Giant Robot Check-In
Or things that are much LIKE giant robots.
So I figure it probably pertinent for those of us with freshly echoed giant robots/horrifying monstrosities/what have you to pick this discussion back up now that we're time-wise on the other side of Wise Snake.
What we do know is that the FBI will try to confiscate the Gundams/Evas to some capacity for the moment, but with the pilots still being able to oversee them, which is good since the Gundams and the Evas are locked to their pilots in one manner or another, but how is this to go about? That's mostly a mod question I'd suppose.
Really, I don't suppose any character is going to be in much of a position to stop the FBI from doing this for now, but if anyone is it'd probably be good to speak up~
As far as Neil is concerned, as the oldest of this motley crew of pilots, he's going to try and take some responsibility for the younger ones. (re: all of them) He would be trying ASAP to speak with the FBI and/or National Guard to try and leverage his military history and "hey we just saved the city" to get some cooperation. Which is the key thing - for right now, he's going to want to cooperate with the FBI if they're the ones overseeing the mecha.
But now that we've had some more experience with everything, does anyone else have any intentions? Plans? Figuring out where these weapons of mass destruction get shoved is probably vital for any of us doing much of anything, so it seems like a good thing to discuss!

Shinji and Rei both stuck around, eventually settling for waiting near Unit 01(Shinji's Eva) for whatever was going to happen next. That would leave Unit 00(Rei's Eva) unattended so depending on which they approached first someone might've thought it was abandoned oops. As Asuka's mum already brought up, both Evas have exceeded their five minute operation time(they usually run connected to a large power cord and only have five minutes of battery without it) and thus Shinji and Rei can't move them without assistance. Shinjj couldn't even get his to walk properly yet anyway. It's also not exactly locked to him specifically, but it will work best for him as the synch between Eva and pilot is specifically meant to function based on mother-child bond and it has his preincarnation's mother's soul. Adults absolutely cannot pilot it. Shinji doesn't know any of this, though, and will tell the FBI as much.
Being an extremely clingy pair of twins, Shinji and Rei generally will be trying to stick as close to each other as possible, though Shinji will be slightly less resistant to being separated for questioning. He'll tell them what he can about the Eva, which won't be a lot, but he won't mention the network unless asked specifically. I'd assume that whoever's questioning him is likely to pick up on his depression and anxiety issues because they surely know enough about psychology. He'll be extremely nervous about the whole thing and he'll be emphasizing the fact that he's really not that special, he doesn't know much of anything useful, he's not worth much to them because he's generally not worth much as a person and wouldn't be very good at piloting the robot anyway, etc. He's much less interested in his robot than most of the other pilots(and before the FBI arrived had to be talked into sticking around instead of pretending to have nothing to do with it). He's more interested in what's going to happen to and be asked of him now.
As for the hotel accommodations vs. being monitered at home, Shinji will want to know if he can at least contact his mother if he stays. He doesn't exactly want to deal with her in person(oops anxiety leads to avoidance) at the moment as much as he wants to see his pets. He would be more cooperative with staying if he can share a room with his sister
and if the hotel allows dogs.no subject
Some of the Gundams will eventually aid in moving the Eva Units to the Mechanical Engineering Department at Locke City University. The FBI will allow him to call his mother, though they'll be tapping into that conversation. They'll also allow him to room with his sister and dogs. The hotel does not want, but too bad!
The pilots will have the freedom to return home whenever they want to, but again, will be monitored by the FBI.
