PLOT POST FOR MAY 19TH

This format of plot post is designed for players to ask questions and find ways to influence the plot. Be bold and ask what you can or can't do; the worst that can happen is that I will say no. As plots in Save the Earth are not self resolving nor on a time limit they can evolve in many ways. Although some potential outcomes are given, they are little more than suggestion and can be changed by character action. What role you take is up to you.

The post is also open for players to plot and coordinate between one another.

Events occurring currently;

• The three statues as detailed in the previous plot post remain up and adored by the public. The huge buzz surrounding David Proud has resulted in some information regarding the mysterious fellow entering public knowledge, even if he himself has yet to appear or be interviewed or ...well, anything visible. The art gallery in which he has exhibited his works, however has caved to demand and revealed a little, alongside media investigation.

David Proud is a twenty seven year old man who has lived his entire life in the Locke region. He is, due to a tragic heart defect common in his family, the only surviving member of what was once the Native American tribe that lived primarily in the Locke Region. An uneventful childhood resulted in becoming a car mechanic for several years until late last year when his art career began. Remaining in obscurity until recently, he remains reclusive and has not appeared in public often. His work was noticed by chance by Jimmy Won of Thunder Corp. and he found it inspiring enough to bring the artist to the popular eye. Proud gets all of the stone for his statues from a now closed coal mine, a place he played at as a child.

Said coal mine can be visited and for details, see the potentially occurring segment.

Events occurring in the immediate future:

• Following the 'negotiations', the enemy has had its suspicions confirmed. Instead of facing up against a complicated organization with its own agendas and resources they're facing up against a bunch of idiot yahoos who have no idea what they're doing or even why they're doing it. This, alongside the fact that interference in their operations did not cease as the Whatever on the other end of the internet requested means a change of plans.

So basically they're swapping from cautious, potential deal making to 'just kill 'em.' It's way simpler all around. To that end, a Vermedi will soon be released into Locke and will be the source of Monster Of the Week style troubles (in case you didn't feel enough like a bunch of Magical Girls) for some time. From May 23rd until May 30th, two sightings of the Vermedi per day will be allowed. One per character and it will always escape the scene once noticed. As with the 'werewolf ghosts', arranging a schedule for these and keeping in mind those who may need them more is appreciated.

On top of that some individuals whose identities are already known will be directly targeted soon.

Events potentially occurring in the immediate future:

• Visiting the long abandoned coal mine will show that security is nothing more than a rusted chain link fence with a big hole in it. It's pretty remote and nothing suspicious leaps to mind unless someone chooses to enter the mine itself instead of just the clearing it inhabits. Inside the mine, characters will be able to find a little old man who will claim to be a Sage of Earth who has been awaiting their arrival for a long time and has answers to their questions. Answers he can only give once and can only be given in the confines of the mine.

Looks like we got ourselves an underground party, although when will depend on when characters wish to do so.

Potential Echo Opportunities

As previously, the statues in the art gallery represent the potential for two Echoes by touch and one by hanging around them long enough. Meeting the Sage of Earth gets one, so anyone who wants to attend the underground party will get one. From May 23rd onwards, Vermedi nonsense will commence and from that there will be numerous Echo chances. Just seeing the Vermedi is enough to trigger an Echo. Canon parallels are a constant.

Please direct questions regarding these plot points to the thread below and not the post in general.

I can definitely understand that! She has a tough time getting them. Though at the same time I hate to boot anyone out of a slot as well. So got some options.

Since she's got a harder time earning echoes, I'd give her a high priority since she's not even able to fully communicate with others yet! So we have two options. One is that she can have Jack's slot on the 30th. Another is that we can see if we can do some swapping to get Karl onto a weekday and she can see one with him at school somehow since he's also a teacher at the high school and Stella is often taken there with Lyall and that would be a logical enough grouping if Lyall is involved as well. I could probably get Shawn or Toushirou to swap if you want to go with that option since neither expressed a date preference.

(Small fabrication on my part: looks like she has three! whoops)

Hmm.. Like you, I wouldn't want to boot anyone out of their place, either! And she does have a way of communicating - without a computer, she'd be stuck, but it's communicating nonetheless. You don't have to put a lot of priority on her if you've already got people clamoring for spots, but I'd be down for pretty much any day. :D In other words, go ahead and let me know if something opens up, and I'll be there!

Haha, maybe Lyall should get her a little wooden laptop like Julien used for the network in that one post. That would just be oddly adorable.

But truly, I did say priority goes to lowest number of echoes who isn't in a group, right now Jack is it and mun understands that, though I know Jack's situation kinda sucks too. Heck, if I had a way to work it out so one of my own characters would meet up with Stella, so would be all for it to help you out. I'll go hit up Karl's mun and see if there's something that we can work out for both to see it at the same time so we can have the win-win of not booting someone and Stella gets in as well and good chance for new CR as well!

... that would be insanely cute ngl

thank you so much for putting so much legwork into this! It's really difficult to get her into anything, i know, so if you need help networking or brainstorming please give me a ping. :D

Karl's mun said that was fine as long as you two can work in him chasing it and pulling a gun on Colette by mistake which probably is doable. You can go comment here to work out some more plans but I left a potential idea to make things work out and have you two for the 24th now without having to boot anyone!
