Plot post for April 28th!
This format of plot post is designed for players to ask questions and find ways to influence the plot. Be bold and ask what you can or can't do; the worst that can happen is that we will say no. As plots in Save the Earth are not self resolving nor on a time limit they can evolve in many ways. Although some potential outcomes are given, they are little more than suggestion and can be changed by character action. What role you take is up to you.
The post is also open for players to plot and coordinate between one another.
• The location page for Las Vegas is here.
• By suggestion, we’ve added location tags to the community: +location: las vegas and +location: locke city. New areas will be given new tags following the same format. Please use them!
• We’re merging the canon: character and {character} tags! From hereon out, please use the canon: character tag only. Thank you!
• If your character was interviewed by news crews and/or did not conceal their identity during Wise Snake’s rampage and you’ve yet to comment on what they would have shared with the FBI, please do so here!
• Vermini are still crawling around within the Las Vegas Echo boundary. Non-reincarnates continue to fail to notice them. As with previous encounters, Vermini flee from reincarnates, and evaporate into steam when killed.
They appear to be attracted to bodies of water and large expansions of grass.
• Detective Derrick Strutz is still investigating the Mandalay Beach homicide case. A few people have been called in for questioning, but no official suspects have been found.
• In Locke City, the criminal trials for former Police Chief Simon Edward, former Detective Jason Sherman, and former corrupt police officers began April 22nd. They will all be found guilty for various crimes relating to their abuse of power and negligence, and shipped off to jail.
With hostility in the local police sector removed, it seems like reincarnates in Locke City can breathe a little easier. However, if one recalls, there were other parties involved in the deaths and arson of Paul Ben and his family...
• On April 30th around 7:00pm, thirty minutes before the start of “O”, an aquatic Cirque du Soleil performance held at the Bellagio, performers will find a body floating on a raft made of lobsters and crabs strung together.
The victim is 20-year-old Angeline Strauss, one of several reincarnates who flocked to Las Vegas after Bonbright made a public offer to house them, free of charge, at the Marriott. She cameoed in several Vegas shows as an angel bass guitarist or an angel pole dancer. She was shot through the heart at an unknown location and then brought to the pool for the performers to discover. Two katana were found wedged in the cavity of the wound. Tied to one of the hilts was a written message that says: Don’t waste this gift.
Of great confusion is the fact that there were performers and employees in the general area when Strauss’ body was placed in the pool. No one appears to have witnessed the event. All personnel present at the theater will be taken in for questioning, but no definitive answers will be obtained.
Suffice to say, April 30th’s showing of “O” will be cancelled. The theater will be taped off for three days. Performances will start again on May 4th.
G-man, let us know if you’re still interested in having Mordin Solus work with Detective Strutz and your preferred method of contact.
• Something potentially familiar is about to happen with the Vermini. Between May 2nd and May 9th, characters in Las Vegas will have the opportunity to either notice an animal heavily infected by Vermini or a swarm of Vermini in their vicinity. If your character is in Las Vegas and you’re interested, please sign up under this thread by May 1st.
Sign ups are limited to 4 Vermini-infected animals and 4 Vermini swarms. Preference will be given to Las Vegas natives. We encourage threading the encounters with other Vegas-stationed characters.
• Either Vermini encounter will grant one plot Echo if the character has not yet encountered a Vermini in Las Vegas.
• As of April 28th, the alien broadcast no longer grants an Echo.
• Canon recurrences grant related Echoes!
