Don't Pollute the Water - Plotting

Hey StE!

Sorry for poofing a bit, combination of life+ work kinda got me a little down and exhausted.

So. I'm not sure if it's still relevant for StE but.

Riku and Nick were talking about how they could stop the water, and here's one idea. Leak the information as water pollution. Even if the 'contaminants' are harmless or 'purifying', would you, an ordinary citizen, like that they're suddenly changing up your tap water mix? And really what exactly /are/ they dumping into it? First it's GMOs and 6-legged chickens and now this? D<

So that's the gist of it-- media + environmental groups. If your characters are involved in or know someone who is involved with media/environmental groups, is a hacker, a programmer, a mailman, idek, STUFF. We can possibly have everyone bombarding the local media with anon tips on the water pollution. I can volunteer Riku here to get pictures of the illegal dumping if nothing else with his fancy zoom cameras and spiderman acrobatics, but that's kinda handwave.

OTHERS WELCOME
E.g. Doctors/Scientists/Biochemists ETC.  who can get a sample of the water and tell us what's in it, also cool. c:

Come on people, LETS GET OUR TAP WATER BACK.

Also MODS, I asked about this about a week or so ago  and I can't seem to spot anyone on AIM, so.  Please let us know what would happen in case they did anything? XD

mordin is not involved with the media, but he is a doctor, and can support/verify any claims.

I'd also recommend environmental interest groups. Seeing some weird chemical get dumped into the water would definitely set them off.

Also something of interest, Brooke brought it up to Edgeworth here about possibly doing a class action suit against Thunder Corp for their actions having such negative effects on people. While it's risky, he's willing to do it and that could also be something involved in this.

And if either of my two can be of any help, they'd be glad to be.

DID SOMEBODY SAY CHEMISTS. I've actually considered the possibility that Naomi might try testing the water since she has the know-how and is pretty interested in what could have such specialized effects as "only affects people who have numbers stuck in their head," but dismissed it since it would be a risk she might not take (her job being largely about accountability for one's work and all). If there's some public interest, though, that might be the excuse she needs to get going with a test, or some place could actually commission her lab to do some work.

:D WOO PLOTTING

For anyone who wants to make anonymous tips to the media but doesn't want to be traceable, Nick's willing to hand out disposable phones!

Also adding Benjamin here in to the number of scientists willing to investigate the water - especially if this goes public, and he can make use of the equipment at the university.

Julien got a camera set up last time watching the road/dump site, if that'll be useful.

As an independent environmentalist and a hacker, you bet Miranda is up for this.

Apologies for the delay!

But with no further ado, you are, indeed, clear to proceed with this operation. /salutes

...And you will be met with decided success for its purpose! Within a day of the first tips reaching their intended ears/eyes, the dumping will cease.

Keep in mind, of course, that any participants in the tipping off who don't take significant care in concealing their identity while they're at it will be at risk of future consequences.

Kari's contributing to this not by saying anything herself, but by giving the tipped-off civilians a space to speak. She's holding a gala to "raise awareness for environmental concerns at home and around the world" and Riku gave her Maya's list of people who would be tipped off so she could invite them. She hasn't told them to talk about the water or even mentioned it, but she does know it'll be on their minds and in their speeches.

Basically, it's going to look to all the world like she coincidentally happened to have this generic event that concerned citizens who had already been tipped off happened to mention the issue at. Considering that the lead-up to Miss America is underway and Kari's affiliated with a rival pageant this year, it looks natural that she'd be throwing a publicity stunt like this.

Who'd be going and what's going to happen?

Mac snagged a body of a full-bodied vat sample from the Thunder Corp warehouse, and, at Riku's urging, is dropping off small fingerprintless containers of the stuff over at Regina's for distribution to various media outlets. Because there's no way he wants to be anywhere close to this bomb when it goes off.
