Of a sorts.

So, Lily has posted over here regarding pinning down what's going on with the Vermini in Vegas. It's what's going on there, so hey - why not focus on it, right?

One thing I had been planning to do this week was throw up a general search and mingle log for her team and try to draw other folks wandering around town into it - but well, then I figured that would be far easier done if she at least drew attention to her intentions first.

Most importantly, however, is the intention to capture one - alive, if possible I think. Mordin wants one of those critters for a dissection, and in spite of how slippery they are I'd think we've got enough tools at our disposal to pull that off. HOWEVER, as it was pointed out not something that's too easy, I figured it prudent to ask - both IC and OOC - if anyone has any specific ideas, or else we're going to get some comical sights of magical girls bouncing across the Vegas strip trying to wrestle alien vermin to the ground.

If there are any general thoughts about all that, please toss it out!

Hey everyone! As some may have noticed due to my ramblings recently, Miles is growing up much faster than a regular human thanks to his Wise Snake echo. Because this obviously will have a big impact on his daily life, I'm sharing my plans for him!

Last month was mild-- he is physically 18 and has a deeper voice. However, this month will bring the most changes. Come the 17th, he will be physically 21 and drop out from school and work. So classmates, schoolmates and teachers at LCHS and even people at Thunder Corp, feel free to wonder what happened to him! If you'd like your character to visit his house to speak with his mother, feel free to do so. The official story is that Miles has run away from home-- which is of course not true but by that day he'll already have been reported missing to the police. If Miles actually knows they're on the network, he might reveal himself since he'll be eavesdropping on the conversation. We could even log that, if you want o/

On the 20th he'll try and visit the LSR clinic to get himself checked and such, so if any doctors want to help him out, I'll be happy to thread with you. Around the same time he'll also be making a network post along the lines of "hi i'm not dead but look what happened to me instead". By that point I'll also be switching over to

caladrius.

He'll be 24 by the end of the month, just for reference, and thanks to Varric (

sayhitobianca) he'll be sporting a new identity: Miles Hope Estheim-- because Miles is not the most creative of people when it comes to names (he named his dog after an Android OS for god's sake). But at least he can still be called Miles 8')

By May 10 he'll be finished with this awkward phase! He will be physically 27, 5'11", and look like this, sans white hair. He'll continue to visit the LSR clinic though, just to make sure he's okay, but he'll definitely breathe a sigh of relief when he realizes he's done aging.

Okay I'm done rambling. TLDR tiny boy is no longer tiny. So, who wants to plot?

Today is the day Winter's party leaves for Vegas - it departs at 3 PM from the high school. Winter's father, Rick Adamas, will be pulling up to the front door of the school in a shiny blue Tahoe that he's taken delivery of in her name this morning. My final tally of characters in that car, based on OOC plotting and her IC post: Winter, Lily, Marina, Jasmine, Russel, Annie, Kari, and Winter's father. There's enough space for everyone's stuff, and she's made quite a few preparations as needed. If this isn't right, please correct me; I'll be doing stuff as able this weekend in keeping with it as written, mostly consisting of a travel log or two. I'm on vacation and without my laptop; I'll be borrowing a computer to make posts and tags, plus the occasional phone tag.

That said, is anyone else from Locke City going to Vegas? I'm not aware of more than one or two other characters going, so are we depending on new characters to make up the manpower on the ground? If anyone else is going, I would be up for plotting, or at least a head count so I know what to expect!

Come this Thursday, the daughter of a high ranking Thunder Corp official will be kidnapped, and official word from the police heading the investigation will point at strong evidence that the reincarnates were the perpetrators. (Spoiler alert: It was actually the Blood Keys. The Blood Keys are to blame here. ~~Sort of.~~)

So I figure it probably pertinent for those of us with freshly echoed giant robots/horrifying monstrosities/what have you to pick this discussion back up now that we're time-wise on the other side of Wise Snake.

What we do know is that the FBI will try to confiscate the Gundams/Evas to some capacity for the moment, but with the pilots still being able to oversee them, which is good since the Gundams and the Evas are locked to their pilots in one manner or another, but how is this to go about? That's mostly a mod question I'd suppose.

Really, I don't suppose any character is going to be in much of a position to stop the FBI from doing this for now, but if anyone is it'd probably be good to speak up~

As far as Neil is concerned, as the oldest of this motley crew of pilots, he's going to try and take some responsibility for the younger ones. (re: all of them) He would be trying ASAP to speak with the FBI and/or National Guard to try and leverage his military history and "hey we just saved the city" to get some cooperation. Which is the key thing - for right now, he's going to want to cooperate with the FBI if they're the ones overseeing the mecha.

But now that we've had some more experience with everything, does anyone else have any intentions? Plans? Figuring out where these weapons of mass destruction get shoved is probably vital for any of us doing much of anything, so it seems like a good thing to discuss!

SO. I'm not sure if you guys are aware, but we KINDA had a very big, very public snakefight in downtown Locke happen today!

Obviously the news is all over it and everyone is finding out about the incarnates, which means that people like the Fentons (read: conspiracy theorists) are finding out about all of this. Which means, they are gonna go ballistic with all-new theories. As a result, I'm going to be making another conspiracy theory compilation post soon--and this time I want your help! Because I'm sorry but there is no way I am going to read all 3k+ comments of that log. (I will, however, be checking the interviews thread specifically for stuff to use as rumors, so if you're on there, I'm gonna see it!)

BASICALLY, If you want word of your character's powers/echoes/whatever specifically to spread to the local kooks, comment here and tell me what they did at the fight or what you think the rumors should be and I'll be happy to try and include it! All the rumors will, as per usual with the Fentons, be very silly and probably spectacularly inaccurate.

Greeting, Earth Savers!

A little while ago there was a discussion on Plurk about putting up a thread in the Wise Snake battle to give players not involved the defeat thread a chance to get involved/say what their characters were up to when Wise Snake went down.

Well, here it is!

I mentioned it in the OOC note on the post but it bears repeating that the point of this thread is not to intervene or get involved with Wise Snake's defeat. What it IS is a chance for other characters to have something to point to and say that's what they got up to, even if that was just running interference and keeping the Scales busy.

So, go forth and do whatever!

A thought has occurred to me, in the lead-up to the Wise Snake fight. Specifically, that Fred's most useful abilities will probably be his magical ones, since he's got a low-level sword and the enemy's basically made of rock.

Unfortunately, his preincarnation was not a primary caster, so he's got a pretty small mana pool to draw on. The solution, of course, is to refill that mana pool, but the options for doing that are limited. His canon - or at least his part of it - only has one inventoryable MP-refiller.

So here's where things get tricky. I doubt there are going to be any yet-unannounced opportunities for plot Echoes in the next week, which means I'd need a recurrence. Since the item in question is not plot-relevant in canon, it seems to me that the best way to recur it would be an encounter with one of the monsters that drop it.

So. Do we have anyone that can and would manifest, preferably in-world as opposed to just an image/video, any of the following: mimic (animated treasure chest), gryphon, mummy, skeletal sorcerer, or animated suit of armor?

Hey! This is Lucy, with Aria, Sophie, and Sierra. And this is just a quick heads up (for those I haven't spoken with personally/those who hadn't seen) about something that is going to occur with Aria during the Wise Snake battle. Namely, she is going to die. She will however still be around, simply as a ghost (and markedly more subdued personality-wise in the gloomy and fatalistic sense, but still around). She will not be visible or audible to anyone who does not have the ability to speak to the dead in canon (and I will throw up a log at some point for interactions with her later on in person, since several people have mentioned they could echo off of that) and will be communicating through text for the most part.

Since that is so, I ask that everyone please check her text opt-out post, which displays how she types so you can see if you want to opt out. Also, I will be transitioning to

gh0stly after the log. :|b

The log for Wise Snake's emergence, set ICly March 9th, will be posted THIS WEEKEND - March 1st or 2nd.

All detailed information on the event is here.

Remember that all characters in-game may participate, and that participation makes any character eligible for a Tier 2 Echo that will not count toward their limit for the month of March.

Expect the log to be divided into the following parts via headers:

- GENERAL: A character does not need to be directly in harm's way to participate in the event; if you'd like to assume that your character's swept into chaos a safe distance from the fray, by all means do so. A character needs only be feasibly present in the business district during Wise Snake's rampage to qualify for an event Echo.

- WISE SNAKE: Combat against both Wise Snake and its scale snakes, both to be NPCed by players - Wise Snake will not engage with characters on its own, but it will react to attacks.

- WISE SNAKE'S DEFEAT [CLOSED]: This thread will be restricted to characters entered into and selected from the previous post's sign-up - Holly Avalon, Skyler Veracruz, Blaine Frost, Karl Aurion, Banagher Links, Lily Tsukiyomi, Jasmine Tsukiyomi, Winter Adamas, and Alan Hunter.

- THE AFTERMATH: Threads set after Wise Snake has been brought down.

- THE INTERVIEWS: If you'd like your character approached by the media rarin' to speak with one of the superhumans who came roaring onto the scene to do combat with a real-life giant monster, you may NPC one with a fellow player/fellow players or request a mod-played interviewer. This thread may be opened a few days after the others - thus after a good amount of action has already been set as having taken place!

Plan and coordinate accordingly - and if you have any lingering questions, please bring them here!

So while I realized that apps were closing soon, I didn't actually realize how LONG they were going to be closed for so now I have like 36 hours to do this app and I wanted to post up a last minute grab for pre-network CR, since I didn't get a chance to put him up in any 'potential characters' threads anywhere.

I'm apping this guy. A bit of a mad scientist, a bit of a hyper nerd, a bit of a guilt ridden sad sack who gets in way over his head. Fun for the whole family! In Locke city he's going to be a 26 year old programming and computer genius who works for Google. Or whatever the google equivalent in universe is. He went to med school at some point early in his school career but dropped out as soon as they started working on cadavers because of his first echo and it being wow much traumatic. No more blood please. He switched his career path asap to computer programming, and never looked back. Until lots of weird shit started going down in Locke city which made him think about that odd long number string he'd never been able to find a pattern or reason for.

YEAH that's the bare bones of it I'll update this later with a link to his app if/when it gets near to completion. Hit me up if you think we can work something out! I'll be on aim and plurk as iamtheuberlorax for faster contact if you like.

aka A DISASTER.

So here's the idea: The LCHS student theatre has a studio piano that is sometimes used for sound cues and music and whatnot. Russel echoed back a song. Sometime next week he is going to sit down at that piano and find out he can play this song, and when he does that he is going to Echo back a second thing.

The second thing will make itself known when he tries to play this song again and accidentally summons A FUCKING FIREBIRD in the middle of the student theatre. The curtains will definitely end up on fire and there will probably be some structural scorch damage.

Also the cops will be called and Russel will end up with a 3-day suspension and a bill for damages HA HA WHOOPS. (He'll be covering his ass by claiming he was testing some special effects for the drama club THAT WENT HORRIBLY, HORRIBLY WRONG.)

This will be happening after school probably, though it could happen during lunch and end up with a fire alarm, if fellow players of LCHS students are interested. I will probably have him make a post to be like "OMG YOU GUYS I CAN PLAY A SONG COME CHECK IT OUT" so if your character has reason to be curious, they could be there to witness the disaster in person. Also broadcast over the network. 8|b

It's probably a good idea if there's an in-person witness with an ability that's good for putting out fires, I'm just sayin.

ANYWAY THE INTENT IS FOR THIS TO BE REALLY STUPID AND RIDICULOUS so if you're interested in being a part of that come on in!!

Sooo whenever the farmhouse infiltration/attack thing happens, John here is going to get mortally wounded and thus regenerate!

For those not familiar with Doctor Who, regeneration is, in other words, complete cellular regeneration. When a Time Lord is mortally wounded or dying, or if they feel like they've had one body for long enough, they rewrite every single cell in their body and end up with a new one, along with a new personality (even though the core is the same).

First of all, this means a change of journal to

Secondly, it means... stuff.

Regeneration leaves you a bit winded. It hurts a lot, your body's new (and he's going to grow a head taller so that'll be fun), and the cells of your brain have gotten all scrambled. I haven't decided exactly how he'll feel afterwards - if he'll pass out or if there'll be something else off, or a bit of both - but he's going to need help to get out of harm's way. Any volunteers? And if he passes out, anyone willing to help him get to the clinic or something? If anyone would care enough to just not leave him there, considering how chaotic it's all undoubtedly going to be.

And then after the farmhouse business ...

John's going to conclude that it's probably best if he just lets people think he's disappeared/dead. He's going to make a post and ask for suggestions and things. Also how the hell to go about probably getting new IDs and things. And whether or not he should let his family think he's dead because that is the worst thing ever, or should he tell them. He won't know which is the better idea. Weeps.

He's also not going to have a job anymore, and is going to ask about a spot at the clinic.

EDIT: THOUGHT OF MORE. Apartment. He'll hardly be able to keep it. So he'd like to get the TARDIS out of there and he'll need help with that. Especially since it doesn't fit through doorways. Welp.

Hello! So, following the replies to the post on the results of the farmhouse scouting, Alexander got the idea to either have a meeting in person or put up a new post specifically asking for ideas on a follow-up mission to the farmhouse – ie. confronting the alien.

Now, I’m thinking Alex would favor the in-person meeting because everyone gets to see who they’re potentially working with. If no one has any qualms with this, then we’ll say an in-person meeting will happen. If your character has access to a large room/property and they’d be willing to open the space for the meeting, then that would be fantastic! Please let me know!

I’m thinking the meeting happens after Danny’s test to see how many other people he can make intangible since that’s a skill they’ll likely want to take into account. SO. Any day after 1/18 (Sat), likely close to. ~~Maybe the day after, 1/19 (Sun) if there are no objections?~~ New date being considered; please weigh in if you've a preference!

I can post an IC notice in advance so the Network knows when/where/etc.

Either way, I think it’s more convenient OOC-wise to handwave the IC discussion and figure it out OOC.

So, I think the main questions to discuss/answer in this post are:
1) Who attends the meeting?
2) What ideas do they throw out? What plan of action do they decide on?
3) Who volunteers to participate in the mission itself?

Please note: if a character lacks the means to defend themselves or hasn’t got a skill that might be valuable to the mission, they may be passed over IC-wise or delegated to something else. I certainly want to include as many interested parties as possible while also taking IC considerations into account.

I think that’s it!! Please go wild with ideas!

ALSO: if there are more questions/points you want to bring up, by all means, go for it!

thewinningside) and Ravi have previously discussed going back to the Tuning Towers basements and sabotaging the excavation equipment to prevent Thunder Corp from reaching Wise Snake.

Here's the thing tho: OOCly, if another Tuning Towers mission happens and they do succeed in sabotaging the equipment, it will delay season 2. Would everyone be okay with this?
And, if people in general do NOT want season 2 to be delayed, would you be okay with a mission that fails catastrophically instead?

The general idea here is that Ravi actually wants to check out that building Thunder erected in the Dead District and he thinks it might be more important than sabotaging the excavation equipment at Tuning Towers. And he is TOTALLY willing to let Zelos run a decoy expedition to the TT basements while he is secretly running one to the DD. Which means he's also intentionally setting Zelos up as the fall-guy if something goes wrong with the TT mission (Zelos-mun has said they are okay w/this).

The TT mission would be publicly planned and open to whoever wanted to sign up, but the DD mission would be on the down-low and probably planned over Chris's Darknet instead (OOCly I will find a way around this if your char isn't on Darknet but you still want them involved). Ravi doesn't want any risk of cops/Blood Keys/general idiots ruining that plan, since it's essentially another recon mission.

How do y'all feel about this? Succeed with the sabotage or fail, and if fail, how catastrophically do you want it to fail?

ETA: To be clear, Zelos is NOT going to be informed that his group is a decoy for Ravi's group. Ravi's intent is that very few people outside of the DD-mission group even know it's happening.

ETA2: Chart of sign-ups so far is here, including a second sheet for votes for a delay on season 2. I used char names to track the votes because I don't know everyone's aliases. If you want to weigh in with a vote, feel free to add it to the list.

I am going to have to say sign-ups for DD are closed. 2 MC + 10 people and a ferret is about as large as a recon mission should get.

TT sign-ups however remain open, so anybody can still get involved there.

wow you guys im floored i have so many tags on gavin's new post im overwhelmed?? still manning up to deal with these IC consequences haha

i've already talked to some people about Things Happening but the rundown is mostly Gavin and Luke will try and fight some BK members and it'll trigger an echo to make Gavin turn into this plus the uncontrollable hunger for flesh. he'll proceed to gnaw on one of the NPCs before turning on Luke and chasing him but eventually passing out and reverting because his body can't handle Vayu's strength yet or something (echo limitations and such.)

if someone wants to come find him/help him afterward that's great. there's the possibility that he could get arrested too of course but that would probably end up with some injured cops (and more echoes since they sneak into a prison in canon and get put in a cell haha oops)

Hey guys! I've been getting a LOT of people who have been mentioning that they'd like some rumors about their characters floating around the Keys, which is a-o-good with me! I feel like having a repository of rumors/info floating around the various Key squads would be prudent with the amounts of information I'm getting since there is more than one Network Key (looking at you, Jesús) and the information should be readily available to them as well. I was thinking about uploading it to a Google doc or something. No real promises because lbr how long are the Keys gonna stay alive anyway, but I'd like to at least get this all down in the same place. :)b

Generally, even though they haven't settled on a united, "official" name, I assume that the Keys are calling the network people weirdos, the weird ones, crazies, or aggros. (If anyone's got better ideas for names please let me know sobbing) Feel free to assume that one of those names got thrown at your characters in a tussle!
