PLOT POST FOR MAY 19TH

This format of plot post is designed for players to ask questions and find ways to influence the plot. Be bold and ask what you can or can't do; the worst that can happen is that I will say no. As plots in Save the Earth are not self resolving nor on a time limit they can evolve in many ways. Although some potential outcomes are given, they are little more than suggestion and can be changed by character action. What role you take is up to you.

The post is also open for players to plot and coordinate between one another.

Events occurring currently;

• The three statues as detailed in the previous plot post remain up and adored by the public. The huge buzz surrounding David Proud has resulted in some information regarding the mysterious fellow entering public knowledge, even if he himself has yet to appear or be interviewed or ...well, anything visible. The art gallery in which he has exhibited his works, however has caved to demand and revealed a little, alongside media investigation.

David Proud is a twenty seven year old man who has lived his entire life in the Locke region. He is, due to a tragic heart defect common in his family, the only surviving member of what was once the Native American tribe that lived primarily in the Locke Region. An uneventful childhood resulted in becoming a car mechanic for several years until late last year when his art career began. Remaining in obscurity until recently, he remains reclusive and has not appeared in public often. His work was noticed by chance by Jimmy Won of Thunder Corp. and he found it inspiring enough to bring the artist to the popular eye. Proud gets all of the stone for his statues from a now closed coal mine, a place he played at as a child.

Said coal mine can be visited and for details, see the potentially occurring segment.

Events occurring in the immediate future:

• Following the 'negotiations', the enemy has had its suspicions confirmed. Instead of facing up against a complicated organization with its own agendas and resources they're facing up against a bunch of idiot yahoos who have no idea what they're doing or even why they're doing it. This, alongside the fact that interference in their operations did not cease as the Whatever on the other end of the internet requested means a change of plans.

So basically they're swapping from cautious, potential deal making to 'just kill 'em.' It's way simpler all around. To that end, a Vermedi will soon be released into Locke and will be the source of Monster Of the Week style troubles (in case you didn't feel enough like a bunch of Magical Girls) for some time. From May 23rd until May 30th, two sightings of the Vermedi per day will be allowed. One per character and it will always escape the scene once noticed. As with the 'werewolf ghosts', arranging a schedule for these and keeping in mind those who may need them more is appreciated.

On top of that some individuals whose identities are already known will be directly targeted soon.

Events potentially occurring in the immediate future:

• Visiting the long abandoned coal mine will show that security is nothing more than a rusted chain link fence with a big hole in it. It's pretty remote and nothing suspicious leaps to mind unless someone chooses to enter the mine itself instead of just the clearing it inhabits. Inside the mine, characters will be able to find a little old man who will claim to be a Sage of Earth who has been awaiting their arrival for a long time and has answers to their questions. Answers he can only give once and can only be given in the confines of the mine.

Looks like we got ourselves an underground party, although when will depend on when characters wish to do so.

Potential Echo Opportunities

As previously, the statues in the art gallery represent the potential for two Echoes by touch and one by hanging around them long enough. Meeting the Sage of Earth gets one, so anyone who wants to attend the underground party will get one. From May 23rd onwards, Vermedi nonsense will commence and from that there will be numerous Echo chances. Just seeing the Vermedi is enough to trigger an Echo. Canon parallels are a constant.

Please direct questions regarding these plot points to the thread below and not the post in general.

Hajime's definitely borrowing that footage to add to the FAQ.

I agree that a small group getting there and then buzzing the rest of the network sounds like the way to go.

So which group finds the guy? We've got 12 people signed up, sorted tentatively into two groups...

And do they set up a meeting for the next day/later that day or just sit and wait for more people to show up? The former might make more sense and then likely bring more people into the meeting log, and the latter might be harder to keep the PCs from doing in the fear that the sage might vanish on them... XD

Speaking with no relative idea of which group has had their fingers in more pies thus far, but I'd be in favor of letting the people who've had the least chances in the limelight to do the finding, even if it's not worth any extra Echoes - just to let more of them in on the fun, you know? (I think we could just as easily toss the tentative groupings and see who most wants to be in the finding group/who's done the least and should get a crack at it, and rearrange, even.)

And I personally am not super attached to needing to have Hajime be down there, and am just as happy to let him be one of the people who gets the network call and rolls in fashionably late. In fact, that may actually be better for him, since his cast haven't hit up the plot post yet but where one of them goes, at least one other usually winds up getting dragged.

Yeah I'd rather have someone that isn't Chris do the finding -- I've been sticking my nose in all the things lately.

So going by the current mash-up of three groups, we've got two groups with characters going "not-it" XD I can think of a good reason for why Lyall's group doesn't find him and gives up early (Anthony's getting hurt; Lyall will promptly say "okay, going home now >: ( " at that point, healing or no healing) but the other group will either need a reason to go home too soon, or else not actually go spelunking until the network post/invitation/however it works goes out and EVERYONE goes spelunking.

Also, according to the current group breakdown, it's Casval's group that does the finding.

But in other news you evidently also play the best character in Firefly, and this is not unacceptable.

Unless she isn't. I think I'm equally partial to Wash.

Haha, she is indeed one of my favs ^^ I do love Wash, but I could never play him. I just don't have that level of snark and goofiness. I'm better at badass ladies.

I've got her over at Dyspros right now. Seems to be settling in all right, and its a fantastic idea for a setting.

Joshua would be cool with Hajime doing that! Actually he'd probably get a bit of an ego boost from it. XD "Look! I helped ADD to the FAQ!!"
