PLOT POST FOR MAY 19TH
This format of plot post is designed for players to ask questions and find ways to influence the plot. Be bold and ask what you can or can't do; the worst that can happen is that I will say no. As plots in Save the Earth are not self resolving nor on a time limit they can evolve in many ways. Although some potential outcomes are given, they are little more than suggestion and can be changed by character action. What role you take is up to you.
The post is also open for players to plot and coordinate between one another.
Events occurring currently;
• The three statues as detailed in the previous plot post remain up and adored by the public. The huge buzz surrounding David Proud has resulted in some information regarding the mysterious fellow entering public knowledge, even if he himself has yet to appear or be interviewed or ...well, anything visible. The art gallery in which he has exhibited his works, however has caved to demand and revealed a little, alongside media investigation.
David Proud is a twenty seven year old man who has lived his entire life in the Locke region. He is, due to a tragic heart defect common in his family, the only surviving member of what was once the Native American tribe that lived primarily in the Locke Region. An uneventful childhood resulted in becoming a car mechanic for several years until late last year when his art career began. Remaining in obscurity until recently, he remains reclusive and has not appeared in public often. His work was noticed by chance by Jimmy Won of Thunder Corp. and he found it inspiring enough to bring the artist to the popular eye. Proud gets all of the stone for his statues from a now closed coal mine, a place he played at as a child.
Said coal mine can be visited and for details, see the potentially occurring segment.
Events occurring in the immediate future:
• Following the 'negotiations', the enemy has had its suspicions confirmed. Instead of facing up against a complicated organization with its own agendas and resources they're facing up against a bunch of idiot yahoos who have no idea what they're doing or even why they're doing it. This, alongside the fact that interference in their operations did not cease as the Whatever on the other end of the internet requested means a change of plans.
So basically they're swapping from cautious, potential deal making to 'just kill 'em.' It's way simpler all around. To that end, a Vermedi will soon be released into Locke and will be the source of Monster Of the Week style troubles (in case you didn't feel enough like a bunch of Magical Girls) for some time. From May 23rd until May 30th, two sightings of the Vermedi per day will be allowed. One per character and it will always escape the scene once noticed. As with the 'werewolf ghosts', arranging a schedule for these and keeping in mind those who may need them more is appreciated.
On top of that some individuals whose identities are already known will be directly targeted soon.
Events potentially occurring in the immediate future:
• Visiting the long abandoned coal mine will show that security is nothing more than a rusted chain link fence with a big hole in it. It's pretty remote and nothing suspicious leaps to mind unless someone chooses to enter the mine itself instead of just the clearing it inhabits. Inside the mine, characters will be able to find a little old man who will claim to be a Sage of Earth who has been awaiting their arrival for a long time and has answers to their questions. Answers he can only give once and can only be given in the confines of the mine.
Looks like we got ourselves an underground party, although when will depend on when characters wish to do so.
Potential Echo Opportunities
As previously, the statues in the art gallery represent the potential for two Echoes by touch and one by hanging around them long enough. Meeting the Sage of Earth gets one, so anyone who wants to attend the underground party will get one. From May 23rd onwards, Vermedi nonsense will commence and from that there will be numerous Echo chances. Just seeing the Vermedi is enough to trigger an Echo. Canon parallels are a constant.
Please direct questions regarding these plot points to the thread below and not the post in general.

I'm also hoping Lucy will get in on the Vermedi (Hajime's got enough echoes that I doubt he'll be able to fit in), and I may send her to the gallery too, now that she's getting more of a sense of things, if anyone else is going late and wants shenanigans.
EDIT: If my pending plan for a couple of Echoes goes through, then Lucy will definitely be going to the gallery, where my plan is for her to recover a canon illness that'll mean she'll need someone to...help her home, get up under her shirt, and jam a crystal in her newly recovered Installer Port. It will likely be fabulously awkward. If anyone she knows already is interested in getting dragged along to the gallery and then helping her out, or alternately if anyone she doesn't know could conceivably be around the gallery on the 27th for the most awkward way to meet someone ever, come at me bro.

a pretty girlsomeone asked him to go with them he wouldn't say no!Plus he's pretty experienced in getting under girl's shirts. That being said! Like I mentioned, he did already go to the art gallery twice already, so if someone else wants to go with Lucy instead I'd be happy to let them go? Particularly since the last time he went to the art gallery he already had to help a woman get home after problems with an Echo. :P

I mean, hey, Sano's a helpful guy if you still want the old fart.

But YEAH LET'S DO DIS.

THINGS...
I totally failed at somehow arranging for these two to talk as we discussed in that last plot post are you still up for that or
no subject
I would love to do this! I failed at catching so many people in the gallery because the day I picked didn't match up with the days anyone else was there. I am failure.

As for how...I'm not sure how likely they are to share any classes (Hajime's got a lot of science, although he does have an ethics class for general ed requirements), but running into each other somewhere around campus seems easiest. Although then in that case I'm not sure how to spark some recognition since...have either of them even used video functions. Hajime's dropped his name once or twice, but he's been pretty much living by text.

This game seriously needs a secret handshake so people can recognize each other in person.

A secret handshake or maybe a symbol or something...? Or a code word. Ooo, I think a code word would work best. Or like, a code phrase or sentence or something like "WHAT IS LIFE'S GREATEST ILLUSION?" "INNOCENCE, MY BROTHER" no okay I need to stop playing Skyrim.

although my brain keeps wanting it to be
WHAT IS A MAN
A MISERABLE LITTLE PILE OF SECRETS
so I probably shouldn't be allowed to think of these things either.

Yeah this is hard. We'll think of something.
