Giant Robot Check-In

Or things that are much LIKE giant robots.

So I figure it probably pertinent for those of us with freshly echoed giant robots/horrifying monstrosities/what have you to pick this discussion back up now that we're time-wise on the other side of Wise Snake.

What we do know is that the FBI will try to confiscate the Gundams/Evas to some capacity for the moment, but with the pilots still being able to oversee them, which is good since the Gundams and the Evas are locked to their pilots in one manner or another, but how is this to go about? That's mostly a mod question I'd suppose.

Really, I don't suppose any character is going to be in much of a position to stop the FBI from doing this for now, but if anyone is it'd probably be good to speak up~

As far as Neil is concerned, as the oldest of this motley crew of pilots, he's going to try and take some responsibility for the younger ones. (re: all of them) He would be trying ASAP to speak with the FBI and/or National Guard to try and leverage his military history and "hey we just saved the city" to get some cooperation. Which is the key thing - for right now, he's going to want to cooperate with the FBI if they're the ones overseeing the mecha.

But now that we've had some more experience with everything, does anyone else have any intentions? Plans? Figuring out where these weapons of mass destruction get shoved is probably vital for any of us doing much of anything, so it seems like a good thing to discuss!

RE: Mecha Research

As discussed with mods in the thread above, Eugen will most likely be in the research team representing the pilots (unless there's someone else more qualified among the pilots) under the FBI surveillance. That said, he will try and conceal some information covertly (especially if he receive them through echoes so it's less likely to be discovered) and work his way up the rank. However, that being said, his specialty is Mechanical Engineering. As I remembered, the EVAs are half bio/half mecha so he's not going to be of much help there.

Other than that, I have no other plan in mind right now and is open to suggestion. Eugen, all in all, is a researcher and is likely to cooperate if he believes it will keep them safe.

i pretty much have nothing of value to contribute beyond what was already said in the plotting threads, i think -- banagher is going to comply, because 1. holy shit the FBI, and 2. he doesn't have any better ideas. plus, he's not going to get any information or skills back relevant to maintaining the gundam, since he was reliant on others in canon to do those things. (which will also stand here.) i said he'd be fully willing to let people crawl up into the cockpit to prove the unicorn won't work if it's not him in the chair, and that still stands too! as long as he can still have access to the unicorn he'll do whatever's necessary.

i'd say the only place that could house the things is fort turner, but that would likely be a horrible idea, given the state of the military presence in locke...

so yes MY ONLY PERTINENT QUESTION I NEED TO GET MY AFTERMATH THREADS + POTENTIAL POST/CHECKING IN INFO is how and where the mecha are being transported out of the business district. while the pilots probably fared physically better, i have a feeling it's going to be a longer few days for them while they get their crap sorted.

How about for the first 24 hours, the pilots are told to gather their mechas in one designated spot (still in the Business District, somewhere that's been cleared of civilians and is pretty much decimated)? The FBI will set up a perimeter around the mechas, guard them, and usher the pilots away for questioning.

After that period, the FBI could appropriate some Mechanical Engineering Department facilities and send all of the mechas there.

It is possible for pilots to have escaped (ie abandoned their mechas), in which case the FBI/Guard could guard those separately (and with annoyance, probably).

I'd like to know who remained, who's cooperating, and what specifically they told or will tell the FBI. Assume the FBI flat out asked them for everything they know. We've designated the two-week breather period to be a "safe" period without overt investigation into reincarnates, but the mecha pilots are a bit different because of how obvious the mechas are.
