I'm Mawi, I'm a roleplayer, and I have apped a ferret to a game. ~~(Hi, Mawi.)~~ I'm still reeling a little.

Romsca the Corsair is a minor antagonist in the Pearls of Lutra, a novel in the Redwall series! For those who weren't required to read them in the sixth grade, Redwall is a collection of YA novels chronicling the life and times of several generations of anthropomorphic animals who mainly live in the titular abbey of Redwall. Worryingly, all "vermin" species (ferrets included) tended to be evil, but that is a blanket statement that is a result of nurture rather than nature (thanks, Outcast; less thanks, Taggerung.) Romsca is morally greyer than most of her peers, which is WAY BETTER than the deal Brian Jacques usually cuts the bad guys, let me tell ya.

For those who aren't clued in by my completely professional icon job up there, Romsca will be a (really intelligent) domestic ferret for the majority of the beginning of the game! I still have no clue how she's going to access the network since she doesn't have anything to write with/has nothing in the way of opposable thumbs, but that should become less and less of a problem as she experiences more echoes. God have mercy.

I have a communications post set up here, and I'm working on writing up several administrative posts as soon as possible for maximum ease of communication. I'm looking forward to playing with you guys!

And finally... does... anyone want to adopt a sentient ferret please god she can't survive on left over hamburgers and puddle water forever and the vermini are out to get her this is TERRIBAD

I saw your app and squealed all over plurk about it, ngl. Redwall was my childhood. I think I punked out on it halfway through Pearls of Lutra, sadly, so I don't remember Romsca at all, BUT! That doesn't mean I don't still think you're awesome for playing her :D

Anyway. Hi, I'm Gail, and I play the local high school biology teacher-slash-werewolf :) He will totally not eat Romsca. I promise.

He might be open to adopting a ferret, probably. He likes them better than dogs anyhow.... A sentient talking ferret maybe less, but if she doesn't let on at first... ;)

Redwall solidarity fistbump! God yeah, I went home recently and boggled at the amount of Redwall books I had... might as well put the hours I spent fantasizing about eating the food to good use, am I right? I think a lot of people ended up leaving the series around the Pearls of Lutra, since that was the end of the Matthias line and most people got what they wanted out of Martin's legacy. SHRUG, it's my favorite since it was the first one I ever read. :D It was her or Martin the Warrior, and I had no clue how I'd integrate a mouse into an rp, so Romsca it was.

good... wolf... dog.... :') She's a sly, suspicious lady, and she'll keep off of his property if he says so! Which might be the first (and only) clue he gets. I can see this working out. UuU I've been thinking that she's been chased out of the little wooded area by the Vermini and is now hungry and looking for a safer place to stay. I don't know if your character would be the type to adopt a stray ferret out of the blue, but... uh... She's not rabid?? That's a plus.

I actually didn't care so much for the Matthias line, I was more in it for the badgers and Long Patrol :D But I ran out of interest mostly cuz I got tired of poetry clues and formulaic storylines. I even tried a reread last year and went "urg, they're all so... so... NICE. I NEED GRAY AREAS" and couldn't get past Mossflower :(

I still have them all tho, for nostalgia!

But yes. Actually, a bedraggled ferret who looks like it needs help and might be a lost pet? Yeah, he'd probably do that. And then take her to class with him to show his students the features of a mustelid. It would actually be a really great way to get her not only on the network (his laptop is often just sitting open...) but some easy CR, out of his students and such. He knows everybody. Seriously.

Dude, I think Romsca and Veil and Nimbalo sort of were the greyest the series ever got with the characters... the poetry clues basically died after the Long Patrol/Marlfox (I think??? Been a while), and the series ended up focusing more on Salamandastron and co. LONG PATROL BEST PATROL HEY-EY. the quality of the plots ended up dropping after a while though... which was really bad because they were formulaic enough :( oh well, I still have a soft spot in my heart for them.

I THINK THAT MIGHT ACTUALLY END UP WORKING OUT REALLY WELL?? The main thing I was worried about was getting her some cr without being able to use the network, but I've seen Lyall EVERYWHERE, and if he hauls her around every once in a while, that would definitely be enough for her (and me)! In return, later on, she'll ~~KILL SHIT~~ be a willing conversation piece, and I can definitely see her respecting his willingness to organize and teach people. She's a big old softie when it comes down to it.

Would you like to assume that he found her wandering around his area somewhere, or would you like to thread that out?

Long Patroooool. I may have to pick up some of the other books, then, if they're about badgers and hares >.> Even if the plots are terrible. That's what libraries are for: books you don't wanna spend money on :D

It may work out really well for all involved. Lyall, once he goes werewolfy, is only driven to hunt humans. Rosca is... not a human. She might actually be safe around him >.> Which will be kind of awesome? :: mental images of ferret riding around on a werewolf like he was a horse... ::

But yes. I think we should do this! And I would be happy to scene it out, because that could be really fun, actually. If you wanna set something up, I will reply tomorrow, or if you want me to set something up, I will start it tomorrow! Bedtime, yo. If you set it up, I'd suggest either near the Dead District or near the school, as both are places he is likely to be after school hours!

yeah, i think jacques got the hint that everyone wanted more BADGERBADGERBADGERHARES and started releasing books about literally every salamandastron ruler ever. i think it's worth it if only because they're fairly quick reads and BADGERS!!!

As she gets bigger, at some point riding wolves probably won't be an option anymore, but I love the idea of her having a mighty steed for a month or two!! She will always be biologically a ferret (with very human qualities, but nope, definitely all ferret), so if he needs her around for shit she could be convinced to believe in fair turnabout! :D he seems like a nice guy, she probably wouldn't hesitate.

I'll probably have to set up the entry tomorrow, since I'm pig tired and I'll probably pass out in another half out or so. uou I'll set up the post, though!! No need to worry about that. Thanks so much!!

oh my god you are a beautiful human being. I don't really remember Pearls of Lutra well, I think it was one of the last ones I read before I stopped, and it wasn't one of the ones that I got a billion rereads out of, but this is beautiful.

Hi, I'm Sam, I'm playing Hajime Saitou from ~~that ridiculous vampire samurai series~~ Hakuouki, or Hajime Fujisai, as he's known here.

...Souji's player and I were discussing having Souji randomly bring home/dump a cat on Hajime to trigger an echo. I feel like the situation would still be close enough that it would not have to be a cat, so I believe we could work something out, if you don't get another offer you like better! Hajime lives alone and is ridiculously tidy and secretly weak to adorable fuzzy things so he'd probably make sure she was the best fed ferret there ever was.

i'm pretty sure that pearls is considered one of the weakest books in the series?? idk i reread it and came out appreciating the ladybeasts so hard (SAGITAR MY HEART AND SOUL) but it was definitely formulaic and overly laden with food descriptions and gore and basically everything i loved about the series. lbr 9 year old me couldn't get enough of it

Haha, yeah, we had a rather large cast from once upon a time that missed playing together and we all loved the concept, so we...swarmed. I'm honestly not much for otome games in general, but I do love samurai and massive bloodshed and ROCKS FALL EVERYONE DIES, so that got me through it.

I am going to admit to being unfamiliar with Redwall, but holy cow playing a ferret that is awesome.

I'm Airdra, I play Hajime Aikawa from Kamen Rider Blade, and he has little to no tolerance for pets and small animals (Vermin? Near his restaurant? NOPE.) and such so I should probably apologize for his behavior in advance. >.>

Redwall is a huge nostalgia trip for me! I wouldn't exactly recommend reading them if you're past the age of 14-ish, but they can be fun, light reads! And i'm doin' my best to make this werk! thanks for the support

It's all good! I'm not familiar with Blade, but I'm making a point of trying to get through the Heisei era KRs... it's... taking a while since I keep rewatching OOO and Fourze fml. Ooh, you're watching Agito? That was my first series, and it was my favorite for the longest time before I watched Blade.

Yeah! I got through Kuuga pretty successfully and loved it, and I was told Agito is sort of a spiritual successor? I lost steam at around episode 14, I think, but I've been meaning to get back on the ball. I'll definitely have to give it another go once my canon review of OOO is done!

It was originally meant to be a direct sequel, but they dropped that after the first couple of episodes. I found Agito to work best when I sort of stretched it out. Watched an episode or two every night until I finished, heh.

And canon review of OOO means you play someone from there, doesn't it? 8D May I ask who? :3c
