Hey everybody! This is Bookie, resident Demyx/Neku/creepy child Pharos, with her forth (sob) character. This is Melissa Lyre, a tabletop character from World of Darkness (specifically, played in Hunter: The Vigil and then used as an NPC in Vampire: The Requiem). She was a cop turned monster hunter turned vampire. It was an... interesting game.
Here, she's still a cop, but not the nice type. Melissa here is the game's first altered PC cop, meaning she's sworn loyalty to Sherman and she is about as happy to be in the Numbers Club as I'm sure all your characters are going to be to have her. So that'll be interesting.
I'm also totally up for pre-network CR! There are two main ways you'd know her: if you're a cop, Melissa is a sargent with a reputation for working her ass of all the time and being willing to take on the cases nobody else wants. On the clock, she's very serious business, but anyone who's worked with her in any capacity knows that she's a hell of a lot of fun to go out drinking with it. She's also been involved a lot in helping out ThunderCorp with their various PR issues.
The other main route is if your character is at all involved in the nightlife of Locke City. Melissa gets around quiiiite a bit, so if you would like to assume your characters has had a one night stand with her that's fine. Her conditions are that they be reasonably attractive and find her to be super hot. (Also to not be a co-worker, because... that's a little too awkward for her.) Otherwise, feel free to just recognize her as someone who frequents a lot of bars and clubs.
ANYWAY I AM SUPER LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS. :')

I'm totally in favor of them being buddies! It sounds like they could have been pretty good friends. Nick used to be one of those people who trusts cops more or less implicitly (as much as he could with his trust issues, anyway), and never had any close friends outside of other cops. He has a very similar with the police force being his family, and 99% of the time he'd believe the word over a cop over anyone else, to the point of testifying that something happened even if he hadn't necessarily seen it.
Uhh what else she'd probably know about him: he transferred over from Portland, Oregon, about 5-6 years ago, and doesn't really talk about or have much contact with his family, though he occasionally mentions some aunts and uncles and a cousin or two. He's a fan of practical jokes, but always off the clock, of course.

Nick might be the perfect person to actually get her to cooperate with the network, then. Depending on how well he knows her, he might even be able to guess it's her from the comments. (Especially since now they're varying from threats/defending the police to betting someone to streak through the park. :|;;;;)

He's definitely going to try! ...although his method of trying is probably just going to be laying out all of the things that made him eventually decide to tentatively side with the network and then let her make her own decision, with maybe a tiny bit of nudging. (fff yeah he saw that! He knows about Max and is pretty good friends with him, too, so it's entirely likely he could figure out it out from that.)

That would work pretty well, I think! She respects Nick, which is the important part. She'd clue him into what (little) more she knows too.

Awesome! I think he respects her, too, and probably trusts her to some degree, although not as much as he did before he found out she was working with Sherman. He'd probably wait a little bit for her conversations with people in her first post to sink in and maybe for her to do some poking around herself, but when you're up for it, we could do a log with them?
