Plotting post: Tuning Towers redux!

Zelos (thewinningside) and Ravi have previously discussed going back to the Tuning Towers basements and sabotaging the excavation equipment to prevent Thunder Corp from reaching Wise Snake.

Here's the thing tho: OOCly, if another Tuning Towers mission happens and they do succeed in sabotaging the equipment, it will delay season 2. Would everyone be okay with this?
And, if people in general do NOT want season 2 to be delayed, would you be okay with a mission that fails catastrophically instead?

The general idea here is that Ravi actually wants to check out that building Thunder erected in the Dead District and he thinks it might be more important than sabotaging the excavation equipment at Tuning Towers. And he is TOTALLY willing to let Zelos run a decoy expedition to the TT basements while he is secretly running one to the DD. Which means he's also intentionally setting Zelos up as the fall-guy if something goes wrong with the TT mission (Zelos-mun has said they are okay w/this).

The TT mission would be publicly planned and open to whoever wanted to sign up, but the DD mission would be on the down-low and probably planned over Chris's Darknet instead (OOCly I will find a way around this if your char isn't on Darknet but you still want them involved). Ravi doesn't want any risk of cops/Blood Keys/general idiots ruining that plan, since it's essentially another recon mission.

How do y'all feel about this? Succeed with the sabotage or fail, and if fail, how catastrophically do you want it to fail?

ETA: To be clear, Zelos is NOT going to be informed that his group is a decoy for Ravi's group. Ravi's intent is that very few people outside of the DD-mission group even know it's happening.

ETA2: Chart of sign-ups so far is here, including a second sheet for votes for a delay on season 2. I used char names to track the votes because I don't know everyone's aliases. If you want to weigh in with a vote, feel free to add it to the list.

I am going to have to say sign-ups for DD are closed. 2 MC + 10 people and a ferret is about as large as a recon mission should get.

TT sign-ups however remain open, so anybody can still get involved there.

Recon is Lyall's thing :| He'll offer his nose and ears to the smaller mission if anybody needs a good sniffer or somebody to listen for trouble.

Also, I am okay with delaying season 2 a bit! Or with the mission catastrophically failing, for that matter. I still don't even have solid plans for season 2 :: sighs ::

Lyall on recon is a go! Ravi does trust him enough to ask him specifically, so that's easy to arrange for ICly.

Personally I am okay either way re: season 2 (MAY AS WELL WEIGH IN SINCE I'M AWAKE). On a character-involvement level, I'd enjoy it very much if Sophie or Aria could be included in either mission (Sophie has earthbending and her foot-sight thing back, and may be more useful on the exploration atm, idk, whichever if either would be viable; Aria had telekinesis but that's about it). Sierra is still pretty useless unless people want her to use cure after the fact, which she now has. In terms of which team, I'd really like it if Sophie could be on the DD team, perhaps? Aria would be up for the TT team.

So I don't have a success/failure vote, but hey if we're failing may as well do it dramatically.

Since Ravi got to see how useful her foot-sight could be on the original TT mission, I think he'd be willing to ask her along for the DD mission. It seems like a very low-risk way to spot guards and avoid them.

Shou has his other's memories of how to move and run a small raiding team so would work best in the smaller DD force. I don't have much of an opinion about S2 delay since either way will prove to be interesting - maybe it would force more confrontations and give new people a chance to get involved or maybe a sudden bang would be better. IDEK I am torn.

I'm willing to offer Xander for either team, although he honestly wouldn't be surprised if he was placed with the decoy team (again). He can take one other person with him via shadow mimicry.

As for rate of success or failure, I'm fine with either out-come.

IT IS HARD TO DECIDE WHICH TEAM XANDER WOULD BE MORE USEFUL ON TBH. I feel like his powers would be a good way to sneak everyone into the basement? He could probably shadow-walk under the door and then open it from the inside, you know?

ICly I could go either way on whether Ravi still trusts him enough to tell him about the DD mission, so it's your call, whichever you'd rather do.

Throwing Luci in for Mission control as always, but, as I said in the plurk concerning this, I'm casting my vote for having this fail. I'm not a fan of delaying the end of the season.

Likely there will be two separate MC teams for this, and we've already got Anthony and Barnaby on the DD one. Is it cool with you if Luci's MC for TT?

Also if the second option happens, would it somehow be possible to rope Siiri into it? She has no superpowers but is above average good with computers, very fit and can handle a rifle.

It should be easy to rope her into the Tuning Towers mission, since organization for that will be public and she can volunteer herself.

If you want her on the Dead District mission that'll be harder to justify, but I'm willing to work something out!

Bakura would be up for the DD investigation mission since sneaking his his main thing at the moment and he's been long range poking at the area with Diabound trying to figure out what they're doing there (with no luck, according to the mods, which if I were not lazy I could link to.)

I'm up for offering Åsa for the TT team. She hasn't had any power related echoes yet, but talking with Siiri-mun we thought we might be able to use this as an excuse for Siiri to train Åsa up with a gun, and then for Åsa to echo back her shooting ability. Either way, she can hold her own in a fight as long as there's no powers involved.

As for failing or succeeding, I'm neutral; I think it'll be interesting either way.

I would love to get Jacuzzi in on this somehow, especially after he's going to remember a pretty big piece of his past so he'll be interested in understanding more? That said this is... Jacuzzi. And I would understand in every way if everyone looked at him and sorted him into the hindrance pile as opposed to giving him a chance in the help one.

And I'm of the minority who would be interested in pushing Season 2 back a little and seeing it succeed.

Personally I'd rather not delay season two too much! Since the mods have said there's not much of anything else for characters to discover in season one, it'd feel a little too much like forcing everyone to just wait around and sit on their hands and such. Tentative vote for failure over here.

Considering it's been said there's not much else to discover in Season One, plus the fact that I really want to see things go public and the effect that will have, I definitely have to cast my vote more on the failure end.

And after some thought, yeah Toushirou would be in for the DD investigation. What better way to deal with your emotional problems than by burying them in something productive?

As we've already discussed, Ravi would inform Alex of the DD mission's existence and wouldn't have a very compelling reason for keeping it secret from the TT team. I'm okay with it if he reveals that to Zelos, so it's up to you guys to figure out how you want to roll with that idea!

Hajime is on the Darknet and would volunteer himself as muscle/a battering ram/a horrible giant bug distraction for the DD mission.

Arthur would be VERY GUNG HO about trying the Tuning Towers mission, which might be the thing to do if the mission's doomed to failure. |D I'm fine either way that goes, as far as Season 2 is concerned!

Jack's pretty new and hasn't echoed back anything too significant, but he's got a car and scads of cash to offer, which he might, given the opportunity? He'd be most likely to spot the public mission, as he hasn't got any access to the Darknet.

I'm a little more leaning towards getting on to Season 2, so hey! Spectacular failure! Those're fun. I like those.

Since I'm kind of new here my opinion shouldn't hold much weight, but I'd like season 1 to go on just a bit longer. Will I be devastated if it ends? Nah, I won't. It's just a more personally wanting to see where this sabotage plan goes if it succeeds.

Though Henry would probably offer himself to go and to back it up he'd say he can transform objects into other stuff if needed. Though limited to like five objects a day.

Oh man oh man, I've wanted to get my guy involved in some plots! So uh, I'm interested in throwing my guy into the fray, if it's not too late!

He's recently echoed back some supernatural abilities, so he'd probably volunteer since he'd see himself as finally having something 'useful' to contribute in terms of breaking, entering, and/or maybe self-defense. Otherwise, uh, if getaway drivers are needed, maybe he could do that? He could also possibly work mission control, too, if that's a more likely place for him to end up?

As for if it succeeds or not, I could go either way, my plans for Doyle are basically 'get more echoes, turn into a lizard', and that schedule is kind of flexible. XD
