Plot post for July 30!

This format of plot post is designed for players to ask questions and find ways to influence the plot. Be bold and ask what you can or can't do; the worst that can happen is that I will say no. As plots in Save the Earth are not self resolving nor on a time limit they can evolve in many ways. Although some potential outcomes are given, they are little more than suggestion and can be changed by character action. What role you take is up to you.

The post is also open for players to plot and coordinate between one another.

Events occurring currently;
• The Vermini swarms have disappeared for the most part, and there's no sign of Vermedi either. Some characters may glimpse hairy figures in dark alleys or in sewers, but the creatures always disappear as soon as they are spotted.

• There are an unusual amount of police patrols out and about in the city. Any suspicious activity will be noticed, though there are no immediate IC consequences.

• We also have two super secret event opportunities that have not been claimed. Two commenters to the thread below will be randomly selected for this plot.

Events occurring in the immediate future;
• Beginning Friday, August 2, there will be something in the water. Drinking any tap water will result in occasional, uncontrollable fits of laughter, along with re-experiencing previous Echoes, especially memory Echoes. One Echo per 8oz glass of water, and the beginning of its effects can be delayed for up to an hour. Within six hours it'll be out of the character's system completely.

• If PCs wish to investigate Thunder Corp this week, comment to the thread below with a general idea of how you plan to get in and what you plan to do once you're there. Details will be forthcoming on a case-by-case basis.

Potential Echo Opportunities:
• Drinking the tainted water will grant one new Echo (and only one, no matter how much water is drunk) in addition to any re-experienced ones. Uncovering any secret information about Thunder Corp will also grant an Echo. Canon parallels are a constant.

Goodness knows he's dying for actual competition. But you know, the kind that won't rip his liver out or something if he loses. Because he assumes that's what weird mutant creatures do.

Luckily for Suzaku, Regina hasn't regained her extremist tendencies a.k.a the willingness to kill for the sake of Japan and people she loves, so he should be okay, all things considered. She's less scary than the furry monsters of doom!

One of these days, he's gonna remember this girl kicking his ass in a ballgown and wonder "Why the hell did I just stand there and take that!?" It's gonna be beautiful.

Meantime they're pretty well matched for sparring. Suzaku's got his running back but doesn't have the insane coordination to go with, and I don't think he's gonna run at Regina...funny as it'd be.

It's gonna be a beautiful trainwreck with these two. Oh God, if he does run at Regina and pin her down, just you watch, she'll suddenly remember him on top of her while she's butt naked outside near the waterfalls. "WHY ARE YOU A SICK PERVERT GET OFF GET OFF"

For physical echoes, she only has 50% of her trained soldier stamina and strength. No super quick reflexes or crazy gymnastics for this girl, so she's normal for the most part.

Well, that may have to happen sometime just for that. Because Suzaku not knowing what the hell is going on? Always priceless. Then again he's just so fun to inconvenience and baffle. He's sort of trying to teach himself to not slam into things when he tries to stop running, so we could mess with that at some point.

Suzaku's reasonably normal too. He's a trained soldier, but he's in training to be a pilot, so he's not like a Marine or anything. And of course he's a nerd for kendo always, but that doesn't matter for hand-to-hand.

Oh, Suzy. 8( You should always learn how to steer your feet in the right direction so you don't bump into fiery tsunderes. But yes, I'm up for this!

In Regina's case, her older brother was the one who taught her how to fight, so she's not really classically trained like Suzaku is. It'd be interesting to see how these two duke it out in non-epic war circumstances.

Awesome, that's gonna be a blast. Want to save that for after this giggle-water event has passed? Any timing is fine by me really but I do like planning.

It will definitely be interesting. Because their styles differ in that way, they might even learn from each other, which'd be cool. All the better to give each other really suspicious looks someday down the line.

After the giggle-water event sounds good to me! I was originally planning a post with Regina announcing the need for sparring partners, but I'm not sure how long the event would last so I didn't want it to conflict with the incoming posts, you know?

Regina could stand to learn something new from a politician's son, I think! It might make her change her mind a little if they don't give each other suspicious looks first.

Makes sense to me. When she inquires about it, I'll be sure to have Suzaku hit that up.

And Suzaku could stand to get some differing perspective too. Goodness knows he's a rigid, stubborn creature. Hopefully they do manage before suspicious looks come into play, haha.
