greetings children of the internet. my name is u00. unfortunately you have caught my attention, and so i have invaded your waters. you cannot escape, but feel free to scream all you like.

presenting one (1) Homestuck: D. Avery Strider (no, I'm not clever). she is the reincarnation of the one and only Dave Strider and she is horrible. proving that her life is a whirling dervish of what the fuck no matter what universe she inhabits, her mom is a meth addict who is perpetually in and out of jail, and she was raised by her sister after her grandma died immediately after getting custody of the both of them. she did not escape having a sibling pay for her upbringing with sex work, not now, not ever, so she's. you know. weird.

she shares a couple of hobbies with Dave, though she's been trying to take drawing more seriously, but her main interest is filmography. she makes videoblogs, mini documentaries, and short films (and once won an award on the internet!!!). she skateboards or bikes everywhere and reads e-books by the handful and drops references like they are literally on fire. if you interact with her, be prepared to show up on one of her blogs. she documents like a motherfucker. expect a vast passion for obnoxious pop artists and frequent use of purple comic sans. for more info, click link.

I MEAN Aaron's dad died when he was two and he hasn't had a whole lot of contact with that side of the family

distant or not-so-distant relations isn't impossible, especially since (from what I've seen of Avery's family) his mother would want to keep babby Aaron away from them

I MEAN THEY PROBABLY HAVEN'T MET. Aaron hasn't been in touch with that side of his family, and only knows a few names and a few stories attached to them. His dad's name was Thorton Strider, and Avery probably wouldn't have heard much except that Thorton got married to a girl significantly younger than him, settled down, had a kid, and then died in a car wreck. How exactly they're related...well, it could be anything, honestly.

Any particular ideas?

hmmmm I'm not sure the age would work out, though -- Aaron is 35, his mother is 55, and his dad would be in his late sixties right now if he were alive. Think it's more likely Thorton was Dawn Senior's younger brother?

oh yeah, avery is only 18 and her sister is only nine years older, so mom would probably only be like -- well, anyway.

so, that would make thorton avery's great uncle, right? so avery and aaron would be like... first cousins once removed? or second cousins? i can't remember the distinction.

aaron would be mumma strider's cousin in that case...
