Back to School Plotting!

With school starting up all over the place, I believe it was decided that Locke High will start up next week (someone smack me if I have this wrong!) As such, here's a plotting post for all the high (and middle) school students to work out classes, who has what lunch and general shenanigans!

Post your character, what grade level and any plans you have for the school year and have at it!

Marisa is now a senior at Locke High and taking a bunch of AP classes.

The big thing I wanted was for her to throw one last summer bash before everyone has to go back to school, with drunken shenanigans. I tried a second one a little while ago, but it was really haphazard and didn't go anywhere. Tentative guest list: Bakura, Alex, Tavia, Alan, Aria, Mara for people Marisa knows, and I wanted to get excuses to get most of the other homestuck kids around if I could, but she doesn't really know a lot of them (Roxy, Karkat, Davery, Kanaya).

ALSO as was discussed on plurk, a plot that ends in people thinking that Marisa and Bakura are in ~*~True Love~*~, stemming from a misunderstanding when Bakura was trying to get some stalkers off his back.

Just don't expect any flowers or anything. Just more high score wars and maybe coming over for video games~

It would be kind of funny to have it briefly start veering into real romance for a little while, then they're both like "....nah."

Alrighty then. Marisa wouldn't initiate anything like that either, so just buds. The hilarity will come from other people not being quite willing to believe that they're not in love.

Oh hey, and then this year will have the senior prom.

Bakura | 11th Grade, Locke High

Bakura will be in mostly general/low level classes again this year, but I'm planning on having his guidance counselor and possibly some of his teachers encouraging him to take a class at LockeU for his second semester to try and jump start his interest in school.

Making a fresh appearance this school year will be Bakura's fan club! Thanks to Twilight, the fact that he openly scorns and tries to shun them only has made these NPCs worse with their swooning over his white hair and tragic past. This year, however, he has a plan to fight back, and will be faking that he's dating Marisa to get them to back off. Clearly, he has no idea how the fangirl mind works.

By all means. Having someone stand up for her will fuel the slowly growing insecurity Marisa has at being part of the Numbers Network and not having any super powers.

Lyall is teaching AP Biology for anyone wanting to take it, and regular biology and health. He will also be hosting the first Numbers Club of the year that Monday, the 26th.

Yep, 7th. Because he's a gradeskipper, is what he is. As far as his classes go:

Math Honours
English Honours
Science Honours
History Honours
PE
Art

Notice a theme, here? If it's academic, he's in the honours program. Because he's smart and hardworking and all that boring stuff. And he will, of course, show up at the Numbers Club meetings at the highschool.

Phillip is in elementary school still and I think he's the only one so???

Neku is entering his sophmore year. He's on the track team and in the art club, as well as taking art as one of his electives. He's in super advanced math, and then regular advanced (I have no idea if these are real terms they're what my middle school used and lol homeschooling) for everything else.

Kairi is in college but I don't think there are other psych majors. But she will be cheerleading and working at the student rec center?

Danny is entering either his sophomore or junior year (in my mind I apped him in as halfway through sophomore year but uh it was actually the middle of july, so I don't know jeial;fjal;hg), I'll figure out which one he is based on other high school folk here...

Basically what I've got planned for him so far is he's gonna get beat up in the first week of school and that is about as much as I have right now. Anyone who also wants to beat up this guy or do something more creatively terrible to him, I am open!!! Anyone who wants to share classes, or share lunch, or have awkward run-ins in the bathroom (I'm lookin' at you, Shinji), I am up for just about anything!

Miles Asher/11th grade Locke High

Or 3rd year high. Because he's a flipping grade skipper. I don't know how American schools and classes work, so I'm basically just winging it here. But uh, I imagine he'll be in really advanced maths and sciences and regular advanced in everything else. He's also going be in robotics as his extra-curricular because BOT BUILDING IS THE BEST OKAY.

DJ is a new student going into his sophomore year at Locke High. He won't be on any clubs, but he spends a lot of time in the computer lab after school, before school, on lunch break, during passing time when he thinks he can get away with it...

Rhyme's a seventh grader who skipped a grade, so her classes are basically:

Honors Science
Honors History
Honors Math
PE
Art

....And she'll probably be in the History club, if there is one. Maybe Toshirou can drag her to a Numbers meeting.

ARIA MEGIDO is going into the 11th grade (...OR THE 12TH GRADE? I AM NOT SURE, WHATEVER THE MAJORITY OF 16 YEAR OLDS ARE DOING I CAN'T REMEMBER WHAT IT WAS) in high school. She's on the cross-country team but THAT'S IT, that is the extent of her school involvement outside class - though she is joining the numbers club thing. She is probably taking things like: AP History, English, Spanish, Honors Chem, Honors Physics, Photography, Algebra II.

SOPHIE BAI is going into the 8th grade in middle school, and she is on no school teams and in no school clubs. She's taking the required courses there, so like...English, Earth Science, Pre-Algebra, History, Biology, French. She's excused from her PE requirement.

Most 16 year old would be going into 11th, yeah. 16-17 is 11th, 17-18 is 12th. By the time you graduate 12th everybody should be 18. Unless they doubled up to graduate early, but...

So if she's in 11th, it'd be honors History more than AP since AP tends to just be for 12th grade. Wanna have them in class together again? :)

Ah, really? I took AP classes in junior year, and friends took them in freshmen/sophmore. B|a I think it might differ from school to school, perhaps?

I thought the AP test was only for senior year classes? Might be different terminology...

And for History, since Bakura's in honors history, one of the few honors classes he's in :)

I'm not sure what you're getting at, so it might be different terminology! But I do know you can take AP classes at pre-senior levels; I just looked it up to double-check myself and asked my sister, who did take AP courses throughout high school (I also did some but was second-guessing myself).

Different terms then, yeah. AP at the high school I worked at was for classes taking the AP tests at the end of the year, which was just seniors pretty sure. Gave you functionally college credit for those classes. Sorry for being confusing!

A while ago I had vague plans of Marisa trying to put together a punk rock band at some point. Perhaps I should dust those off to add to Locke City's amateur music scene.

TRAVIS MARTIN is going into the 12th grade! He'll be joining up with the numbers club and can probably be found playing cards with some friends in one of the conference rooms at lunch, but other than that he's not terribly involved. I'm thinking about starting up an after school D&D group (a couple of them, actually) so maybe that could be a thing!

He's taking some Honors classes and he's in AP English, looking to take some co-op classes at the vet clinic.

Winter's a senior at Locke High; she's taking a few higher-level classes because she's intrigued, but she's still trying not to stand out too much. Except for, y'know, the fact that she somehow got convinced to run for student council last year, and now she's ended up its secretary.

As a result, Winter's going to be running a lot of errands and will be a much more public figure than she's used to. Expect to see her attempting to talk at people. She'll also have many more opportunities to run into the rest of the high school crowd, and on some of her errands possibly the middle school students.

She will be taking time out for the Numbers Club, though, and will be happy to assist with schoolwork if she has time.

...I apped Mikasa thinking OK SOPHOMORE but it was in the summer so now I don't know if she just finished sophomore year or is starting it. I'M SMOOTH.

Either way, she's in every AP/honors class available to her and makes setting the grade curve look effortless because that's what Mikasas do, and she's deep into marching band because who doesn't love short girls with big sousaphones. (Though someday she may suddenly get her missing four inches of height echoed back because I have an awful sense of humor.)

Shinji is going to be a freshman, probably in the "regular" level classes because he's not confident enough to sign up for higher level classes or even really excel academically. He doesn't have any extracurricular activities, spends a lot of his day playing Neopets on his phone if he can get away with it, probably goes to the computer lab during study hall to play Neopets?! And he's generally quiet during school and has no friends.

Also he's probably got some sort of home ec elective and idk in some schools freshmen can take biology how are we doing this because he likes animals.

Sasha is definitely in all the regular level classes, gets in trouble for eating in class a lot and is basically a teacher's nightmare class clown. She's in the archery club and plays trumpet in the marching band. I need to think more about Sasha's school life.

Kanti is in junior year or something with Karson even though she is gonna be like 18 next month shhhhhhhhsshhshhshhs. She takes all the same classes as Karson. Every single one. Somehow this has happened for as long as they've known each other, even though they never plan it.

Other than that, Kanti is in band + drama + agriculture club. She puts minimal effort into the first two.
Band: Karson and Teresa made her do it. She plays the triangle apathetically. I don't know shit about band.

Drama: She makes the costumes and occasionally paints the sets. She doesn't ever get on the stage proper and doesn't like most of the club, but she gets to do period gowns on the school's budget so w/e.

Agriculture: The school has the obligatory garden project somewhere in the back of the school. Kanti is growing some pretty decorative plants for her part in it. No one is growing a lush crop of marijuana on the school campus. No one.
