Publicity Plotting?

So I know a number of people have posted to Lyall's request for people to go public with him, and he's apparently got a potential backer for some airtime on television. He'll want to do this before school starts (next week? week after? do we have an official start time for school in Locke?), so ASAP, like tomorrow or Monday. (Can't be tonight, cuz he's doing dungeon-delving with Anthony tonight, heh.)

I wanted to post something up here rather than on plurk cuz I know I don't have everybody who replied on my plurk :B Is there a day that works well for everyone IC, and do we have a preference as to how and what network and what kinds of things everyone is willing to say? I know Lyall is going to basically come clean, though he may keep his "I can change into a wolf at will" to himself, in order to keep that particular disguise if he needs it.

Also, do we want to rp this out, or handwave/summarize the actual event, or some combination of the two, like setting up a Q&A sort of thing without rping a full-on interview?

So this is something I've been planning to work on with Saretha, but real life stuff happened and I hadn't gotten back to it yet... thus, Lyall's post was kind of perfect timing following the media backswing on them.

Saretha has funds she can tap from both herself and her parents so long as she can convince them having Numbered on their side is a valuable resource. She thinks it's pretty important to have a "public face" for them so that way they're not just this mysterious force acting on their own. She thinks that showing Numbered could be normal, "respectable" sorts of people (hahaha, implying she's respectable, that's hilarious) could bend to their advantage eventually. She's been keeping herself hidden up until now, but knows that the act of doing that only for it to be exposed when it's not of her own choosing could only backfire if she tries to keep doing that.

There are a number of potentials beyond that - especially if anyone (or anyones) want to start trying to pull public relations on a more consistent basis.

As I am toying with getting Lyall fired for going public (high school teacher who's a werewolf? yeah, that'll go over well with the parents XD ), he may wind up attempting to handle PR full time, if he can't get another job, ahahaha. But yes, that is an option.

So can Saretha fund them for some airtime on a local-ish tv station (or a tv station willing to film them in Locke, at least) for Sunday or Monday night? I think that's the goal, getting them visible and on public tv for most likely a simple statement + Q&A....

The sad thing is Saretha will probably look at this like free business advertising just by word of mouth alone. Poor Lyall. A thought I have incidentally entertained for Natalie in time, but for her end she's keeping her head down as much as possible.

But yes! That sounds feasible. (And once you do that, it won't take any doing on anyone's part for national and international media to subsequently pick up and use the resulting broadcast I imagine.)
