A Wild Event has Appeared!

Heeeey, StE-ers, who wants to talk about how the mafia has gotten info on over a dozen Numbered over the past seven weeks? I sure do. Let's talk consequences!

This here will be a plotting and questions post for things happening over the next two weeks: do you want the mafia to strike at your character in any way? They could do anything from just trying to scare them to trying to ruin their livelihood. They could even do nothing at all, and just bide their time until later! (Everything here is totally optional.)

Meanwhile, how did the mafia know any of this? That there sure is a mystery. Someone from the Network must have leaked! Here's the place to plot possible investigations and ask questions.

Aye, that can work. Although in Xander's recent post, he mentioned getting a room-mate and in the comments possibly moving.

I saw that! A 60 day's notice and the fact that he owns two cats are also two telling bits of info. Want a nice house warming present for your new place, Xander?

I'm tempted by that offer, but Xander would be very displeased by it.

I imagine Xander's not going to be happy over any of this...

That might be a little better, but probably make the land lord / lady hate him for causing such a mess.

Excellent. Sounds like vandalism is the name of this game; want any actual threats or attempts to Xander's wellbeing?

Threats are something he can deal with, as for attempts... They'll probably be met with violence.

Personally, my goal is that I want as much weight on Cesar's conscience by the time all of this is over. Injuries, threats, fear--all of it will probably reach the greater network sooner or later, and by proxy Cesar. I'm also looking for things that might poke people into looking for the source of the leaks.

Violence is totally on this list, but whether or not it actually happens not only depends on whether the mods approve it, but on whether your character having to stand up and respond in kind is what you want to do with him. You interested in that plot line? It would also affect what kind of reaction Xander might have to Cesar eventually, considering that Xander might be a lot less pleased with him if he almost died than if he just got a few lamps broken.

I understand and I'm still interested in the plot. I'm sorry for being a bit hesitant about having him involved with a violent situation due to the fact I'm worried I might go overboard with Xander's sadistic and morbid traits he's echoed back.

(EDIT: Four in the morning, hi.) Awesome! Also do not be sorry, that makes a lot of sense; Are you worried about what playing him that way would do to his character and what the long term effects would be, or are you more worried about going overboard with violence? (Or, heck, both is an option.)

Either way it's def. something to take into account. Do you think you'd rather circumvent any opportunities for violence because of that, this time?

It would be for all of those reasons. Although, I have played him where he slipped in to the more sadistic side when fighting a Blood Key member, but eventually snapped out of it. Due to that event, he distanced himself from the network and tried to deal with it, but it didn't work out in the end.

Well, after getting some sleep and thinking about it more, I can handle it. I have no issues discussing how the scene will go or having a guideline for it. As for the first encounter, if it happens, I'm totally okay with him getting overpowered or ambushed.

Got it! I'm contacting the mods now to ask how we might go about this happening, and I'll get back to everyone once I know more.

Okay, I now have more in the way of specifics!

It's looking like the mafia is specifically looking to do some low level property damage, unless they don't have an address or if the property itself doesn't seem like it's impressive enough to make a big enough statement. If it's the latter case, then they'll be aiming to rough the Numbered person up, leaving a warning of how "this town belongs to Albero or "the family"", or something along those lines.

Well, Xander's apartment is a decent one but with a minimalist theme (he doesn't own a tv or many expensive items), so I'm not sure if that'll interest the mafia regarding property damage. Like I said before, I'm still okay with Xander getting jumped and roughed up, but he sort of knows about Albero due to Miles / Hope getting some info back in January.

Hmmm. If he doesn't own a TV or many expensive items, then maybe they would lean towards jumping him? We could also do a sort of combination, where he comes home in the middle of them trashing his place? The NPCs involved the members will mostly consist of one purely human leader and one to three modified enforcers. We have permission to NPC them ourselves.

That could work. He does have two cats though, an attentive black Siamese and a more skittish white tabby.

... I am a cat owner, and it hurts me to even suggest this, but what if the mafia did something to his cats? Do you think that'd be overboard? It could plausibly be anything from actual injury to just bagging them and dropping them off somewhere random elsewhere...

It pains me too. Xander would definitely not forgive the mafia for harming his cats or even stealing them. (He got Connor, the black Siamese, when he was a kitten and after the death of his twin brother. So, they've been together for about seven years.)

.... sob... Yeah, that'd be heart breaking. I see your icon smiling, though. Are you planning to break our hearts with that being what the mafia does? 8( because if so, damn.

It definitely would be. Actually, that icon is more of a pained smile. I'm not sure how'll I go about it yet, but I'll have to think about it more.

Thanks for the heads up on that. Although, not sure if Xander is included on the assault front that's happening or not.

(Sneaking in for a bit just to say that Xander is on my assault list! also you can change at any time, though I figure you're still game for assault. :) )
