Mod Announcements / PLOT POST
Heya guys, this is pretty long overdue but here we go...!
First off, thank you thank you thank you to everyone who threw in a mod application over the last week. I know it's cheesy, but it really warms my heart to see people so invested and interested in the future of this game; above everything else, it's our full intention as the mods to continue making this as enjoyable as possible for all of you, and I can't even begin to express my gratitude for the patience you've shown us. THANK YOU.
With that said, we have brought on two more peeps as full mods- Blue and Krystal, who will be now be helping on everything from the plot to... well, basically everything. :D They will soon be available to answer questions and will before long begin such things as processing apps and Echoes as well. WISH THEM LUCK.
And now, what many of you have been waiting for more information on I know-
Current happenings and info on the upcoming plot.
• For now, everything listed on the last plot post remains pertinent, including what little info can be dug up on David Proud. Where he lives and currently works from are a mystery, any past addresses for either a dead end, with people who have never heard of him living where he used to - and employees who haven't seen him in years, respectively.
• Some time during the last few days, the forum where "No One" first put forward the idea of negotiating has gone down after the replies tapered off. How odd.
• There is also a new addition to what can be seen at the museum. Nearby the suspicious wolf statue, there is a cage behind a roped barrier, and in the cage is one of these things, a Galah. While odd enough on its own, should any of the reincarnated characters get near it, it will promptly begin to Freak Out, which will quickly be noted by at least one of the security guards stationed in the area.
For those who have a very keen eye, they may notice that the bird seems to have tiny humanlike thumbs where a wing's alula would be, and its eyes are a little... off. Similar to touching both statues, setting off the bird will cause suspicion to rise, albeit far more sharply. Exactly when it begins settling down (in other words, when whoever is making it agitated leaves) will be noted as well.
• Up until now, entering the mine has not proven to give participants anything interesting, but starting the twelfth, Wednesday, is when anyone who happens to wander in may meet the Sage of Earth. As mentioned before, he will only be willing to give answers once more people have gathered within the mines. He's also fully willing to wait a few days for people to be informed and gathered.
THIS IS A TRAP. Sorry.
All of those who are physically present for the Sage's speech - aside from an automatic Echo - will be subject to a yet to be seen unhappy time of things during their visit, whereas they will be in danger of losing their lives. Please keep this in mind when planning whether or not your character will attend.
I know many of you have already been laying out plans, so I'll let you continue on with that with this new kink thrown into the mix too. I strongly suggest that things be forward-dated here by at least a few days, so we don't run into as many continuity snags like with the hunting and fighting the werewolf/dog police- and so that anyone who might be connected to the network at the same time things are happening in the mines may have a chance to react in real time as well.
As always, please direct questions for the mods regarding these plot points to the thread below and not the post in general. Thank you!

I don't think I'm going to kill off Chris yet, even with her get-out-of-death-free card, just because said card comes with a lot of Problems, but time for traumatic echoes? HELLLL YEAH

I'm trying to figure out what Echo I want her to get from IT'S A TRAP
What I get her will depend on if we end up in an actual combat situation or not
Basically, will we have some ability to fight back (not exactly win, but fire some shots to keep whatever it is from coming for us), or will this be a straight up RUN LIKE HELL OR DIE situation? Or something else?
My feelings are
> if we can fight back, I want to give her back something like her ray guns, or at least metal arms
> if it's a run like hell, I'd rather go for some hideous PTSD of something from the Great War, or else running like hell from something worse
> if it's something else... something else
I know that plot! echoes don't have to be related to the plot (unlike canon echoes) but I just... sorta like it when they are >>;

Re: QUESTIONS GO HERE!
Is it possible for Alex to smuggle Gomez (a cat) inside? (Probably by
WEARING HIM AS A FURcarrying him in a backpack or messenger bag.)no subject

Re: QUESTIONS GO HERE!
So what would Haruka find if she hired a private investigator/whoever does this kind of work to tail the police chief, that army chief guy, and the cop who asked people questions and then trashed their houses?

In other words, it's probably a bad idea for anyone to go there from now on.

Or- is it preferable, from an ooc/plot standpoint, for the characters to NOT draw attention to themselves through the bird? Because if so then I can totally roll with that.

... From a plotting standpoint it mostly serves as a deterrent to more easy Echoes off the statues. The consequences would really only follow if your character cares to push it.

Anyway, hearing the Sage speak via the network may also cause an Echo, just like for those who actually meet him in person. Otherwise... I don't think so?
Re: QUESTIONS GO HERE!
...Jules disapproves of improper bird care, okay.

People in the museum will insist it's the pet of someone who works there and they aren't supposed to mess with him. However, as mentioned here, sticking around with the bird present would be... unwise.
