HELLO FRIENDS.

And by friends I mean mostly strangers who I may have played off of a few times otherwise I really don't know any of you yet, but here I am liking this game enough to immediately want to bring a new kid into this mix! I am still Eren, and I still play phoenix_temple, despite having to be slow most of this month because retaiiiiiil. My new kid happens to be pretty much completely different from Fuu/Anais, as well as the physical embodiment of the feeling of anxiety: Jacuzzi Splot from the Baccano! anime.

For those of you who have not seen Baccano!, the brief summary of Jacuzzi is this:


No. Really. He takes a level in badass in the show but honest to god he spends most of it sobbing.

In terms of the game, Jacuzzi is a community college student who can't keep his grades up because he's got a severe anxiety disorder as well as anxiety-induced asthma, parents who expect him to get better on his own, no self-confidence and a stoner roommate who keeps stealing/losing his shit. He's easily frightened to tears and he's currently trying to cope with trying to figure how to explain to his parents that he has a new, terrible tattoo on his face.

Hi Save the Earth! My name's Corinne and I'm a brand new player bringing you a crossdressing ninja princess (oops spoilers) aka Princess Zelda from Ocarina of Time!

In game, Evelyn is a teenage know-it-all who goes to a blatant ripoff of the Bronx School of Science and works at a movie theater part-time. She thinks she's smarter than everyone ever and abuses her word a day calendar like it's going out of style. She's 15, she'll get over it.

Due to holidays, I'm going to be mostly AFK until the New Year, so Bakura is going with his grandparents to Japan for New Years as they do every year. He'll be texting more or less everyone he regularly talks to that he has the network number for with a heads up that he hasn't died/been arrested/vanished, he's just off in Japan, and will give them an email that'll forward to his phone that people can use to get a hold of him if for some weird reason they want to. [Feel free to harass his contact post with spam if you wanna]

I'll likely still be replying to backtags while I'm AFK, and I will be checking plurk if anyone wants to poke me there.

Quick Announcement for December 21st!

During the period from the evening of December 21st to the end of December 25th, reincarnates may find themselves experiencing one odd and isolates unprompted Echo each.

What is odd about them? Well, apart from the very fact that they are, as far as can be seen, unprompted is that they're all a specific kind. These free Echoes may only be Tier 1 Item Echoes, and the item must be something with no relevance or use outside the context of the character's original life - for example, a sword or a letter from someone who their past self knew that could trigger further Echoes on reading would not be in the cards; "the jacket that he wore in the twentieth episode" or "the book she was reading at the beginning of the series" would.

Any and all reincarnates who would be in Locke and not have lost memories or Echoes for at least one day during this period may get an Echo as described.

...And who's to say if this is the universe wishing you all a Happy Holidays, Numbers Club? It is the solstice, after all. Perhaps there's just something in the air.

To reiterate: characters may receive one free insignificant Tier One Item Echo each on any day from December 21st to December 25th. Have at - and if you have any questions, please, feel free to ask them to this post!

quick (or not-so-quick?) hiatus

I said something to this effect on Plurk but I don't think I have everyone in the game so here goes.

I'll be on hiatus until approximately January 6th, at earliest, due to holidays-ing and new semester or possibly not new semester but life away from college.

This only affects Miranda who is so antisocial it probably won't affect her life much anyway.

Christmas Party Shenanigans?

Christmas (or Xmas, if you prefer) is fast approaching, and with some characters heading home and other (like Ryan here) stuck in the city, I figured why not throw a party? Ryan is the kind of guy to do just that! He's still got friends in the Fire Department, so renting a community center wouldn't be too hard, BUT!! This is where you can come in with your character and be like "YES! ME!!" if you want to lend a hand!

Basically, I'm planning on putting up a post with Ryan asking everybody what they're doing, and he'll think of planning a party for everybody on Monday, the day before Christmas Eve (in case some people still have plans, etc) Unfortunately, I'm flying home that day so I won't personally be able to tag that day... Ah well, that's a story for another time. The party can be back-dated or forward-dated or whatever works best for everyone!

The party will be open to everyone, (body horrors included) so I guess, tl;dr, does your character have a venue/want in on a Christmas party? Would they be able to help set up, decorate, bring food, etc?? Plot it here! Please

SOOOOOooo that little post with Holloway was my last little thing before I leave to Canada for about 2 weeks. Tomorrow.

I'll be gone from the 22nd of December to the 4th of January. I'll still be tagging things in the interim, like while I'm at the airport or otherwise, but they'll probably be really infrequent since I will be busy. BUSY FREEZING TO DEATH because I live in FL and it's still like 90F here as opposed to the whopping 5F of AL.

Kanti will be going on a trip to L.A. with her family to see her extended family. Pretend she made a post about it on the network, since I don't want to make one post after the other real fast.

Holloway is on autopilot, and I'll throw him where I'm asked to.

and another edit for clarification because I didn't think of this: I threw this up because we wanted to include as many people as possible, but for IC purposes it'd have to be someone either Alex or Nick (or one of the others going) would want to ask or suggest come along. If you'd be really interested OOCly, though, please let us know!

The original intent of this was a small recon team, so I'm not sure how much actual alien interaction will happen. ...of course it's started taking on a life of its own, so who knows what will end up happening, but still.

So hi this is Nerdo and I've finally apped a second character to this game. She's a beautiful teenage girl who gets introduced in canon as a hypercompetent new transfer student, has intense emotional problems and conflicting feelings for the extremely passive main character, and is one of the most polarizing characters in a show that's already meant to shock people with its take on traditional genre themes, so of course she's completely different from the character I already play.

(Now I'd like you to imagine how much less shoehorned that joke would be if I'd picked up Kyouko instead).

Anyway, Homura Akemi (of Puella Magi Madoka Magica fame) here was already played under her original name briefly by someone else. Per StE's rules on re-apps, this character is an entirely different person based on the same preincarnation, in this case a shy loser private school student named Henrietta Szczensy. Important things to note about Henrietta are:

1) no social skills or self-esteem
2) no other real skills either
3) she is a huge nerd and writes terrible magical girl fanfiction
4) she's going to eventually Echo back a 9th-level D&D spell and enough weaponry to conquer a small or underfunded country if that's your thing
5) almost everything I do with her will be a spoiler for a three year old anime comprised almost entirely of plot twists. Thankfully for everyone I haven't seen the third movie adaptation yet so I can't spoil that. Yet.
