In the context of an upcoming plot event, there will be a wonderful, unique chance for wonderful, unique echoes! Echoes so wonderful and unique indeed that we can only have a small amount of them, which brings us to the following: Between today and the 31st (7:00pm GMT), you will be able to submit what you would like your character(s) to pulse back; and then until the 5th, everyone will get to vote on which four of those proposed pulses shall become reality. The mods will pick between one and four additional ones of those proposals to round the whole thing off a bit, and then they will take effect over the course of a few weeks.

Now what kind of echoes are we talking about?
- HUGE ONES. More specifically: Buildings, forests, (parts of) mountains, and whatever else is immobile and large. Rules about the size of echoes are obviously suspended in this case, but we'll reserve the option to downsize things in one way or the other to make them workable.
- The echoes in question should carry some significance for the character who echoes them, but in this instance the degree of importance to the character is irrelevant: Living near/in the place or it having a moderately important position in one's life is enough. For example: Any Attack on Titan character could echo Wall Sina, any The Hobbit dwarf could echo the Lonely Mountain, any Pokemon character could echo a Pokecenter and any student of Hogwarts could echo any part of the school grounds.
- The echoes will be plot echoes and thus won't need a trigger; they will be available to characters in both Vegas and Locke.
- Please keep it to a maximum of two echo suggestions per character. In the end, a maximum of one echo per player will be granted (in case more than one echo of a player end up in the top four, the highest ranking one will be implemented).

Please peruse the form below:

Echo: THE ABYSS

The Abyss is an Alice in Wonderland-themed nightmare dimension that is full of gigantic horrible creatures called Chains which like to eat humans. They take the form of deformed people, animals, or things. They can be kinda cute or really ....uhhhhhh. The Abyss itself exists as a parallel dimension which connects to all points of space and time. You can access it via one of four gates or via cracks in reality.

Why it would be awesome: Characters can wander through a gate out of curiosity, or fall in through a chink in reality. Then - RUN FROM MONSTERS! Getting out is a trick, because you either have to find the gate again (not easy) or persuade a monster (Chain) to help you out. Chains are generally only willing to do that if you FORM A CONTRACT WITH THEM which means they give you access to their magic powers TM in exchange for being fed lots of humans and your soul. If you stay too long in the Abyss you become a Chain yourself.

Chains like to try to sneak out of the Abyss via cracks in reality, although they can't exist outside of the Abyss for very long. So CHAINS IN VEGAS could be a thing, at least temporarily. Or anywhere in the world, really, because....

THE ABYSS CONNECTS TO ALL POINTS IN SPACE AND TIME. Which means time travel shenanigans can happen, if you want to get really fancy. It could also exist as an instant travel conduit between Vegas and NJ, for instance, for characters clever/talented enough to negotiate the Abyss.

Obviously the mods will likely want to limit this in a whole variety of ways, but those are the possibilities, at least.

Character: Anthony | Eternal Darkness
Echo: The Oublié Cathedral Old Tower - a chapel with two levels anyone was meant to see. To the left of the entrance of the main floor is a small meeting room which would be effectively a hundred percent empty when the chapel was Echoed, if it will be Echoed. In the front would be an empty coffin, optionally containing a corpse in a robe with its ribcage blasted open from the inside.

Also on the left directly from the entrance is a set of stairs leading to a study occupied by three desks and three bookshelves, full, lined with books, extremely dusty, in medieval Latin, and religious in content.

Moving one of the books on the middle shelf would cause the right one on the slide to open the way to a ladder leading below the main level to a couple levels of catacombs, stalked by skeletons and mummies. Also lumbering about someplace is a Horror - as well as dog-sized Trappers, the latter of which can canonically teleport living creatures to an escapable side-dimension with a "sting". Since that dimension hasn't been Echoed into existence, they wouldn't do anything but make agitated chirping sounds, flash green, and attempt to sting anyone making too much noise and/or stepping on one.

The catacombs would lead back through several torch-lined rooms decorated here 'n there with a spooky occult sensibility (there's a gargoylish baptismal font that appears to generate what may or may not just be badly tainted water), down another flight of stairs, and eventually, through a study full of mostly literally unreadable eldritch texts with a pressure plate panel in the back leading to a dead end at a small room with a candle-lined shrine of dubious nature. Also sitting here and there one'd be able to pick up one of three stone tablets

Prolonged exposure to and/or eye contact with the skeletons, mummies, or Horror will stress anyone going down into the catacombs to the point of vividly hallucinating (audiovisually and otherwise). How much they can take and how bad it'll get all depends on individual nerve and/or stability - but de-stressing (there's a character in canon who can boost his sanity at will by taking a swig from a flask) and/or finishing monsters off when they're downed relieves it some! The skeletons are weak; the mummies are somewhat stronger; the Horror's tough but can be brought down by sufficiently damaging all three of its eyes - if you can get close enough to do so, as it has wide reach with those claws and can channel corrosive sorta-energy bolts across the floor at targets, which also damage sanity. Cutting the head off a skeleton will both keep it from coming after you; a cutting any limbs off a mummy will leave a "ghost-limb" in its place, meaning one could cut off an arm and still be scratched or cut off a head and still be seen.

Mind you, it's logical to assume the effect of coming face to face with what are technically eldritch creatures from beyond the veil sticks with an entity from this plane we all know 'n love, and so it isn't a stretch to assume that even after the monsters are all wiped out, anyone who crossed paths with one will be prone to episodes of losing touch with reality under downright dire stress. If anyone wishes to assume so and/or play with it, that'd be optional but certainly up to them. 8|b

Why it would be great: Come, now, not everything an Echo can bring on has got to be completely convenient!

The catacombs would make a decent out-of-the-way base in their own right, and a secure one (maybe you've heard of that mythical place called the Couuurt of Miracles), given that they've got a good number of chambers and amount of space and only one small not-explicitly-obvious entrance, but they would be far from a packaged-and-ready-to-use one! If a small bit of exploration/messing with characters/let's-pretend-to-be-Lovecraft-protagonists wouldn't be the opposite of anyone's idea of an enjoyable time, it'd be just a bit extra to play with. And it'd still have some "flavor" when and if it's cleared out by virtue of its content and decor. In fact, it needn't even be cleared out entirely - without the Trapper Dimension, the Trappers are completely harmless.

The chapel itself, meanwhile, is a plain old reasonably nice chapel, not taking the catacombs into account.

The legitimate books might just be worth money if nothing else, as well, if anything could prove or vouch for authenticity, and as for the assorted eldritch texts and what-have-yous, again, they'd add a bit of flavor, and possibly be something to further fool around with and wring something out of with a bit of brainstorming.

I'd be delighted to elaborate on or attempt to explain anything - or to brainstorm things as was stated, if it's chosen!

Echo:

Wammy's House is an orphanage/boarding school located in the Death Note universe's Winchester, England. Founded by Quillish Wammy, its purpose is to raise young geniuses, as well as cultivate gifted superdetectives. It's basically an Xavier's School for Gifted Batmen.

Why it would be Awesome: The gated historic mansion blends the old with the new; decorated with an appreciation for Victorian aesthetics but outfitted with the best technology 2004 had to offer in terms of computers, lab equipment, classrooms, and a beautiful library, the House is both an opulent place to live and an incredible place to learn. With those high gates and that high security, it's built with shielding vulnerable young tenants in mind, and would be ideal as both a home base for a resistance group and a fortress in case current Numbered hangouts aren't able to withstand the prejudice of the masses... for awhile, anyway.

Character: Julien/Yuuya | Hatoful Boyfriend
Echo: St. Pigeonation's Academy

By the pigeon, of the pigeon, and for the pigeon. It's a gated, well-appointed Japanese high school with multiple buildings on a campus. The campus includes trees, a track surrounded by bleachers, an incinerator, and an open area suitable for festivals or sacrificial bonfires. Here is a map of the main academic building; attached to it is a building for the gym and pool. A nearby building has the cafeteria, and there is an abandoned hall that's been sealed off.

Inside the main building there is a library, light airy classrooms and hallways, a well-stocked infirmary, chemistry room, council room, a second floor patio, music room, and others including a radio broadcast room. The roof is accessible.

It has its secrets. Underground there is a medical center/laboratory that has been used to work towards the extermination of humankind. A great iron dome can be activated to seal the whole thing off from the outside world.

Why it would be great:

At a glance this location seems pretty innocuous. It's just a Japanese school! Going through it you quickly realize it's not built quite according to human standards. There's a great emphasis on windows and good lighting and the main hallways are wide and high-ceilinged, but non-main doors are wide and low. On the stairs the steps are plentiful and shallow. Plenty of rooms not made for a lot of traffic are made for beings half the height of humans. The chairs look normal enough but are made so even heavy birds can perch on the backs. Supplies are not made for humans.

Then there's the fact that this is a school established in 2180. Technology is far beyond the present day, as indicated by the computers, medicines, and some of the contents of the library. This is a school from a world where humans are a fading race and uplifted birds have taken over. There are also signs that someone has been murdering students.

Explore long enough and you might find the underground facility. It includes a burned room where people can be trapped and gassed. Here humans were taken and killed during virus research, and drugs were created to enhance avian strength. The basically impermeable iron dome can also be activated and shut and won't open again for twelve hours, all part of a really nasty plan.

Echo: Venus Lighthouse. Think of a lightouse, but more... venus. Nah, I kid. It's a cylindrical tower, probably no more than ten stories high, flared at the base. At the top it splits into three parallel structures: the central aerie (which contains the beacon) and its two flanking elevators, which are primarily used for descent. (Have a couple of pictures, because I'm not confident in my ability to describe.)

Within, the lighthouse is a video game dungeon, which means monsters (that may or may not be there, depending on how this gets implemented; if they're there, most of them are somewhat, though not hugely, more powerful than the Wise Snake's scales) and puzzles, most of them involving moving flows of sand and/or pushable blocks. Entry is actually somewhat complicated; the front door is mostly an exit, although the "lock" for the actual entrance is there. The proper entrance is through a long tunnel that leads to the basement, and I think I'll leave it at that for now because this description is going to be long anyway.

The thing about Venus Lighthouse is that it's a source (arguably almost the source) of earth magic. If your character's powers are based in the element of earth, those powers will be easier to use and quicker to recover while your character's in the lighthouse. Additionally, if the lighthouse is lit (see below), it will spread earth energy all over the place. In canon this mostly manifests in the form of earthquakes that tear a peninsula off of its continent and awaken a sleeping sea god, but I have extensive headcanon involving other ways it could work.

Lighting the Lighthouse is... complicated. If it shows up lit, fine, it'll stay that way; if not, I'd need at least one canonmate to change that, because I'd have to bend quite a lot of plausibility to get the requisite item for Fred. (Said item is an earth-aligned gem that, according to lore, holds incredible power; a character in a position to know claims that someone who holds just one of the four could conquer the world. Felix is not known to have ever touched it, although he did hold two of the others and traveled with someone who carried the earth one.) As well, when the lighthouse becomes lit its earth energy surges dangerously.

If you want further explanation of any aspect, please say so; I could probably talk about this for pages, but I doubt most of you want to read all of those pages.

Character: Winter Adamas | Rikka Hishikawa | Dokidoki Precure
Echo: Yotsuba Compound

One of Rikka's two best friends, Alice Yotsuba (Cure Rosetta, their yellow, but that's for another day), is very, very rich. The Yotsuba Group controls quite a lot of property, and wields quite a bit of power. Among the Group's holdings are a kilometer-tall radio tower, a television station, apparently something resembling Apple... the list goes on. The family lives not far from the corner where Mana and Rikka live, in a huge mansion at the center of a large gated complex. There's plenty of greenery, and a clearing not far from the house where Alice frequently sets up tea parties for herself and her closest friends, a group that eventually numbers six. It's a really big mansion, with plenty of art and decorations inside, as well as quite a bit of technology and security. Cameras everywhere, steel shutters on every window, a bodyguard team that will be regretfully absent... and quite a bit of technological capability in the basement. Fanon nicknames Alice as "Cure Batman", and it's no surprise. There's a lot of stuff in here, and her butler has fashioned a wide variety of gadgets for her use. All of them come from here. What can only be called an audience room features a projector, a quality sound system, and various ways to move objects in; the actual meeting room is a proper boardroom with seating for a couple dozen at least.

One of the reasons Alice's mansion is appealing is that it has a lot of space; it could serve as a hideout or even stronghold for the reincarnates, and it's easily defensible, particularly if someone bothers to find the security room. There's also plenty of capacity for technology, and plans for a few gadgets near to hand; if the need ever came up (mostly for events), there are some useful plot-relevant items that could be crafted. There are also hidden passages everywhere, and a veritable arsenal of equipment (which could be taken away at will), including at least one limo, at least one helicopter, and a jet plane capable of atmospheric entry and exit.

It also provides a nice, relatively neutral place to hold meetings and the like - the lawn is big enough that you could run a large event with all of the reincarnates and not have to worry about space, let alone the house.

Echo: The Narumi Detective agency slash billiard hall. The first floor is the billiard hall, and around the back is a detective agency with a kitchen, a sitting area, a small bed, and a bunch of dork books. There is also a secret hangar with lots of whiteboards, a cot, and a giant weird conveyance called the Revolgarry (existence of Revolgarry negotiable)

Why it would be awesome: The billiard hall could be a pretty classy hangout to ruin with dorknerds and tryhards. The agency itself is kind of a place for people with nowhere else to go, with cots and couches and coffee and the like. Also other things that don't start with c. The agency could be a meeting place for numbered folks as well.

Echo: A Senkaimon.

Why it would be great: In Toushirou's old life, the Senkaimon was a way to travel between Soul Society and the Living World, but it would be tweaked here to be a way to travel between Echo barriers. A subsequent Echo would allow him to make permanent two-way gates under certain circumstances (I'd probably use his recurrence one for this). Later on, there would be a quick and easy way to get through here, but that's a different Echo, so at first this would require traveling through the Dangai which ain't the safest thing. A wrong step could get you stuck, and watch out for the "street sweeper" that shows up in there once a week!

Echo: Orbital Elevator

As the name suggest, it's a vertical elevator into space, primarily used to transport material to and from space. It's a megastructure build to function in combined capacity of an orbital elevator and a solar power satellite capable of generating and transporting solar energy as power source to the entire planet in Gundam 00's world. The existence of these orbital elevator are paramount to the livelihood of millions of people due to their reliance on solar power (every other power sources has been outlawed). It's also a destination for space tourism where you can view the earth from space.

The structure of the orbital elevator is compromised of 2 geostationary rings:-
Low Orbit Station - consisting of commercial & residential areas as well as the tourism center. This is also where the civilian linear trains stop. Gravity block is enforced in this area.

High Orbit Station - this is where the military base is located, along with a personnel station, mission control room and Mobile Suits hangar.

An orbiting satellite station build into the elevator functions as the military operations HQ for defensive purposes and general maintenance.

Last but not least, there are linear trains that run up to both Low (civilian) and High Orbit Station (military) with cargo capacity.

Here's the base of the orbital elevator for size comparison.

Why it would be awesome:
1. Infinite solar power to tap for robot maintenance and everything that needs power usage.
2. Mobile Suits hangar + facility for the Gundams and everything robotic.
3. Space tourism! Linear trains into space!

Echo Option 1: The Halls of the Woodland Realm

This is where Legolas grew up as a prince and lived most of his (super long) life. These halls were carved into the mountain into lofty caves with natural light and air. The color scheme is brown, dark greens, and amber.

Why it's awesome:
Now you too can sit on the Elvenking's throne looking sassy. THERE IS ALSO WINE. Much strong Dorwinion wine for the drinking.

- - - - -

Echo Option 2: Caras Galadhon, the Elven city in Lothlórien.

The city is built among the Mallorn-trees, which originally come from Tol Eressëa so they are very special and beautiful. Legolas was captivated by them, as one of his favorite things are trees. When Legolas was here, it was the last time the full Fellowship of the Ring could find peace together and just hang out without worrying about being chased down by Orcs or other dangers. It is also very important to him because it is where his friendship with Gimli first started to form.

Why it's awesome:
It is so pretty don't you want to live in a tree like this?

Echo: The Lonely Mountain/Erebor! Last of the Great Dwarf Kingdoms of Middle-earth and the whole point to the quest.

So other than the fact that it is a giant mountain which is totally amazing for protection on its own, it has a Dwarven Kingdom inside it. Huge forges, amazing statues, plenty of space to hide and stay if someone needs it. It could also come with the literal ocean's worth of gold, gems, and other precious metals that in Middle-earth was Smaug's bed but that's optional since I am pretty sure that would utterly destroy the economy. But seriously, we need protection from mobs, cults, and aliens? This thing has withstood a dragon.

The mods could decide if it's post-Smaug, which means the front gate is sealed and kinda destroyed and there'd be a lot of repairs to do and no way in except the side door which would require a map, a key, and knowing what the heck Durin's Day is, or it could be just pre-Smaug, which has everything more or less shiny and clean and intact. Or some mix of the two, either way!

Echo: Suomenlinna - an island fortress by Helsinki.

Made up of eight islands connected by bridges, it was founded in 1748 when Finland still belonged to Sweden. However, in 1808 it was ceded to Russia, pathing the way for 100 years of Russian occupation, before Finland declared independence in 1917. It's seen battle a few times, and during the Finnish civil war held a prisoner of war camp. These days it's one of the biggest tourist attractions in Finland and a UNESCO World Heritage site, as well as offering some residential properties.

While it's not big and flashy, and doesn't feature any other-worldy attributes, it is beautiful, and it would give those characters who've never left America the chance to see a bit of something from almost the other side of the world (and a world heritage site at that!) And assuming that things happen soonish, it's also the perfect place for a summer picnic!

Echo: The Hall of Justice. Basically, it's your quintessential superhero base, albeit one that's done up in a nice, accessible official-looking manner.

Parts of the Hall of Justice were open to the public for tours, and part of it is a museum devoted to superheroes. Other parts of it are ideally suited to fighting crime; there's a sophisticated (and impressively oversized) crime-fighting super-computer with an extensive database, a simulation room for training (if anyone wants wacky hologram training funtimes), underground chambers for the storage of various super-vehicles, and trophy rooms that are closed off to the public but contain interesting artifacts from the League's many adventures. It's basically a clubhouse for a big group of superheroes that knows it needs to maintain strong ties with the public. It can also serve as a place for people with no other place to stay to hang out; the Hall is equipped with living quarters. Parts of the building are heavily fortified in the case that anything bad happens; it's just part of the planning when you're dealing with all sorts of supervillains who know where you live.

Echo: The Ghost Zone--basically a parallel dimension that's just green as far as the eye can see, filled with floating doors that can lead to ghosts' "lairs" and sometimes rocks that may or may not have stuff on them. Canonically, it's where all ghosts live, but since the echo won't include any playable character ghosts, this will be kind of a "barren" Ghost Zone--doors will only lead to random locations around the world. Instead, it will only be filled with generic ghosts of any design your heart desires.

Another interesting thing about the Ghost Zone, though, is that distance there works differently. If you enter the Ghost Zone in Locke, go five feet, and exit back into the human world, you may well end up Shanghai. If you figure out how to navigate it, it could be handy. Or you could just end up stuck in the desert.

Lastly, echoing back the Ghost Zone means naturally occurring portals into it will start popping up, and they can pop up anywhere--in the middle of the street, in your bathroom, 200 feet above your house...the sky's the limit. And they can remain open for anywhere from a split second to weeks at a time, providing an opportunity for you to go in and explore...or for other things to leave it and explore the human world.

Why it would be awesome: Quick transportation to anywhere you want (if you can figure out the right place to exit)! Getting dumped in the middle of nowhere for your characters to freak out about (if you can't)! An infinite supply of freaky supernatural monsters to fight! A whole new realm to explore!

tl;dr, antics.

As the name implies, it's a big forest next to a hidden village of the elves (village not included). It's filled with various greenery and even a big waterfall! Various monsters roam the place like slug monsters and bell pepper plant monsters and stuff that can all be seen in the link here. Non-monster creatures called bush babies (also possibly in the video) also run around the forest and like to hide in tree holes. There is also a single random golden dragon in one area. IT IS BIG AND DROPS LOTS OF GOLD.

Actually, all these monsters, for some reason, drop money. Gold. Sometimes random items, too! The bell pepper plant drops onions apparently? Idek but it does. At the very center of the forest sits a large gravestone like object. It's actual the location of a powerful summon spirit that will likely not come with the location (it's capable of bending time and space and world splitting and other stuff).

why this is awesome?: Come one, come all to the amazing Torrent Forest, bane of many a gamer! For no fee at all, you can get lost in here forever!! By which I mean, the forest has a fun trick to it. There are DOZENS of paths but only one correct one. If you go down the wrong one? You loop back to the start of that path. Characters could get lost in here for a good fun time of rage! It could also serve as a good hiding place for numbered once they've learned the correct path. Anyone without knowledge of it could get lost forever/beaten up by monsters. Having trouble with the cops, mafia, or evil step mother? Dump all in here!

The way to get out? The bush babies. They know where to go. The way to get them to lead you? Shoot fire/throw items at them. Plus, the cute little buggers sneaking out and getting into people's things could be fun. Imagine waking up one morning only to find some weird glowy eyes staring at you and then BAM bush baby flees out the window, how it even got in being a magical mystery!

Not to mention that the monsters can serve as good training for numbers. They respawn and have decent numbers so it'd make for a good fight. I can easily gather up more details/stats later on if the forest is selected so that characters could pick what to fight and all that. Nothing beats picking a fight with a bell pepper and possibly getting your butt kicked!

Echo: Honnouji Academy

Honnouji Academy is the school built by Satsuki Kiryuin to act as the fortress slash training ground to prepare her forces for the war against Life Fibers. I'd say it looks like a normal high school on the surface but while it does come with classrooms and athletic fields "fortress" is a much better description.

The Academy itself sits atop a mountain and consists of a massive courtyard surrounded by a huge intimidating wall with a single gate. Opposite that is the school building itself which includes the towering spire that houses the student council quarters. By whatever mechanism, the courtyard can change shape. Morphing into a huge athletics field/ampitheater and grow spires out of the ground like trees.

Why it would be awesome: BECAUSE WHO DOESN'T WANT A CRAZY DOOM FORTRESS?! Everybody wants a doom fortress! Fortress potential aside, depending on what comes with the location, Honnouji Academy has the potential to come equipped with fully-stocked Sewing Club facilities which could mean some ready made Goku Uniforms and raw Life Fibers that probably wouldn't end up being horribly abused by anyone.

Echo: Long Arch is the base of Riot Force 6 in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. In addition to advanced facilities that can be used to scan for various threats and develop/maintain magical or non-magical based technologies, it has a medical center, housing for its various members and staff, a cafeteria, and - most impressively, a training facility that can be summoned or removed at its leisure that can be used for combat training. Said facility also has reprogrammed dummy gadget drones that can be used as opponents. The building itself is fairly large, but not enormous, and it and its outside training facility are located by the waterside.

Why would it be cool? For one, it'd give people a potential place to stay, more than enough resources to work with, and a place for the numbered to test themselves and sharpen their skills.

Echo: Wall Sina - the smallest of the three walls that were built to protect the remainder of humanity from the titans. The walls are 60 metres high, neigh indestructible (though the outer cover is somewhat softer, roughly like average stone) and the only gates are four gates that lead into bailies, and then through another gate out of the bailey to the actual outside. On top of the walls, there are rails to move cannons. We're not sure how large it is, but it would probably have to be scaled down massively.

On the inside, the walls are made up of titans =D. That is why they are so durable, titans can harden themselves to become harder than even the sharpest blade. They'll wake up when exposed to sunlight. So if someone decided to destroy the walls and would cause substantial damage to the outer layers of the walls, well. We might then be confronted with a lot of running-around titans... Though we don't know what those titans would do as of yet. They might try to eat everyone, but they might also turn into normal people, or something else entirely. Maybe (most likely) some of the SNK characters in the game could control them, to a degree or completely. We just don't know.

Why this would be awesome: Because whatever place gets fortified like this would suddenly be a super safe place =D unless you come from the air and even then it'd be kind of iffy ...Also suddenly most major roads would be useless and there'd be a lot of shade, but hey, no upsides without downsides. Plus the baileys could come with lots of free housing, since they are densely settled to the point where they basically only exist of resident housing.

Character: Thorin/Thorir | Rivendell
Echo: "The Last Homely House East of the Sea" - A beautiful elven dwelling located in a beautiful valley with lots of water - the river at the bottom of the valley, but also fountains, springs, waterfalls... the architecture is lofty and airy, finely made (after all it was built by the most crafty elven race), there are living areas and offices and a library (with parchment scrolls, this is fantasy after all), banquet places, paintings and statues and forges, barns with tall, well-trained horses and probably some additional livestock and storage houses, an armoury and all over the place one can equip themselves to look ridiculous in finely fashioned dress and armour that will most likely be too large for them. The living spaces look like they're meant for fairly communal living, and also did I mention how much water there is in the valley?

Why this'd be awesome: It's surprisingly safe for a valley! It should be well hidden, which it probably won't be with modern satellite maps, but there are still only so many entrances and most of them are easily defended. Also it would give all the characters give ample opportunity to train their combat abilities, learn/train riding, learn swimming, live like hippies... And it's pretty and a great summer residence (though with the local climate of Rivendell, it has to also be fit for winter).

Character: Shinji Ikari | Neon Genesis Evangelion
Echo: the Black Moon's Geofront/NERV Headquarters.

Bear with me, because we're dealing with Evangelion and therefor things are gonna get weird.

NERV HQ originally existed underneath Tokyo-3(and thus would reside underneath Locke City, presumably, if echoed back), a city built specifically to be ready to defend itself against the threat of angel attacks. The building was built within a huge dome underground referred to as a "Geofront," which is essentially the inside of an alien god's spaceship(the Black Moon) that crashed on Earth. For a better idea of how that works and its size, have this reference image. Inside of it there's an entire lake and forest full of trees and shit. Reference images of the inside of the Geofront: 1, 2.

The building for HQ sits towards the center of the Geofront, and the part of it that is "above ground" is shaped like a pyramid. Because the bottom of the Geofront is not perfectly flat and in fact has a deep trench within it, part of NERV's base appears to be "underground" while still being within the Black Moon. Image reference here. NERV HQ has two main areas: Central Dogma and Terminal Dogma. Everyone at NERV has access to Central Dogma, whereas access to Terminal Dogma is very restricted.

Central Dogma is where the Evangelion units are kept, usually under heavy restraints to keep them from moving on their own when not in use since they are alive. The main area they're kept in is usually flooded with a pink substance called bakelite, which is drained when they're being launched and pumped back in when they return. People are often shown riding small boats across the bakelite. Some references: Unit 01's arm in restraints and the area the pilot boards the Eva from. There are also multiple rooms for conducting tests with the Evas, which can be flooded with bakelite if needed to get the Eva under control.

The Evas are launched from a large elevator which can take many paths to the surface of Tokyo-3. Technical support comes from a multi-level command room, which features a large hologram display. At the bottom of the command room is the Magi supercomputer, which will reveal that there are literally brains in it if anyone pokes around in it. There are also various offices, changing rooms for the pilots, a much-used med bay, and even public baths in Central Dogma. Someone was also nice enough to put vending machines in the hallways like this place is legit and not home to a shady organization secretly trying to orchestrate the apocalypse and merge all of humanity's souls together.

Terminal Dogma is where most of NERV's secrets are hidden, hence the small number of people granted access to it. It consists of the lowest levels of NERV, and on the way down to it the wall of the Black Moon itself is visible. Within Terminal Dogma, you can find this unsettling "bedroom", where Rei Ayanami was raised. Elsewhere in Terminal Dogma is the Dummy Plug Plant, where the technology for a system that provides an artificial pilot for the Evas is found, as well as a tank full of soulless extra Rei Ayanami bodies(NSFW reference image). The Reis are used both for the artificial pilot system and as spare bodies for Rei's soul to be transferred into if anything happens to her. They are not really people on their own without a soul, and thus do little more than smile, stare at anyone who walks into the room, and occasionally giggle creepily.

But that's not all! The Evangelions the kids pilot are all cyborg clones of aliens created by NERV, but they were hardly the first ones. There is, in fact, a giant freaky dumping ground for the remains of failed Evangelions(1, 2). There's also this room that I don't think anyone fully understands, which looks cool and leads to another room where NERV has a giant crucified alien god. Lilith is the alien god who originally crashed the Black Moon into the Earth, but because their soul has been removed and forced into a cloned human body(Rei Ayanami), they cannot do anything but hang there and perpetually bleed. Somehow managing to have a never-ending supply of orange blood known as LCL, there's a giant pool of the stuff beneath them, which is extremely useful as it is what lets pilots mentally synch with their Evas(that's right, they literally force children to be submerged in alien deity blood on a regular basis). As such, this room is misleadingly referred to as the "LCL Production Plant."

Why it'd be great:

The Geofront the Headquarters resides in is its own self-contained ecosystem that players could use for plenty of stuff. There's even a lake who doesn't want an underground lake. Within HQ itself is a ton of really neat things, all kinds of scientific equipment and weird horrifying things that are likely to really freak out anyone who happens to stumble upon them--a giant aquarium full of soulless giggling naked girls, a supercomputer made of brains, a graveyard full of giant monster skeletons, and, as another player put it on plurk, "Stay Puft Marshmallow Christ." A lot of fun could be had with all of the "what the fuck" factor alone.

It'd also serve as a really great base of operations for at least the mecha characters, though I'm sure others could find it very useful for stashing large echoes and their upkeep as well due to its size(even if it does have to be downsized) and all of the technology that comes with it. People could probably live down there if they really felt the need. And from a selfish perspective as the mun of an Eva pilot, it'd make the operation of the Evangelion units in game a lot less of a problem since they're ridiculously high maintenance.

NERV HQ is so packed with stuff that I think there's a lot of potential to have it be useful and interesting to a wide variety to characters in-game rather than just the ones its most obviously suited towards(being built to be a base of operations for "giant robot" pilots and all...but seriously even in the context of that it's cool. How cool would it be to have giant robots shoot up from underground and fight monsters). Or. Well. If you want the opposite of useful...there are some potentially disturbing/confusing things about this place for your needs.

Also this would never be IC knowledge but I mean. It's connected to alien gods tasked with reincarnating dead members of their species as new lifeforms. How appropriate, right.
