PLOT POST FOR MAY 3RD
This format of plot post is designed for players to ask questions and find ways to influence the plot. Be bold and ask what you can or can't do; the worst that can happen is that I will say no. As plots in Save the Earth are not self resolving nor on a time limit they can evolve in many ways. Although some potential outcomes are given, they are little more than suggestion and can be changed by character action. What role you take is up to you.
The post is also open for players to plot and coordinate between one another.
Events occurring currently;
• Nothing notable. Hope you enjoy the quiet for a little longer.
Events occurring in the immediate future:
• On May 6th, one of Locke City's most prominent art galleries will have three new statues on display. You get three guesses who they're made by and what they are of. Well, you're probably wrong on the third one. Because whilst two are large snake statues, the final one is instead a wolf.
All three have pseudo-Echo abilities. The first snake statue, depicting a snake coiled around a heart, influences ordinary humans to consider all of them to be glorious works of art. The second snake statue, depicting a snake with its chest opened to show a heart, convinces people to support and purchase the product of the Thunder Corporation. The final statue, depicting a wolf howling in pain due to the knife in its heart, has something a little different. It's a message for the reincarnated characters. With no audible words, it conveys the message that they should cease interfering with their business for the sake of humanity and themselves. It also comes with a web address to an ordinary webforum, titled 'Let's Negotiate' and with a single post, also titled 'Let's Negotiate.' A post will go up for characters to reply to it if they choose.
Thanks to the influence of the first statue, there will be a lot of buzz surrounding the statues by May 8th and they'll appear on the news, in papers and characters will probably hear about them through word of mouth too. Following the craze more info regarding everyone's favourite sculptor will be divulged, stay tuned. Yes, you can buy little plastic statues and no they won't give you an Echo.
Preemptively; the statues are under observation, because they're in an art gallery. Everything in there is.
• Speaking of May 8th, the Dead District will see some action again as ten or so thuggish fellows will show up in a highly populated area and tell all present hobos they have a week to clear out or be cleared out. People who get smart or get aggressive in regard to the threats can expect to meet the wrong end of a fist several times, so at least one of the homeless there will be made an example of. They'll only be there for a brief time, but we know when they'll be back now.
• Last but not least a much more mysterious than usual little event. In one of the few potentially self resolving ones, from May 5th to May 14th, characters may start to experience some or all of the things listed below, particularly after dark. But only a few characters at a time, no more than four characters a night and never the whole night. So please schedule amongst yourselves and be mindful of characters that might need the experience more than others.
-A feeling that someone is following them around their home/somewhere they frequent often.
-A sensation of being watched from a distance.
-Sudden chills, that cause hairs to rise.
-A feeling of weakness/dizziness. In particularly physically fragile characters (e.g elderly, infirm, very young, ferrets) this may lead to brief fainting spells.
-Smelling wet dog.
-Just as they are about to fall asleep, hearing a long and pained howl of absolute anguish from a canine. No one else will able to hear it.
-In their dreams, the phrase 'I wanted to save the Earth' being said by an adult man.
A special note regarding this event; if a character already possesses a ability which could conceivably allow them to perceive spirits/ghosts and you want a special little booster plot, you can flag yourself up and I'll privately tell you the ~secret details~.
Potential Echo Opportunities
The snake statues (but not the wolf statue) offer an Echo each at a touch. But be aware that any person touching both will be noticed and possibly investigated. On the other hand, hanging out in a room with three of the statues for a period of time between an hour or two (it will vary between people) will grant a single Echo. Doesn't stack with touching them, before anyone asks; it's two at a risk or one safe. (That one in the police station is still there, by the way, if someone can touch that without it being weird.)
Accessing the webforum will not grant an Echo, but posting a reply to it will. It will be possible to get a second during conversation, but how is a secret until it happens.
If someone happens to touch the thugs, they'll receive an Echo. Fairly unlikely on their first appearance, but like I said before... you know when they'll be back.
Any one of the symptoms of the visit from the strange presence can trigger an Echo. One per person, of course.
Canon parallels are still active.
Please direct questions regarding these plot points to the thread below and not the post in general.

Any unusual scents in the art gallery for a werewolf hanging around to suss out? And anything Lyall might pick up if he visits the Dead District a day or three after the ultimatum? He won't be around for the likely ambush/fight bit, but if he can pick up anything useful beforehand he'll be filling those who do in on things.
And though I doubt it... will any of the hauntings be accompanied by scents of any kind?

Aside from the smell of wet dog occasionally, nope on the hauntings.

1. Can attempts by made to crash the negotiate sites servers?
2. My character is going to be trying to abuse his government privileges to check up on Jack's family and on Rarity's. Possible consequences?
3. He might try and get some attacked homeless people to go to the police and file a report against the aggressors and make some kind of anti-thunder corp poster and web campaign. Possible consequences?
4. He's also going to be releasing some info to the public on the web through his anonymous image board. I'm wondering if he can use a screen capture program to get the video of paul ben being shot by the police accessible to the public. Would something like that be acceptable?
5. And just cause I can't remember are the characters still capable of leaving the city? Cause I am kind of plotting some family bs for Davin and need to know if he'll be able to go visit them at some point.
Thank!

2) Jack's family is under observation and Davin will certainly be noted, but not necessarily suffer immediate consequences. We're still in 'the long game' mode.
3) 'Don't worry sir. We'll get right on that.' /slides report into trash and as for anti-thunder corp... It won't be immediately popular in Locke, post the statue effect, but there are certainly civilians who feel the same. Might get a response if it gathers enough people behind it.
4) Anything taken OFF of the network will be just as imperceivable to the average person as the network itself. So Davin would see his info as clear as day, but when trying to spread it it'd be blank to the general population. Good way to find that out, though.
5) They can leave, but if they get too far from the city (the area is pretty big and includes the surrounding nature and agricultural facilities and even gets to the coast) they lose all their Echoes and their memories OF Echoes for the duration they're outside of the sphere of influence. Therefore if they have a valid reason to leave from the ordinary human side of their life, they can go and act like a normal person for a while then come back.

Depending on how revealing the Echo is though, it could be more. If it's something that might jeopardise the secrecy of the supernatural, there might be an immediate response depending on how severe.

Re: QUESTIONS
Going to attempt to hack the account that made the replies and then the forum control panel itself. She wants data on that guy posting. If she can get that far, she wants into the servers themselves.
Oh, and if she can get in, can she photoshop an embarrassing nude photo of Casval Mass and have it posted from "No One"'s account?
Of course, if it looks like she's likely to get caught doing so, she'll stop and go for the DDoS with Davin, Chris and any others who volunteer.
Re: QUESTIONS
Resolve OOCly and log? What's going to happen with this plan? :U

how long will the art exhibition last technically? will the statues be there forever for everyone to gawk at? same question with the forum as well (unless i missed it while reading at the comments somewhere down the road...)
Re: QUESTIONS
Becky's hanging out at the museum for a while to check out the art. She won't work up the nerve to touch the statues, but she'll be there long enough to soak up the Echo-y goodness. However, spending a little quality time examining a statue is itself a canon recurrence (the icon's from that scene, in fact).
What I'm wondering is: Can I get two Echoes out of that? Neither would be very large (a small item and a snippet - like, awareness there is a statue and two, three lines of dialogue about it - of the appropriate memory).
I am willing to only use the memory if she ends up talking to someone while she's at the museum, but I thought it was worth asking if I can do this.
