Hello hello!! I'm Katherine, and I actually was here for a bit until rl things got in the way, ahaha. Instead of some weirdo who wants to bite people to death, though, this time I bring you N from Pokémon Black/White & Black 2/White 2!! Which isn't to say he isn't also a weirdo. He's... definitely kind of out there.

In this life, his name is Noel Harmonia, his hair is brown instead of green, and your characters may know him as an eccentric math professor at Locke University! He sometimes (always) gets sidetracked in his lectures to talk about the BEAUTY OF NATURE!! EXCUSE ME, IS THAT A WATER BOTTLE I SEE? THOSE ARE TERRIBLE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT. THROW IT OUT RIGHT AWAY AND NEVER BRING ONE TO MY CLASS EVER AGAIN I mean whew what came over me? He just likes nature a lot, and hates everything from pollution to animal abuse to the use of plastic water bottles. Ironically, he also really dislikes PETA, but he is just as fanatical as they are.

But he actually is a pretty good professor, weird habits aside! And sometimes brings homemade vegan cookies to class.

Nice to meet you!! o/ Aaah and that would be cool if they were!! I was thinking he probably teaches at least one fundamental/required course in the department, so the chances he's met somebody at least a few times is pretty decent.

She'll be so surprised to see N in the network, tbh. In fact, she'll go "professor what are you doing here???" and freak out a little.

He'll probably be freaked out too, haha, but he probably... always comes off as a little bit freaked out about something :')

Makes sense to me, since even with majors entirely unrelated to the sciences, one is still expected to take some math. Suzaku's got an attitude with other students nine times out of ten, but he behaves differently toward professors. If nothing else he's probably known for being right on time and sitting in the front row, if not high grades. His godfather's got expectations, after all.

Think he'd just ignore the speeches about nature...or be the one to ask about that equation they were just on.

His ideal kind of student! N's probably attempted to wrangle Suzaku into the math major a few times, haha. And he's probably stupidly hard to shake off, too. What do you mean people might not feel so strongly or positively about number theory?? Impossible!!

Oh lord, relentless math assault. Suzaku won't know how to politely handle that but he will try so hard. To be polite. And clear. And probably just end up awkward because manners aren't blunt. He's already in the military, gomenasorry!

Naturally I'd get a chuckle at his expense.

shit, I just realized, he probably knows Chris, since Chris teaches the entry-level math & programming courses part-time sometimes. And if he teaches any graduate-level math, she's taken some as part of her general reqs.

as a teacher she's a hardass. As a student she's clearly REALLY smart and understands the material, but has a habit of backtalking and sassing and forgetting to do the work.

ooh, they almost definitely have crossed at some point, I'd think! He teaches at least one general requirement for the department, so there's probably some decent overlap!!

for upper-level classes, his specialties are number theory and ring theory \o/ ahaha, if she's been his student he's probably had a few "now, I know you're a smart student, BUT...." conversations with her (which are totally hypocritical because he forgets a lot of stuff too /o\)

Given that she's in computer science and engineering (she does avionics programming for UAVs :V ) proooobably not. But he's def. seen her around the math dept. offices then :3

she has a reputation for being really brutal with problem sets and kind of an unforgiving grader

... wondering now if she's been chewed out for her habit of wearing leather jackets by him :\a

actually, they may have! number theory covers encryption and other things related to c.s. o/

How likely do you think a csci/programming gradstudent would need to take graduate math classes? ~~why am i not just looking that up for my own college seriously~~ Because Miranda here is one of those (although she just moved in) and may be studying the LCU faculty just to see who she has to deal with.

it would probably depend on whether she wanted to...? in a few math classes i've taken, we covered compsci-related topics, but i don't think they were required for compsci students.

(if she uses ratemyprofessor, n probably has a HOT RED CHILI PEPPER, not that he understands what that means....)
