the details.)

Also! Although Sam's reincarnated from the anime version of Sasame, I'm using a lot of manga icons because I like the expressions there, and with his reincarnated appearance change he actually looks quite a bit like the manga version anyway.

Hiya Gail! I've been watching Lyall while I've been waiting for my app to go through and he seems like an awesome character! (Also I went to a steampunk con a few weeks ago where Gail Carriger was a guest, and I even ended up buying her most recent book as a gift for my sister-in-law. Clearly this is a sign that I need to read these books.)

And yes, I think it'd be awesome if he was a former student! Mr. Lyall will probably know that Sam is a hardworker with fairly good grades but wasn't the best at biology. Edit: Oh! and he wanted to be a professional musician as a kid. Not sure if he'd know that or not.

Hi Kero, welcome to the game yourself! I'm a big fan of Tales of Symphonia and I've been meaning to play the other games in the series for a while now--particularly Abyss, I'll probably get that for my 3DS soon-ish, hopefully! Sasame is not at all athletic, so he probably hasn't shown up at the gym, but I wouldn't be surprised if he does so soon considering what he's gotten himself into.

You'd think that if sound is an element, then scent or taste or something would be too, right? I mean...I can buy "light" as "sight", and fire/warmth and cold/ice as touch, but...

ToS is definitely my favorite out of all of them, but ToA runs a really close second!! I definitely recommend it if you liked Symphonia. I'm actually considering apping someone from ToS once I get settled here 8) and that's cool -- chances are they can run paths somewhere else, if not for sure on the network!

Hi there! I'm Airdra, and I play this Hajime, who's an immortal bug monster/Kamen Rider turned "guy that runs his family's restaurant" in this world.

Hajime has a younger sister Sam's age, so if you wanted an ex-girlfriend relationship that way...XD Hajime's a pretty overprotective big brother sort, and he would have been quietly trying to terrify and/or bully Sam the entire time.

LOL, I'm actually really amused by the idea of having one of the brothers of Sasame's exes be around! I think in that scenario Sam's relationship with her would've probably been strained a little by Hajime, so then when Sam decided he didn't love her as much as he thought and/or they got into a stupid argument I can see it dissolving pretty...dramatically. |D; Assuming Hajime's sister isn't the sort to just go along with Sam being a bit of a jerk, anyway.

Oh, man, she wouldn't tolerate him being a bit of a jerk well, and I can definitely see the dramatic breakup being a thing. XD Hajime would have been very happy about that...and then asking her if she wanted him to go break Sam's kneecaps or some other such overblown threat. Should be fun, hehe.

Sup! I'm Sam (ahaha) and I play Hajime #2 Saitou from Hakuouki (though he's currently going by Hajime Fujisai). He's also around the local university. Biochem/pre-med, so idk that they'd run into each other, but I bet we can make magic happen!

Man I saw your name after I chose Sasame's reincarnated name and I was all "Oh man this is going to be confusing." XD But hello!! I'm really excited to see Hajime around here because when I got Hakuouki for the PSP he was totally the first character I went after. (Although I haven't completed the entire game yet, just his route...I need to get on that.)

I can see them only having a passing knowledge of each other at best...but they'll get to know each other pretty well in the coming invasion, I'm sure. |D

Saitou is my favorite character forever but I actually think his route is lackluster compared to the others, so I highly recommend finishing it!

Wow, I actually really enjoyed his route, too, so that definitely makes me want to play the others! (Although there were some stuff I didn't like about it...like how passive the MC seemed to be on his route. I complained about it to my brother and then he played the game for shits and giggles and then he told me "My protagonist just took a bullet for her guy! =D" and he rubbed it in because he knew it would irritate me, pfft.)

The other routes are a little better at being different, which is what gets to me. Different final antagonists and whatnot...but Saitou's route skates kind of close to Hijikata's, but Hijikata's route does a better job of characterizing some of the supporting cast where they fall flat on Saitou's. That was what really made all the difference in the world to me - Saitou's route is great for Saitou and not so much for everybody else.

I also think it's a good one to play first, though, for that very reason...although I might just be biased since that's how I did it too, haha.

Mostly it just feels to me like it's the point where they just kind of went "EH, GOOD ENOUGH" and phoned in the rest. On the other hand, his route in the prequel game is fantastic if only we'd get it in English. cry.
