We're a big unruly mob ♪
On June 24th in Las Vegas, Russel is going to perform a reprise of his first appearance in the manga. In which he went full-blown cackling villain and tried to kill Hamel by brainwashing a town into a single-minded mob.
Here's what we have so far: Russel is going to use Beethoven's Emperor to brainwash a crowd of onlookers into an unruly mob. Emperor, a song about truth and justice, will be twisted for hate and mob justice. It will make anybody listening believe that Emil represents all the danger that people are in because of the ongoing struggle between the aliens and the Numbered. It will dredge up whatever hate they feel for the situation, make them want justice, and make them want to exact retribution themselves. Congratulations listeners, you are now a big unruly murderous mob!
This will be happening by the fountain at the Aria and the mob will mostly consist of innocent bystanders and cultists. Anybody within hearing range of Russel's piano will be affected by the music. It makes them feel hate and want justice as outlined above, but how they choose to act on those feelings is up to you.
Emil will also be going into a partial mazoku rage because of all this, so there's plenty of opportunity for property damage or minor injuries. The rule on Emil-caused injuries is nothing a simple ER visit can't put right. Hit upabhero if you want to do something with Emil. (On the flip side, if you do want serious injuries, feel free to use the mob to your advantage. My only stipulation is nothing fatal.)
If you don't want to be involved, don't be near the Aria on the evening of the 24th. It's very easy to avoid. If you do want to be involved, you have a lot of options. You can have your character get caught up in the mob trying to kill Emil, you can have them be affected by the hate/justice in a different, more personal way, you can have them get wise and show up with earplugs to try to stop the fight, honestly whatever you want to roll with, as long as it fits within the framework I've already outlined here, is totally cool with me.
As for how this is going to resolve, somebody's going to have to take Russel down. As soon as he stops playing, the emotional manipulation and thus the unruly mob mentality are gone. If nobody wants to volunteer, it'll probably be Emil. Once he's stopped, both he and Emil are getting arrested and thrown in jail for the night.
Russel's parents will be called and he will be getting sent home to Locke after this. He'll also be getting shipped off to live with his grandmother out of state (Mom does not like what this 'chosen one' stuff is doing to him), and I will be dropping him after the end of the month. If you want to do something with me before that, let me know.
