Farmhouse redux discussion!
Hello! So, following the replies to the post on the results of the farmhouse scouting, Alexander got the idea to either have a meeting in person or put up a new post specifically asking for ideas on a follow-up mission to the farmhouse – ie. confronting the alien.
Now, I’m thinking Alex would favor the in-person meeting because everyone gets to see who they’re potentially working with. If no one has any qualms with this, then we’ll say an in-person meeting will happen. If your character has access to a large room/property and they’d be willing to open the space for the meeting, then that would be fantastic! Please let me know!
I’m thinking the meeting happens after Danny’s test to see how many other people he can make intangible since that’s a skill they’ll likely want to take into account. SO. Any day after 1/18 (Sat), likely close to.Maybe the day after, 1/19 (Sun) if there are no objections? New date being considered; please weigh in if you've a preference!
I can post an IC notice in advance so the Network knows when/where/etc.
Either way, I think it’s more convenient OOC-wise to handwave the IC discussion and figure it out OOC.
So, I think the main questions to discuss/answer in this post are:
1) Who attends the meeting?
2) What ideas do they throw out? What plan of action do they decide on?
3) Who volunteers to participate in the mission itself?
Please note: if a character lacks the means to defend themselves or hasn’t got a skill that might be valuable to the mission, they may be passed over IC-wise or delegated to something else. I certainly want to include as many interested parties as possible while also taking IC considerations into account.
I think that’s it!! Please go wild with ideas!
ALSO: if there are more questions/points you want to bring up, by all means, go for it!

From the aforementioned post, we have the following volunteers:
Danny - intangibility (figuring out limit to how many he can take w/him on 1/18)
Christobel - drones, hacking, piloting if able to access aircraft
Soren - ?
Shou - ?
Marisa - boom
Sophie - earthbending
Xander - shadow travel
Roxy - intangibility
Aria - telekinesis

Also she has an attack spell that can't knock down a building now!

Re: From the aforementioned post, we have the following volunteers:
Ideas mentioned in that post:
- Christobel can use drones for remote surveillance and distraction.
- Barnaby wants to release the animals as a distraction.
- Octavia suggested messing with the rooms/items that aren’t behind the mystery room (door w/keypad) in the hopes that whatever is in there will be moved and thus open to ambush.
- Sophie can tunnel underground.
- Xander might be able to get through the door to the mystery room.

The former whatever happens is definitely going to volunteer for the mission itself, and he's got a high chance of being barred, but regardless he's going to offer both of his weapons - seax/scramasax short sword and two-edged bastard sword. If anyone's got acquisition of a sword-related Echo in their plans hopefully that might be of use!

Since Alex also has to stay indoors, he has a new-found empathy for others who have to do the same. He would be more willing to approve Anthony in direct combat, though he still has some concerns-- mainly, can Anthony move quickly? Can he withstand regular blows?
If he cannot, Alex would suggest he drink Nick's blood again.

Would this be enough to warrant recommendation of requesting another dose? 8|a

Whether she's passed up or not, she'd be willing to hand out a few of the Blood Keys' guns that she stole last month to people that might need them for the mission.

SHE'LL BE ON HER BEST BEHAVIOUR HONEST
FLIPPING PEOPLE OFF WILL BE KEPT TO AN ABSOLUTE MINIMUM

On that last part, he doesn't know that it's conditional or anything about it, but regardless, he will be willing to participate in the more risky areas because of it.
He also has a set of armor, but I'm p. sure he wouldn't wear it. He might offer it to Anthony depending. Also has a sword, though he doesn't know how to use it yet. May try to get an Echo out of it with Anthony prior to the mission?

Xander will attend the meeting, but probably keep to himself for most of it until he chimes in with his shadow abilities for volunteering. He has military training, knows how to handle a gun, can create a flame by snapping his fingers (but harms himself in the process), heal minor injuries (with a slight burning sensation), has a 'second skin' to cover injuries on himself and is immune to viruses / diseases.

*e* also she's def. going.

yet, he's gotten pretty damn good at the mission control thing and is good with computers. If nothing else he'd be able to coordinate groups and info, and could probably help man Chris' drones.no subject

The thing he could offer to the mission would be turning objects into something else. But his limit is five objects a day.

Arthur would also attend and volunteer, and he should probably be set about doing some completely different task on the other side of town for a really good distraction. But hey, the guy can never resist a Network social event.
And just for the heck of it, Tater the Parrot would also attend but not volunteer, for he is only a parrot who just wanted to get out of Thomas's apartment for a little while, maybe
parrot atmeet a few people.no subject

calibrationscomputer-related stuff thanks to... his Electrical Engineering Master's, so he'd probably feel more confident helping out in a computer-related capacity.no subject
Sierra may or may not go just in order to see what's going on (maybe, basically) and if so, she wouldn't volunteer for the mission itself because she has nothing useful for it, but she would volunteer to like...be somewhere for after. :| She has Cure back, so she can at least play patch-up patrol after the fact.

As her last post stated, she doesn't have much in the way of non-computer skills, but if there's a rear-line support role she can take she'll do it.

Holloway is more than willing to donate his assistance wherever he can, but aside from parkour and having a metal spine, there isn't much he can do

The things I run into there are... well, she's not really going to be of much use. Yet. Still got a step to go on that, so I don't see anywhere she'd yet be able to help with the actual mission itself. The meeting is a different matter, but as a newer, just slightly over a month old character, I'm not sure how she'd be aware of it. Certainly want to be involved in on plot things, but unless there's a hook I've been missing, most talk of this stuff hasn't been entirely public?

So it is definitely possible that Lily is aware of what's happening!

In fact, I'd posted this before checking the main comm and hadn't realized that meeting notice. WHOOPS. Sorry about that, totally my bad.If possible, meeting attendance at least would be excellent. She's gotten to a point where she sees the need to be proactive, and knowing what's going on and how that can relate to helping (or funneling other people TOWARDS helping) when it comes down to it would be fantastic.

Want a doctor on the team? Might be helpful and all.

Luke, unlike L, has a lot of useful practical assets; L convinced him to go in the first place and definitely wants to witness more success coming of his meddling, but he is the furthest thing from a fighter amd is actually kind of frail. Would it be possible for him to go but keep his distance from any actual danger? Or maybe stay just long enough to sate his curiosity and make sure that Luke can handle what he's gotten him into?
no subject
OOCly I'm not really interested in having him along for the action stuff, since I'm also running a plot thing and just don't have the energy for both. But ICly he would want to come--a backup healer team is probably a good idea. Either they'll send someone in as necessary, or be there for casualties to get dragged over to. Like with the last mission, it's probably a good idea to combine this with MC.
So, Barnaby and a team of healers waiting in the wings, basically.

He can:
create and control water and fire balls (but not at the same time)
heal minor illnesses
So if you need someone to deal out a lot of damage, he's good to go. And he also has a boomerang the size of an adult's arm which is made from materials not really found on earth so it's a lot tougher and can be used as a more sophisticated club.
He wouldn't have offered much in the way of ideas, so he's mostly subdued in the meeting and is fine with the adults doing the planning.

I'd like her to volunteer for a mission control role, as she did that for the tunnel exploration a couple months ago, but I totally understand if it's too late!
